This show was really on a class of its own. It literally combined the best of every genre of tv series. Comedy/Anime/Martial Arts/Knowing it’s own bullshit/the irony of politics/ the clear exaggeration of racism. This hit the mark on everything
@@Sernival And you think you're smart by providing half assed explanations to people pointing out idiotic double standards in media when it comes to violence and profanity. Fuck off.
I love it cause they did it in a spectacular way! Seriously when have we seen a flying guillotine in anything since the 70's? He was a fun character though XD
It is completely wild to me that this is over 15 years old. Wasn’t even an anime based fighting anything. Yet the fight sequences, are literally better then most animes. The Boondocks truly was a legendary show.
@@weroscarface6917 The boondocks was first aired in 2005. If you’re gonna be that literal, of course the following seasons came the years later. But I’m speaking for a generalization. It came out in what’s essentially considered two decades worth prior of technology, animation wise. The point is it came out that long ago and legit looks better then most animations that are considered top tier this day. And it’s not even an anime, it’s a cartoon
@@weroscarface6917 Na I mean just in a general sense, it’s wild that the animation/the fighting animation so on and so forth could be produced in that time.. yet it stands to this day as something crazy. Usually when you look back on anything from 10 years/20 years it’s utter trash compared to what we have nowadays. The hyper realistic animation sucks these days 50/50, it’s like a backstep in some things but at the same time it trumps most things that were out back then
Gymnastics aside, most of what he did was just blocks and parries - basic stuff for a number of schools. Agreed though, he likely just watches and studies the stance, movements, etc
No that aint no fun fact Naruto copies off of boondocks you should know that and plus boondocks came out in 2005 and not 2006 Naruto came out if 2006 get yo fun facts right nigga
The only reason huey always loses to others who know kung fu or something like that is because hes only 10 years old. His body isnt fully developed. if he was around 18 where hes more of an adult and stronger he be as power ful as boshido.
+Jacob Bailey can agree with that to an extent. I say that because Robin (Damien Wayne) is just a child and he destroys people with ease. Robin and Huey fight differently though; Huey is more Kung Fu and Robin is more disciplined in surviving in dangerous settings, dealing with injuries while fighting, and killing his opponents if given the chance to. That's just my thought on the matter.... Don't hurt me:D
I don't see why not, their both great fighters, both are kids, and have very similar body structures (Robin should be taller). Robin is more aggressive and stubborn while Huey is more poised and collected.
Considering that huey only knows one style. As damion knows every single martial arts style(batman does and im guessing since the kid trained under the same organization that had trained him, its safe to assume he had as well).
+Jacob Bailey You can compare Huey seeing as how he's about the same age. Huey learned how to fight properly. There's nothing stopping Riley from doing the same.
***** I think the obvious mocking of Bruce Lee that Bushido does on the old lady is a giveaway they based him off of Bruce Lee. And anyone who knows this stuff know Bruce Lee is the Jeet Kun Do master (quite literally) Huey is always doing awesome flips and whatnot and none of which really apply to any specific style. I've seen him do a few swipes, tornado kicks and crescent kicks so it may be based slightly from Kung Fu. The old man at 0:44 ish you can clearly see the way he is blocking is the same way taught in Karate. Which this would be the biggest give away. I'm not entirely sure what old fashioned cage really is meant by but to get to the point of this. I don't think these were really intended to be specific fighting styles mainly because I see a lot of things that probably wouldn't be taught much. I just generally think they took martial arts and applied it to the characters but I generally think they didn't have a direct basis of what style they'd fight in
***** Obviously you have an impulsive name calling. And yes. that jump that he does and lands on the old lady. that's a Bruce Lee joke. We're talking about fighting styles not who he looks like. If he is karate then at around 3:05 notice how he steps into the kick. That's the Jeet Kun Do way of a stomp kick. So if it directly says karate then someone messed up because you can also pay attention to how he blocks and stands to tell it's not karate
***** ALSO! Any real Martial Art would never have you do a flip into an axe kick. These are obviously not really intended to be any specific martial art but just generally based off of them so really there is no point of arguing what fighting styles they may be using.
