Huawei EMUI 12 vs Huawei EMUI 11: See the direct comparison! 

After the video, I see no reason to update. That minor graphics icon changes are in my opinion way nicer on EMUI 11. I also don't want to be bother sliding down from left corner to see notification when I can now see everything at once, control center and notification. Control center also looks nicer on EMUI 11.

I'd still pick up the P40 Pro rather than Nova 9/9 pro , better hardware,Kirin chip,great camera, superior quality.

Kinda an off-topic question, but what happens if you update Huawei Mobile Services in an old Huawei device? Will my device reset or do I need to reset it to update?

I just got emui 12 on my p40 lite. Looks so smooth. The best difference you forgot to mention is in the gallery!! You can pinch with your fingers to arrange items chronologicaly. Better appearance than emui 10 i was using before!

I just got it two days ago in New York on my P30 Pro that I had since 2019, no problems here. Still works as good, as smooth. I still don't have wifi calling enabled which sucks. The split notifications is kind of stupid but I got used to it quickly.

Honestly, it looks like a downgrade. I don't know who thought splitting control center and notifications will be a good idea. Especially when phones are getting bigger and you have to reach to top left corner to see notifications. Plus flat design of emui 11 looks better

Using Huawei P20 Pro, and this is the first update that made my phone faster / less laggy. I don't mind the left / right top menus, and I couldn't care less about icon changes and such. I though big folders are dumb at first, thinking it's just icons on the main screen with a box around, but the box is of size 2x2, and you can fit 9 icons in it, so it's more compact I guess.

I hope so buth when is emui 12 coming, and how there even no announcement yet for mate 40 pro

Got emui 12 on my mate 20, its great, the battery consumtion still the same, not changing to other phone cause i love huawei so much, has been using it for 6 years, from p20 pro to mate 20, I was about to upgrade to p40 pro but it has no google since mate 30 😭

so basically it´s the same, poor Huawei, I Bought the p40 pro thinkin huawei would resist to American pressure but now, after 2 years the phone department is falling apart. But I will keep my p40 until it works,still love the phone. Hope for better days from Huawei

Huawei would have been on another level if there would have been GMS provided with it such a bad downfall I am such a huge fan of them from Mate 20 series

3 times higher battery consumption after playing at the end of the test between EMUI 11 and 12 ... It's almost the same as my Mate30Pro changed from EMUI 10.1 to 11 ... but when I compare EMUI 10.1 to EMUI12, SOT will drop from 10h to 4h ... I can feel it SUPER - do I prefer bells and whistles instead of using it for a long time.

Yesterday I've received Emui 12 update on my Nova 5T, which kinda weird considering it has been like 2 years since US's sanction on Huawei. I thought old Huawei devices with Google services would not receive any major update.

Slinding the top left corner for notifications and the top right for the control panel is just annoying, specially when in the previous versions you could see both in one move. It's just cumbersome. Same goes for the multiscreen feature.

I was rummaging around and thought that it's amazing to access music through the control panel, only thing is is that I don't use Huawei Music - I use RU-vid Music. Is there a way to change the control panel to show RU-vid music instead of Huawei Music?

I got the update today and i updated my Mate 20 Pro, only problem so far is that when you get a notification or something like that you won't be able to see it, went into settings, nothing. Even when you get it it just says "Notification can't be seen by sliding the window down".

I think, EMUI 12/Harmony OS UI is a good evolution of EMUI 11. If I hadn't bought a Xiaomi phone half a year ago, I'd definetely have chosen a Huawei phone nowadays.

Before you blog, explore more features so you can show whats the difference between 2 os. You forget multi task, you can open up to 3 apps in 1 window. Then you can minimize the apps at the side of the screen.,

I've downloaded EMUI 12 on my Mate 20... it's all working very well BUT I've noticed that nearly all videos now just have a black screen as the thumbnail (rather than an image from the beginning of the video)... anyone else have this problem or know a way around it? major difference you forgot to mention is Huawei is no longer using Android version specified, it seems after all Huawei will or did or doing ditch google!

I have a Huawei Mate 20 X (big phone, I like big phones). Will be getting a new phone at some point. Doesn't have to be Huawei but I'm not looking for iPhones or Samsungs. Anybody got any recommendations for any large display phones that aren't those brands?

Why istn't there an option to disable the new Control Center Style?! This alone is for many users a reason to go back to Emui 11. (For me it's just annoying to have to slide down from top left OR top right! e.g. With one hand it can be difficult to swipe from top left, and you have to get used to the separation of Control Panel and Notifications.) So just in case somebody is still on Emui 11, considering the update to 12 - think twice! (to go back to Emui 11 afterwards is not easy, so eventually it's better to keep ye olde Emui 11)

My control centre went missing after the update any clues? Now it shows msgs and notifications only, WiFi, Bluetooth, airplane mode, screen brightness everything is missing...

If you're comparing appearance and animation, it fine. But you can't compare speed of EMUI 12 and EMUI 11 on different phones. It should be same phone with one updated to EMUI 12 and other not updated (still running EMUI 10 or 11)

I find that after any update I'm usually not happy about it, and it doesn't seem to be an improvement, but rather only discomfort. I don't understand why these companies always want to force upgrades upon people. It should be illegal. I bought my phone and it work. I do not want to upgrade my software, but they keep bothering me with notifications. Is there a way to stop Hauwei from bothering me with this nonsense?

Have Mate 20 pro. When updated to EMUI 12, many things just broke. Some apps don't even open (some of them are Viber, Gmail, default Huawei apps like the files explorer, or cloud app etc.), Notification system is just trash (example: Spotify bar sometimes appear on locked screen and some times just does not) If you ask me, just don't.
