Im Saudi-Raised Nigerian with no background of any southern Nigeria food movement but when I got introduced to Ogbono Soup hands down it became my favorite!
Ogbono is better than Ewedu hands down especially for non traditional foodies Ogbono has a continental taste & takes on spice very easily & maximally Not surprised it’s your best Ogbono is used to enhance Okra soup many a time. It’s used to enhance Egusi as well. It’s just top notch & versatile More folks should try it

I can literally feel the amount of pepper in that soup. Sometimes i wonder within myself why we enjoy spicy food, but still i love it. If I'm not feeling the hotness of that pepper in any food, no it wasn't well prepared. Lamb almost consumed that plate😂😂😂. You guys are the best.
It’s our culture!!! God never make mistakes in wherever an individual is born. People don’t appreciate their cultures these days because they’re running after shadows!!! “Pepper is not good” but some of the people a lot of other cultures are running after now call ‘cayenne pepper’ medicinal. Palm oil is our local oil, but a lot of people want vegetable oil(full of cholesterol ), all in name of saying ours is not original. When I went to Lagos, I ate everything, even snail at the mall and really enjoyed it. Of course I had my American food also (KFC)😂😂. Cant wait to go back next month.

I remember I was in a country for years. I missed my African village food 🥘. When I returned I went straight to eat the village good called mrenda and ugali. It was very nice to return my taste buds.

Im from Singapore, a malay Muslim lady. Honestly i find egusi and fufu are my comfort food. We have a halal african food in singapore that we orderdled thru IG and i was blown away when i first had egusi. The lady is selling Ogbono this week and im definitely gonna order it. So apt!