Finally someone got the name right. R.I.P Grandmaster Bushido Brown. The greatest Black Karate man that ever lived...o wait I'm getting a call from Black Dynamite. He wants a match with him for that title o.o
@@mesharrogers6392 He's basically a mature adult. He cusses but not as much as Riley. Riley's is the perfect example of a kid. Constantly cursing because he thinks it's cool.
Huey is low key my favorite character ever in the series cause he the only logical dude in the show and can fight real good and if he was older he would fold everyone that appeared in the show
I will _never_ understand the inclusion of the kung fu fighting dynamic to the Boondocks cartoon, but I will say it produced some of the most beautifully choreographed fight scenes ever committed to animation. They sprang out of nowhere, and they returned to normalcy so fast it made you wonder if this isn't mostly happening in their imagination.
Kung Fu movies struck a chord with black people post-Civil Rights movement because many of them featured messages of "China is not the sick man of Asia", Black people felt a kinship with them as they knew what discrimination was like. As a result, Kung Fu is the Black man's go to martial art. An example would br the rap group, the Wu Tang Clan
They really meant to kill Huey and Riley. Huey was the only one who stood a fighting chance, but those hits on his body were HEAVY. It’s a miracle he stood as long as he did. They were literally toying with both of them and got saved by the bell. Absolutely insane to think about. Even in the show context, that’s not even funny.
Maybe an animated fight on american television. You'd be surprised man, look up Fightng Sakuga on RU-vid and you'll be introduced to more fights like this or better!
Bushido Brown forgot the one thing every true martial artist knows, never fight against a group of people on your own. It doesn't matter how good you are, even if you're fighting a bunch of people who have never been in a fight before, you're at a unrealistic disadvantage. Stephen "Wonderboy" Thompson said it himself, it's just not a situation anybody should ever want to be in. No matter how good your skill level is. Then if the group in question actually does know how to fight? Yeah it's over.
I remember reading that in beserk. The main character guts once said theres no such thing as a fair fight in war. A grand master could easily get jumped and killed so if you gotta fight dirty to survive, do it.
I know this is 2yrs dated but They’re multiple videos of a boxer fighting a crowd and knocked out 6 people and he was not getting jumped, and a recent one of a guy named “Rohan” (his name was actually Rohan) beating up multiple people at once, so it all comes down to how smart and mentally disciplined the person is in a fight
@@Reoko77 That's the same guts that also fought a hundred guys on his own who conveniently approached him one at a time and never tried to use their many ranged weapons against him, right?
not really; He never backs down from a fight. and HE ALWAYS SPEAK the unseen truth. Riley is not delusional about the world; he reflects it. Riley is only delusional about his ability to live up to the reflection.. Riley is our society. Most politician, bum, musicians celebs =is Riley lowkey. 🤔Trump dont remind you of Riley? what about DABABY? he is relatable because millions of people are like Riley or know one. 1/2 the time they are in trouble. the other 1/2 someone is getting them out of trouble. every now & then like a broken clock .they SPEAK the truth; no one can deny. you look up at the wall and say 🕠 "oh, this is true"
This might sound like a minor detail, but look at how Huey's face changes on the beginning of the fight at 0:43 through 0:52. Watch it in slow motion if you can. His face goes from naive to serious to angry to pissed off in the span of less than 10 seconds. I swear, the amount of detail they put into this show is insane.
Facial expressions in this show are top notch, as soon as he sees them jump from 50 feet away 60 feet up, Huey went from “alright, we can do this” to “oh fcking shit”
For a comedy show, this was so much more, this fight animation is soooooooooo much better than it has to be, and that makes the jokes being used during the fight and the ridiculous aspects so much funnier
The scene from 0:53 - 0:57 is the exact same fight sequence that they used in the fight between Sasuke and Orochimaru in episode 30 of Naruto. Orochimaru runs up to Sasuke, punches him right in the face, follows up with two more punches, a knee to the stomach and then knocks him to the ground with a straight jab.
First of all riley can't fight anyone, second of all he can only shoot bb's and still is a bad shot. Riley vs heuy is a good example of how bad of a fighter he is.
