Thank you for the excellent review. Have a few lasers, including a $450 or so Heupar, and need this to get higher and level. Much appreciated, Sir!

Consider using a dry lube such as WD-40 SPECIALIST DRY LUBE with PTFE. Dry lube will not attract dust, dirt, sawdust, drywall dust, etc. Also, showing the use of just the pole without the tripod by tensioning between the floor and ceiling would have been helpful. I don't use the tripod when working in confined spaces such as installing wire shelving in closets. And one of the great features I did not see demonstrated was the use of the rack and pinion gear set on the device mount to fine-tune the elevation of the laser line to obtain a specific height.

Hi Jamey. Yep, that dry lube is great stuff and doesn’t attract dust or dirt. I use it on my router bits and saw blades to prevent pitch buildup from cutting the wood. Like you, I find that using the pole without the tripod works really well indoors, especially when I’m working in a small bath doing tile work. You can see how to assemble and use the pole at 4:47 in the video. As for the micro adjustment on the mount, it works fine for up and down, but that’s it! It would be better if it could also adjust side-to-side as I have trouble getting the laser to line up perfectly on a vertical tile line while twisting the pole. Also, the really good micro-adjuster that comes with my S04CG-C cannot be used on this pole unless screwed on top of it while using the pole with the tripod. I did make a video on modifying the ferrous metal plate so it can be used with any 1/4 20 camera mounting, and then you could attach the micro adjuster to it; however, it extends a lot of weight out away from the pole which I think makes it too unstable.

Thank you for the review. I had the poles upside down on mine! The tripod is Ok. Anything more would probably up the cost. Same with the platform. You can loosen the mounting screw on the platform to adjust in the X and Y planes. Unless the pole is butted to the ceiling the whole tripod shakes and getting the X, Y dead on is a trial and error process. Thanks again.

I bought the regular tripod and am returning it. I was considering this one but before I decide I am watching your review. The regular tripod is a piece of crapola!! Wiggles like crazy.

Are you referring to the TPD14? Since this is only about $30 more, you may have helped me make my decision.

This stand is sold by at least six different brands on Amazon. Huepar sells it for $82. I got mine for $69.

The rubber ends, do they not mark the ceiling when set, especially a white ceiling ?
@brashair7652
@brashair7652 2 года назад
Hello Tokman, Great question! The end is plastic with a large rubber insert that makes contact with the ceiling. Not sure what the rubber composition is, but I did some tests on painted ceilings, walls, bare wood and white paper and there were no marks from the rubber.

If this type of pole falls over even without much impact the treads snap off the poles rendering them useless

How do you actually measure vertical height of the level?
@brashair7652
@brashair7652 8 месяцев назад
Hello @tonyvillena1293, Could you please take a look at my other video on the LR6RG Laser Level Receiver? I think it will explain one way to measure vertical height. Link is here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Uir2NCBSpuc.htmlsi=MZDoQwYEHOX00W64

I've got a question. -- If you are using the vertical laser line on a wall -- and want to have a slanted line rather than a perfect straight up and down line -- is there any adjustment on the tripod stand to angle the laser line on a wall ?
@brashair7652
@brashair7652 Год назад
Hello Jack. Thanks for watching my video. There is a way to rotate the laser level while in the locked manual mode and that is by using the Huepar microadjuster included with the laser level. However, the microadjuster I have requires attaching to the magnetic base since the microadjuster does not have a tripod adapter. In order to make it work, the magnetic base (steel plate) needs to be modified by adding a 1/4-20 nut to one edge of the steel plate. It's a fairly easy hack and here is a link to a video I made showing how to do it: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-MxUyJo6q_Eg.html I think Huepar may have added a tripod adapter to later versions of the microadjuster, so a modification might not be necessary.

Can you use the fancy micro adjustment bracket that comes in the laser level kit to attach to the pole… instead of the one that comes with the pole?
@brashair7652
@brashair7652 Год назад
Hello Eric. Great question and it is definitely a Huepar design fail that the micro adjuster doesn’t attach to their tripod, BUT, no worries cause I have created a hack that allows you to use the micro adjuster with this and any camera tripod with a standard 1/4 20 camera shoe. Please check out this video to see how you can modify your’s too: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-MxUyJo6q_Eg.html

In it's website description, it mentions adjustable from floor to ceiling, which I can see the upper capability clearly, but was wondering with the tri-pod or the pole alone, can it really go down to almost floor level? Say you want to put down your first row of tile off your shower pan, could it be used for this lower use?
@brashair7652
@brashair7652 10 месяцев назад
Hello Matt, with the laser mounted on the tripod provided support bracket, it will not go down low enough to do first row of tiles and you would have to use the laser by itself for the first row. However, there is a mod you can do to the micro adjuster bracket which could allow you to install the micro-adjuster bracket to the tripod support to allow the laser to hang down from the top below the support. Here is a link to my video on how to do that modification: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-MxUyJo6q_Eg.htmlsi=oYfOLGpBUT39uSQy

I would've liked to see the laser moved up and down on the pole which is very important.
@brashair7652
@brashair7652 2 года назад
Hello Bala. The micro-adjuster on the mount works smoothly, but it only goes up and down to adjust the horizontal lines. It would have been better if Huepar had added a micro-adjustment for side-to-side movement for adjusting the vertical laser lines.
