Thanks Tim, Richmond is generally dog friendly, the Bolton arms at Downholme is only outside , not inside. (The Bolton Arms at Redmire and also the one at Leyburn does allow dogs 😀) - lovely area isn’t it. - all the best, David & Rachel 👍
Rox is such an important part of her family that dog friendly is a priority for us where possible especially since she has chosen to sleep with Davids feet and not mine! That dog deserves a treat 🤣
It’s a lovely area and I always see it as the gateway to the Yorkshire Dales, certainly the northern dales like Swaledale. Watch this space for some more from the area 😀 Appreciate the comment, and the CL was nice also. All the best, David & Rachel 👍
A very informative video. Thank you I really enjoyed it. I haven’t visited the area since the 1960s when a friend and I used to camp in her grand’s garden in Hudswell during school holidays so I was interested in seeing it again. I’m hoping to visit with my campervan some day
It’s a lovely area isn’t it - bet camping in the garden was brilliant - hope you manage to visit again soon, thank you and all the best, David & Rachel 👍
And to post as Tylers Travels :-) How strange is this David, we have literally just booked Woodcroft Cottage in Hudswell for May 16th - May 20th for our 4th wedding anniversary ( May 18th, also the date our CV40 is due of the production line at Elddis :-) ) We booked it as the cottage looks awesome (and was available ) and that pub looks brilliant :-) last year we stayed at Brompton Lakes and the area is just lovely. Easby Abbey is an amazing place, got some brilliant pictures there, and as you said, dog friendly as well. Richmond is a lovely village/Town to wander around all pubs again been dog friendly. Really looking forward to it :-) We will defo stay at the CL site there when the van comes :-) Thanks for posting mate :-)
It’s an amazing town and area isn’t it - we are so lucky to have it virtually on our doorstep. Richmond and up the dales is generally really dog friendly isn’t it which is great (the Bolton Arms at Downholme is only outside with dogs) pleased you enjoyed it and hope you have an amazing stay in May for your wedding anniversary - those pies are delicious in the George and Dragon - there is a lovely walk from Hudswell over the moors via Thorpe Edge to Downholme which has the most magnificent views of the Swale valley. Easby abbey was wet on Saturday morning as you will have seen but looks much more grand in the sun - thanks again, all the best, David

What an nice anniversary weekend. Imagine next year … 5 years together and in your van! The George & Dragon was lovely and you must check out the Station… the bakers is out of this world. All surrounded by stunning views! 💕💕
@@rachelwalker202 next year will be 40 years together and 5 years married :-) we have been engaged since 1986 :-) Yeah its a lovely part of the country, we were hoping to have the van earlier and go away for a week in it, but a week in a cottage will be fine knowing that when we come back the van will have been built and just waiting for the DVLA etc :-) x x
Very informative video, we are looking at staying at Scar Close in a couple of weeks as we want to visit Richmond Castle and wanted to get some info on it. Al & Ciska
Pleased it was useful - Richmond and the area is an amazing place to visit - hopefully the weather will improve by then. Thanks for watching - enjoy your trip. All the best, David & Rachel
