I ordered it through your link. I’m here in the USA, it’s still in stock (.22) at a place but hopefully Huben Spain gets it soon. I guess I’ll get it when you do. Thanks again for this HUGE contribution to the shooting sports. MUCH RESPECT!!
Hi. Yeah, I am very sorry about that. It was not cool what Huben did when they delayed the EU shipment. The pistols should arrive any time now to EU but I will not mind at all if you decide to cancel it and get it in US....
Good feedback, thank you.. can't wait for my pre-order also ... first time for me to order a gun that haven't been in the market before but this is a dream pistol... I wish we could get an approximate delivery timing. It is a good move from huben to offer the 1/20 adaptor and the case from the start, it projects quality and customer consideration, it also guarantees shooting perfomanes compared to after shop solutions
Gregor, Do you sell the original air cylinder that you made? If not could you tell me how I could get one? Also do you sell the original stock? I actually like your build way better than the factory one. Also where do I pre order one so you get credit?
I get credit if you use the link below the video (much appreciated!!!). I used the plenum form K1 for the cylinder and I made the filling port my self. I also made the stock my self. Unfortunately, I am not selling them.
Thank you Gregor for the excellent video and update! This is great news. One thing missing I would really like to see, is to have your permanently affixed autograph somewhere on the GK1! On another note, would you happen to know if the two after market loading gate's floating around would fit onto the GK1?
Do you have the current version of the K1? The videos you have are for the older version. When you make your videos I try to follow but your version is different
We will see. At the moment, it is hard to imagine improvements as it is the pinnacle of air pistol technology, but with time, I am sure some ideas will come up.
I love your ideas and videos, thank you. I would like to know Gregor, have you tried to fire your gk1 using Helium to increase your power?? I hear it can give you a Substantial increase in FPE
Thanks. No, I haven't although, I would assume that Helium would have more advantages in longer barrels where the Nitrogen expansion speed is an issue... I might try sometime if I can get my hands on some compressed Helium.
I still don't have the production version... :(. I never particularly tested mine at extreme low powers, but my pistol is not very loud when set to minimum. Of course, with suppressor it would be even quieter, you could barely hear it...
I assume you are talking about fitting aftermarket regulator. Yes, the power wheel will stil work but the prover will be limited due to reduced pressure and the size of the plenum. Also, the shot count will be lower.
Hello. I would really like to see a video that you disassemble one. Im a "Yankee" so I get mine in November and im watching all your vids to get as much info as I can. I don't know if its possible but do you think the barrel, air cylinder and shroud could all be cut down another inch or so?
Hi. Thanks. The biggest problem would be to reduce the length of the cylinder. I assume it is made of titanium, so rethreading would be quite a challenge and also a risk not worth taking. Also, consider that with shortening the pistol, you not only have less air available but also shorter barrel so the shot count / power penalty would be substantial.
Off the subject I happend to measure the k1 magazine and .22 barrel, the mag is 219, or 5.56 The barrel is 217.89 just under 218. So a huge difference between mag and barrel. Do you know if you can get hold of a smaller bore magazine. ?
What year K1 did you take those measurements off of? Seems like a weird difference to have between magazines and barrel, it almost turns the barrel into a pellet sizer. I saw that Varmint Knocker slugs for the Huber are .223 I believe as well as the 36 grain NSA that are supposed to be made for huben, while the ZANS made for huben are .219
I assume What you measured are the lands on both the barrel and the magazine. So this does not directly corresponds to the actual grooves which are more important. Also, you need to be able to put slugs in the magazine without too much friction and the slug in the barrel bust be pressed against the barrel much firmer. In any case, there are much more things to be considered in this debate (correct size of the magazine and barrel) and also, the airgun world is following completely different rules (that I do not agree with) than the firearm world... It is true that huben likes slightly bigger slugs (about 5,55 - 5,56 mm) but that is also the case in most "standard" airgun barrels that are dedicated for pellets (for example, the groove of the standard LW barrel is 5,62 mm). Choke solves some of those problems but bring other problems...
