This is the Huawei MateBook X Pro, a laptop that many consider as a clone of Apple's MacBook Pro.. But for reasons I don't understand. I mean, I'm not saying they don't have a resemblance, but this computer is sooooo much more than a clone…. So much so that it's one of my favorite products of the year, and I know it's early. im waiting for more ports, there should have been 2 thunderbolt 4x pcie and 2 usb a gen 3.2 , one of each on either side, and headphone jack on lhs and microsd on rhz wouldh ave been perfect, aalso why does the laptop taper, the macbook pro looks better same thickness across top to bottom

16:9 laptop screen is crap. Too narrow, you have to scroll vertically more often, not suitable for development, browsing, text writings, even video editing since you need vertical space for toolbars.

made my parents buy the matebook x pro when they were in china. Best tech ive ever bought. Battery life could be a tiny bit better though.

Skankhunt42 haha technicaly they bought it. In china they threw in a free case, free bluetooth mouse and free matedock 2. Paid 8288 yuan for the 256gb 8gb ram and mx150 configuration approx 1300 usd or 1650 aud where i live which is cheaper then base macbook pro (which costs a whopping 1900 aud)

haha i feel really unique being the only one in uni with a huawei laptop although sometimes i wish it didnt look like all the macbook pros in lectures. I really doubt it would be coming to australia as last years matebook x hasnt. The manager of the huawei store that my laptop was purchased form said that warranty wouldnt be supported in australia so i dont think they have nay plans to launch it any time soon. If you do get the chance to visit china definitely worth the pickup though. Pretty sure it would be much cheaper then purchasing in australia even if it they did sell it here

Future of laptop design. Such a great device. If it had a little more VRAM on the Nvidia card I would have bought it. Love the 3:2 bezelless display and the keyboard and thunderbolt 3 ports

Go to (Windows Disk Management) -> Shrink the partition that doesn't have windows on it > Extend your windows drive as much as you like > :3

@JACKY CHEN go to the disk management. right click on the disk next to your windows partition. shring it. use the unallocated size to extend windows partition by right clicking on windows partition and choosing extend.

Fefo Fefosa Newegg started selling them on Thursday. Huawei just announced yesterday that they officially go on sale on he 21st at Newegg, Amazon, and B&H.

The area around the keyboard. The build quality and looks. Among the similar display look just makes it blend. Then if they didn't curve the front corners you would say it IS a clone!

It doesn't really matter to be glossy if it has high screen brightness ( 400 nits or above )

That's because it's a touchscreen. The matte option is not touch sensitive.

Im interested in the partition tip. I do see your comment below about going to disk management and shrinking the partition without windows on it. When I do go, I have three partitions. Only 1 can be shrunk is C drive. Partition 1 is 100 mb and cannot but looks to not have anything on it. Then there is WinRE, have full, cant be shrunk. Any help would be great sir! Awesome vid as well!

just bought this at MS store. $1350 with student discount. $1450 after taxes and expedited shipping. Also on Newegg at time of this comment for $1499 no tax but I saved $50 even with taxes.

I think this was the first review I saw of the Matebook X Pro 5 months ago. Now we've had 11-11 shopping day here in China, I've forked out for this beauty (and got a $300 discount) ordering the i7 8Gb 500Gb option and just waiting for it to be delivered. I had wondered whether to get an iPad Pro and forget replacing my ageing laptop but all reviewers say that iOS software is not a match for proper laptop s/w. While I'm not a video creator like you I use Flickr a lot and I know the iOS version is crippled and I always have to come back to my laptop to sort everything else out. Thanks for your guidance. I decided i am going to wait for their next year model because while this laptop is beautiful it has complaints about the camera the sensitivity of the touch pad and especially the fan noise. I am hoping that their next year model will fix these issues.

I don't understand what the EFI partition has to do with the fan or system's efficiency at all. There are tons of videos out there explaining how to delete it. Could anyone shortly explain me why it is necessary to have and why increasing its size helps with anything?

Matebook D is a cheaper alternative. It's $600 with very similar design. The camera is in the right spot and it looks and feels just as premium.

You didn’t mention that screen is 3:2 ratio. Thought it’s got 13.9 inches, it has more space than a 14 inch 16:9 screen.

Great review! I am in the market for a new laptop and this was on the short list along with the Dell XPS 13. But a lot of people are saying there is an issue with this matebook X pro getting really hot, both on bottom and keyboard.. have you experience any of this?

I don't understand what he meant about the Windows Partition. In the video, it was 100 MB, not GB, and you can't have Windows installed on such a tiny partition. Could someone explain what he meant?

I just got mine yesterday and have been trying to figure out how to get Huawei Share working, but no luck. Huawei tells me to open up MateBook Manager, but all I see is PC Manager.

Hey , i bought Matebook X pro signature edition in 2018 which has i7-8550U cpu @1.8GHz - 1.99GHz , but for now due to change in my working software it is asking me for a 2.2GHz processor or higher laptop for my working hope u can help me how to increase my laptop GHz ie Q) Do i need to change the processor? Or is there any alternative way that i can work with my laptop by making it work in higher GHz please make video if possible and the other part is i never expressed my views on ur channel but u r amazing i mean the way u explain in detail and most of ur videos sometimes give me goosebumps 😅 tempting me to buy the product that u explain 😉😉

Actually a Korean LG computer, similar to the gram but heavier has more power, and I believe it is lighter.. It only is worse in battery life.

honestly great video, but if i want a portable windows beast I'd stick with my Surface book, hasn't failed me yet and honestly, with the surface book 2 out, it makes this matebook just look like a media consumption device only lol. And please don't talk about price, i know it's expensive but honestly i rather a GTX1060 or 1050 than a mx whatever that was in the huawei. BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE, i have also used my surface book as my notebook thanks to actual use of the touch screen and pen inputs in one note. I could go on but then I'd get no where so i rest my case. Can't wait for the next video Jaime keep up the amazing work.

I'm using this laptop for about 3 month - its not bad BUT bloody they made Fn button toggle (not like all the other laptops where you have to keep Fn pressed) every time you accidentally hit Fn it changes keyboard layout so I hit wifi OFF instead of F9 and that is crap - hope they fix it as that was really stupid idea

The only wart for me is the stupid intel inside sticker. If you peel it off, it's very sticky. Just use some packing tape to lift off any remaining glue.

I’m a hard core Apple user I feel like their not coping Apple. If you wanted to make the most minimalistic labtop there is, it will look like a MacBook because that’s pretty much what Apple went for
