Something so sweet in this interview. Huey is a fav, sure, but it's more than that. There is often a tangible connection between Jimmy and his guests, I think it's Jimmy's special talent~the way he is able to show his respect, his connection to his guest to bring the audience in~I do love you Jimmy Kimmel.

Fun Fact: Huey and Kimmel are best friends in real life. They go fishing together. Kimmel has talked about it on his show. We love you Huey and we Americans are so proud of you !! If Huey had a podcast or radio show I would listen to him everyday because he is really great telling stories of his life !!

Great guy, I've seen his show twice, many years apart. First time he was not as big and it was in a big club in NM. My BF at the time bore a resemblance and at the break he came over and said, "Hey, you're a good looking guy". My BF said, "Yeah, but I can't sing." We bought him a beer. Second time, 30 years later, still rocked hard.

Huey Lewis and the News concert back in 1985 at Riverbend in Cincinnati, OH. was my husband's and my first date. Thirty-five years later, we still love them as much as we did back then. They really stood the test of time. I hate to hear Huey may have to give it up. Thanks for all the great music through the years.

So sorry about the hearing problem Huey. Been going through that myself, but not to that degree yet. Regardless your legacy as it is is fantastic. Sports is a masterpiece and you have many other great songs ,many considered genius by other musicians.. So dont stress you'll be fine as is, and if you can make more music all the better. That's just gravy. Been a fan since before you were "big". Saw you open for Queen once. That was unusual but cool. Nothing that you'll ever do will take away those great memories or diminish my admiration for your musicianship. What cha gonna do, anyway?

I was in an all original band in 1976 in San Jose California. The lead singer/songwriter and his brother, the drummer, didn't think much of cover bands. The bass player wanted us to go to a local bar and see what the competition was like. We went to a bar called "The Wooden Nickel" near Santa Clara University. The band playing was pretty good and I was impressed, they were tight and the front man was really good. They played all cover songs. After the show I told the guys in my band that we should do some cover songs. The lead singer in our band said "Those guys will never make it, they don't do any original stuff". The band we saw that night was named "Clover".

I saw Huey Lewis and the News back in 2006 at Saratoga, NY. Fabulous show. Loved Huey then; still love him now. I thought he was a riot in Hot in Cleveland too. A truly versatile and gorgeous man. ❤❤❤

I saw The News open for Jefferson Starship at Berkeley Greek theater in 81 when they were virtually unknown. After their set, they hurriedly piled into an old coupe and sped away. Great set! God bless Bill Graham!

Yep that's why people always prefer The Beach Boy's Mono Mixes. Those were mixed by Brian himself. The Stereo were done later on by Mark Linett and Chuck Britz. From 1968 onward the Boy's were mostly mixing to Stereo too. Brian did eventually have an experimental surgery done to his hearing and it did restore a bit of hearing in his other ear.

I had the chance to meet him in 1994. At dinner he told me some very funny anecdotes from his trip in Europe in 1968. He is the coolest and nicest guy on earth.

In all seriousness, Huey's dad gave him some great advice. I wish I had either taken some time to travel before going to college, not even knowing what the hell I wanted to study, and taking on student loans. I would tell my son to do what Huey did. If I had a son. Which I don't.

I also have Ménière's. I've had it for years. My left ear is shot. I'm totally used to it now though, so I don't even think about it anymore. Sucks for Huey though because it'd be great if he could belt a few tunes. I really like his voice. He also has great stories. Either way, I'm glad to see that he's doing well and looking healthy.

I saw them at tags summer sound stage in Elmira NY. When the plan B album came out. They got 3 on course that night. Fans could not get enough awesome time. That was back in early 2001. I think 38 special opened up for them that night.

Alan Shepard was the first American in space. After MR-3, he contracted Meniere's and was grounded, never expecting to fly again. After finding someone who didn't say "learn to live with it" he was treated and improved and went on to command Apollo 14, and walk on the moon. I hope Huey finds a miracle, too.
