Visiting the Muelle de las Carabelas at Palos de la Frontera to see the replicas of Christopher Columbus's boats the Niña, Pinta, and Santa María from his first voyage to the Americas.
A few days relaxing at the beach at Playa de Mata Negra near Huelva before we crossed the border from Spain to Portugal over the Puente Internacional del Guadiana.

HI we are considering travelling to Portugal by car from Calpe Costa Blanca in about 3 weeks time.Watched your blog thought there might have been some footage of the procedure at the border controls.It looked as if you just drove straight through unchallenged.Is that correct,

Yes, there was no one there. All we had to do was get the easy toll ticket then drove through. Have a great trip.

How are you getting on with your refillable gas cylinders? Have I missed a bit with a refill? We're going to collect our first motorhome this week, partly inspired by you, so hopefully make our own trip but with a little dog! Good luck in Portugal

They are really good. Glad we went for the 2 x 14kg bottles as we don't have to fill them very often. Having said that most garages sell LPG and it's much cheaper than the calor gas we had previously. Good luck with your MH, we really love the life it has enabled us to live.

I thought we were limited to 90 days in the EU? It's a trip we're hoping to do, is there an extension visa that you need? Enjoying all your videos.

UK passport holders are limited to 90 days in 180 in the Schengen region. One of us is Irish, so still an EU citizen. Under EU directive 2004/38/EC on the right of citizens of the Union and their family members to move and reside freely within the territory of the member states. We are very lucky, we have met loads of UK citizens who have had to head home within the 90 days. I don't think there is a visa yet but you could look at doing the Schengen shuffle to extend your trip.

@Deasy Does It Lucky ducks, being Welsh doesn't count! And we lost to the Irish at the rugby 😕 We knew about the shuffle, as we follow others doing it here on RU-vid. Anyway, looking forward to seeing

Is that easy toll ticket for the motorways.My neighbour has a place in Portugal and has told me that Portuguese vehicles including hire cars have a toll reader fitted and it can be topped up.We won't be using the motorways, going to Alvor and not venturing further than there.Was there a charge for the easy toll ticket.

They didn't charge us. The ticket is for the toll roads although we haven't used them. We used the N125 good road. Just left Avlor this morning, loved it there.
