thank you so much for this video! your videos are incredibly detailed -- i hugely appreciate the zoom test in video mode. the p40+ really edged out with the 3x and 10x zoom.
Would prefer the P50 Pro... unfortunately the zoom lens feels like a downgrade over the Plus phones.... Its not a big difference in 10X pictures but in the video comparison it really showed up!
Just sold my P50 Pro and move to P40 Pro Plus. Snapdragon on P50 Pro doesn’t work like I expected before. Camera not consistent, when the phone get hotter and hotter, the camera result getting worst and worst.
Awesome video as always. A very much better video quality too! Thank you so much for this clear comparison. I have a question regarding day-to-day usage of the P50 Pro Harmony OS vs a typical Android/Google usage. 1. For example, how is the App that use in-app usage of GMS? Eg: like Food ordering app that uses Google Maps. Or App that uses contact sync using Google/Gmail Address book function. 2. Does Harmony OS daily usage is seamless or without major hiccup for a long time android/GMS user point of view? Thank you again for a great video!
1. That depends on the app. Uber Eats for example works fine but just does not show a map. Some other apps refuse to work at all when something is missing (ebay for example) 2. I am not really a long time GMS user. I was using Maemo, Meego, BlackBerry 10 OS and SailfishOS as daily driver. And before switching to the Mate 30 Pro without GMS only used the P30 for a year or so. So in general I am not so dependent on Google Play Services and apps based upon this. For me its no issue. I don't use payment via smartphone but rather cash or my card for payment which might be important for some as GMS is required for some smartphone payment via NFC (I tried stocard briefly which always failed for me at a terminal for some reason)
Cos the P50Pro has a 64M 3.5x telephoto, it is able to match the 10x telephoto on the P40Pro+ by cropping in, hence, achieving lossless hybrid zoom at that range. It's interesting to see how a 64M telephoto is so versatile.
Yeah it improved a bit over the time. They corrected the colors mostly and added focus assist for 10x zoom (small picture of the whole photo you are going to take and the small part you are zoomed in)
Currently i am having 3 flagship phone which are S21 ultra snapdragon & Note 20 ultra snapdragon and Mi 11 Ultra. Each phone launches, I will be the first to buy. Now, when it comes to camera and battery the only phone comes in my mind is Huawei cause the battery are superb plus the camera leica. Damn they are good. Next will be the Oppp find x3 pro camera enginered by sony. For Xiaomi 11 ultra disappointed on the front camera 20 megapixel as it is hopeless now for the back it depends. Lastly software, no frequent updates.
what a disappointment . the p50 is supposed to be better. obviously its not. the p40 pro + has better ultra wide, better selfie camera, better super slow mo , better optical zoom and 5g. the huawei p is all about the camera. the previous model of anything should never be even close to the new model. if arguments have to be made that A1 improves things thats sad. without google the p series has to have world leading camera technology no matter what the cost it is to make. i have a p20 pro, a p30 pro and a p40 pro + , i shouldn't need convincing to get a p series....but the specs aren't impressing me..
Specs are not everything. The P50 Pro is better than the P40 Pro+ in many things. The colors are more accurate. The AF faster. The photos are processed better. And you get the monochrome sensor back.
@@lltechview more accurate colours? you can post edit anything.af faster? speed isn't everything.better processed photos? obviously..with smaller sensors.. the monochrome sensor?...who wants that?....it was in the p20 pro...i have one on my p20 pro...... were not going back on time to 2018. a big black and white camera in 2021?...thats a step back.nobody can argue otherwise.
@@tommylangan8845 Photographers lile to take monochrome photos. A real monochrome sensor creates a more dramatic photo. More accurate colors mean less post production. Faster AF that you can nail the shot earlier. So yeah if you want to believe its a step back then you can come up with things. But reality looks different. Both camera systems are good but 1:1 objective comparison the P50 Pro has a slight edge
@@EhsanMusic what is better in your opinion, P40 Pro+ or Mate 40 Pro? Maybe in terms of features? Is P40 Pro+ have Eyes on Display? And autorotation based on eyes level?
@CJ no the p40 pro plus has a better camera system than the mate 40 pro. The same camera system is only used by the rs porsche design or mate 40 pro plus.
I'd love to see both photos and wildlife video footage caught with the P40 pro plus, it's about 650 euro in Ireland compared to about 1200 euro for the P50 pro!
hi leszek , i own p40 pro plus and iam totally satisfied except for single bottom speaker . its frustrating . i plan upgrading to p50 pro kirin version for extra 150 dollars . do you think it deserves extra cash ?