@@ethandurden4038 it is a 2022, k1 lite, the lands are very shallow on this barrel in fact it resembles a smooth twist, what I will say is there is a choke point at the breach end and a very slight choke point at the muzzle. A 219 slug fits snug in the mag with little effort but will not fit in the barrel, it is so tight, A 217 slug fits snug in the barrel but you see daylight around the slug when it's in the mag and it rattles around, a very sloppy fit indeed, I would even say the slug in the mag does not sit straight due to the gap so would enter the barrel at a slight angle, yet a 219 slug has a snug fit in the mag with no daylight so this is sitting true. There is definitely a big difference between the mag diameter and the barrel diameter, I will make a video and show you the difference in size. The slug that fits snug in the mag is a Zan 219, but you got no chance of getting this slug in the barrel, the lands are very smooth and hardly rise above the grooves,
How easy is it to fix a pellet jam on the gk1 pistol? I got it 2 days ago and shot approx. 100 pellets through it and half way through a mag it shot a pellet, dumped 1/2 the air and jammed. Skipped a pellet also which is strange. I don’t trust myself tearing into this thing.
@@gregorkamensek3923 I was able to remove the barrel shroud and used a cleaning rod to gently press it clear. (Thank god!!!) I’m not as talented as you are, I’d never get it put back together if I tore into it. This is an awesome gun!!! I love it, thank you!!!
Hi Gregor I have a huben k1 older gen with slug barrel I cannot get good enough accuracy not even a good group I’ve changed scopes I’ve tried different pellets I’m shooting 20 grain pellet at 12-14mpa regulater and around 30-40ftlbs for pellets any suggestions I cannot get any accuracy
Hi. The only pellet worth shooting form K1 is Monster Redesign (I assume you have .22 cal k1). That goes even if you have slug barrel (you can let me know the exactly barrel you are using so I can check more details). Regarding shooting slugs, you can try ATP from Altaros, those seem to do best.
Good point, we are a few mp-mold customers around waiting for it.... I wish now that gk1 is about to arrive that a lighter 25 gr slug could be available...
@@christosmavrommatis912 The mold is tested, I just have to make the video now. At the moment, I do not dare to make any claims about its compatibility with the pistol though, but I can say that I use the slugs in my pistol...
Wow thanks for this excellent video, really excited about this! Seems those Huben guys totally know what they're doing, and how to satisfy their customer base. It's also a relief to hear the difference with and without the silencer, and how easy it is to put the adapter on and off. Can't wait for the next video! I'm wondering what kind of slugs or pellets will be best for the GK1 in .25/6.35
Would be nice if the more standard size slug (25.0/25.1/25.2) shoots well because with the K1 only 25.3/.4 shoots well which limits your choice greatly.
@@Harolddespui I have plenty of slugs that I use in my prototype pistol but I would not worry about what slugs to use as in pistol, you will not be looking for MOA groups...
@@gregorkamensek3923 I agree, but it would be nice if the slugs fit a bit snug in the mag because with the K1 the smaller slugs slide left and right or up and down depends how you hold the rifle.
@@Harolddespui Yeh, I agree, but just how tight? Enough to still be able to insert them with ease but so they do not move under recoil... How to achieve this? tolerances of the slugs have to be extremely precise... but most slugs are too small for standard barrels, so you add land in the magazine... or even better, the slug should have rings. I am rambling, but this has been my research for years now, I am pissed with the "standard" slug manufacturers for forcing upon us the standard flat, too small, too soft (although good for expansion) slugs. I am still claiming that slug should have slight rings, be made of harder alloy (not pure lead) and be of about same dimension as the groove of the barrel. And I have evidence to back this up: the most accurate slugs I have are still my cast slugs. Imagine if those were swagged...
I doubt that will ever be used because the filling port is at the rear so I am not sure if there will be possibility to fit an aftermarket regulator in it, but I will try this for sure at some point.
Pistol is completely adjustable and unregulated. If you take a look at the physics, that is always the case if the slug used is also proportionally heavier. You should focus on energy, not velocity...
@@gregorkamensek3923 yes but for hunting session it s the best solution to have small removable tank instead fix cylinder..0,2cc carbon tank as the same weight than original !that the main reason i will not buy this pistol! it s so pitty because it could be the best hunting pistol out of there..there really should create a new version with small tank and little longer barrel (20 inch barrel )
You would say that with an European guy coming up with the idea, the GK1 would be availabe here sooner than in the United States. But unfortunately the Yankees overthere have the pistol already in great amounts, while we Europeans are still waiting and still no sign on any delivery date. 😡
@@gregorkamensek3923 Instead of splitting the first batch, a part for Europe and a part for the US, they just send everything to the US. Amazing action from Jacky Huben... It could take a long time before we see the pistol here.
@@Harolddespui I agree that it not the correct way. The pistols are however on the way and should be in EU in mid October... I am not making any videos regarding the pistol now because I think that until I have one, it is better to wait as any information I give might not be accurate.
