I've had both kinds, but I prefer my mid drive over hub any day of the week. hub are great for vehicles that can't have a chain drive train. like scooters and the like. Great video as always thanks bro!

Thanks for sharing! Totally agreed, but the $999 price tag this is insanely low and torque sensor for that price is a STEAL. For those that read this message this will not last long, get it before it is gone.

You will get a very similar power application with a hub motor if you get a bike that has Torque-Sensing instead of cadence-sensing! You will also get the range benefit as well with a Torque Sencer instead of a Cadance Senser!

Both of these ebikes have torque sensor but the mid drive has on top of that another 2 speed sensors and it is more advanced. Hubs cannot match mid drives performance on the same power ratting and battery voltage.

@@ElectricVehicleSpace That all depends on the hub motor! They are NOT all the same! The mid-drive generally produces more torque, however, there are hub motors that will produce more torque, and with a Torque sensor, it WILL give you the same ride experience as a mid-drive at about the same price! You get what you pay for in a hub motor, if all you are ever looking at is Bafang you will never find that out!

Great deal on quality bikes. Mid drive is the way to go for the experienced e-biker. I totally agree with you on your Specialized comment. I enjoy your videos and place a lot of value on your opinions.

If I'd choosing mid-drive, I'd prefer pair it with a infernal gearbox, since this combo would make it up to some of the worst mid-drive problems.

Vitus E-Escarpe 290 VR Mountain Bike is my new bike, a proper electric mountain bike, so I enjoyed your conversation about mid-drive and hub drive even though mine is a full suspension mountain bike I will olso commute as well I need the suspension for my bad back I've still got my other ebikes I wanted a real electric mountain bike 👍🏽

Tried my best to explain but also the mid drive is my best e-bike option from all I reviewed so far and I am going to post soon a video how to unlock them to 28-32mph. This mid drive will be even better after that and more desirable for all type commuters. So butter smooth and powerful.

Hubs with torque sensor all the way! Mid drives destroys your chain, your casette, and chainring. When you brake or accelerate, you always need to switch gears. You don't have that problem with hub motors, you just push the throttle then you can pedal at your preferred speed. And some hub motors comes with electronic brakes which saves your brake pads and at the same time charge your bike, you don't get that on a mid drive.

Mid drives will destroy only if not used properly. Otherwise hubs with the same power rating and voltage will not outperform a mid drive.