P50 Pro Plus denke ich würde noch besser sein. Am besten scheint aber das P60 Art zu sein. P40er Reihe nur das P40 Pro Plus wobei ich das in dieser Reihenfolge machen würde.
Your videos answer most of the questions people have in their minds but I think the thumbnails can be improved. People like to see pictures more than words there imo
The P40 Pro+ uses the default one that Huawei included in the box. The transparent TPU Case needs to be cleaned regularly to not have that ugly yellowish tint. The P50 Pro's case is the Nillkin one I showed in this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ugfv2F8wzZ8.html
Don't throw your Huawei P40pro just yet! I own Huawei p40pro and still impressive phone camera. Plus looks very nice compared to p50pro. I use Huawei P40pro for astrophotography mostly and it's so impressive in low light. Wonder if Huawei p50pro is better in low light? Just ordered Huawei p50pro from ebay so it'll be interesting. P40pro plus and p60pro still fantastic and both should be bought! I still have Huawei p30pro with Google services. Interesting video and Huawei makes great phones!
İ love huawei. P40 pro plus or p50 pro. Both of them amazing)). I realy want to take one of them. But in our country it is problem((( and you, you do very good job!!))
what is better in your opinion, P40 Pro+ or Mate 40 Pro? Maybe in terms of features? Is P40 Pro+ have Eyes on Display? And autorotation based on eyes level?
P40 Pro+ does not have the eye on display feature. It has a ceramic body which feels a bit more sturdy than the glass back of the Mate 40 Pro though. The Mate 40 Pro is the faster device. I personally like it a bit more
Yes this app still exists and works as accurate as on the older phones. So usually for measurements you have like 1-2cm tolerance (where it could be measuring 1-2 cm longer or shorter distance depending on your measuring method)
OK as you saw p50 pro is better in photo when it come to zoom X100, but I thinks in video mode 30ftp zooming x20 compared to p50 pro is much better, you agree? Or I m rong?
Like linked in the description you can find the original photos. Otherwise it took 3 days for youtube to process the 4k 60 FPS so I will stay with 1080p 60 FPS like stated also in the community tab's poll.
As far as i know, in Europe p50 pro, doesn't have Kirin 9000. It's coming with SD 888. Is that true? Because i think it's a big difference between this 2 processors.
@@roccobarone9 absolutely no clue. The system does not track that anymore. I know that usually 2 days battery life on average. Keep in mind I have the Kirin 9000 version not snapdragon 888 version. The P40 Pro+ is thanks to the 90Hz display 2 and a half day device on average.
Yeah I use histen sound effects. Not set to auto but natural. Sounds best and better than this 3D audio crap it tries to do. Yeah the OV13 and OV64 I also heard about. I think it is pretty solid those chips are in use there.
Do you have any comment about the battery lives between of the device? On GSM Arena its shown that the battery life is almost a quarter of the time shorter, seems so much worse than even P20 Pro back in the day. Is what What you experience too?
It is a bit shorter if you run at 120 Hz. But very comparable. Keep in mind you get a much slimmer and lighter device. Usually I am able to get through the day with plenty of juice left in the tank.
@@lltechview sometimes i take photographs against the sun for ambiance. i just dont understand why this occurs in p50 pro. my pixel didn't have this issue, even my previous phone mate 40 pro. well, there was a slight haze but not as pronounced as the p50 pro.
I hope not. But yeah it will need to throttle early on to avoid overheating. Otherwise I can imagine slightly worse camera performance as the algorithms baked into the Kirin 9000 CPU are missing on Snapdragon
@@lltechview That's sad, I could have comforted myself if Kirin 9000 wasn't powerful enough for everything. Snapdragon 888 is superior in sheer strength but difference can't be seen in day to day use, what can be seen is the better efficiency of Kirin 9000 😔
Can somebody give me an approximation about how much I would have to pay for a dedicated digital camera that is about as good as the Huawei P50 Pro's camera?
800€ for a systemcamera. Sony ZV-1 for example. The Fujifilm X-S10 is also quite good but a bit more expensive. It has the advantage of having interchangeable lenses.
that's a good question, i never thought of it. So it really explains why these phones are expensive. And I'd rather buy a phone which performs like a dedicated digital camera than a camera alone.
