This abandoned castle is straight out of a movie. It is by far the biggest place we ever explored. Being built in the 19th century, this place is almost still completely furnished from the interior and is a true multi-million property.
As it's built in the proximity of German's capital, the city of Berlin, the architecture involves many German influences. When we found a secret passage leading to an underground library, we were lost for words. Find out more in this video as we venture our way inside the most huge place we have seen so far.

Hi Maureno & Remon, the "mugs" are called "Stein's" and they are used for German beer. The wooden pattern is called Marquetry and the pattern is made out of tiny different pieces of wood. Snoezelenraum means "multi sensory room". At 41:55 the instrument is called an "Organ". The items at 46:15 are either called "Slippers" or "Loafers". You guys do make me giggle with the names for things, the sewing box you found at 48:56 had sewing cotton in not sewing wires 💖. The item at 1:05:03 is called a "Unicycle", the yellow machine with the words "Rubbel dich reich" is translated to English as "Rub yourself rich" which is like the lottery I think. The "Daimler" brand of car was made by the same people as "Jaguar". Absolutely awesome you guys, you did an amazing job with the editing for the start of this spectacular show and the castle itself didn't disappoint, so many stunning pieces of furniture, art & decor. Thank you both so much for sharing it with us and thanks to Urbex Experience for graciously sharing the location with you. Take care guys, much love. xx💖💖

Daimler was not Jaguar, but Mercedes, as it used to be called "Daimler Benz" a long rime ago. My mother used to date one of the Daimler boys, but was not rich enough to qualify as "marriageable" for the Daimlers.....And so it goes.....

I have heard that in some castles the protocol was to set up the dining-room for a table full of guests to always be ready, then to remove the settings if the full complement of guests was not reached. In this way the host could not be embarrassed by being considered to be unprepared for company
@flash2tz

The hidden library is not "underground!" It's just down a floor, because of the hill the home is built upon. If it were underground, we wouldn't see the green grass and sunshine outside. Also, "Tempus Fugit" is not a manufacturer of time pieces! It's Latin for "time flies." It is on many modern clocks today, as well as antique and vintage ones.

You're an idiot like they are to actually praise them for trespassing into what is clearly an owned and maintained manor house. It is NOT an abandoned castle . It is owned by a company who are not using it at present but have left the office, microwave etc there and it is being well looked after on the whole. They should be arrested for trespass.

The castle was newly build from 1938-1942 for 1.3 mill. Reichsmark. After the 2nd WW it was at first an American division-headquarter. Since July 1945 it lay in the Soviet part of Germany. After the war it was at first home for refugees, then it became an hospital for pulmonary tuberculosis. From 1961 to 1991 is was a nursing-home for mentally retarded. In 1993 it became a home for elderly people. This period ended around 1991 (1997?). Today it's the property of a real-estate businessman from Hamburg. Nothing is known about the future of the caste so far.

That's interesting. Looking at the way the walls and ceilings were decorated, I would have guessed it was constructed during the early 1930's. Whoever built this, if it was built in 1938-1942 (war years), must have had a lot of pull in the Nazi government in order to get the labor and materials.

Fact is they present themselves as stumbling across "abandoned properties" which implies they just enter without permission to make a youtube video . Thats not acceptable. If they have permission they should state as such at the outset but then it would not be an abandoned place so the point of their vid would be null and void. I was not having a go at 'you tubers' but these guys in my opinion not being up front. Also if they are going to enter an historic site it would not have killed them to do some research first then they would not sound like idiots to someone who has some knowledge of history ! These idiots are really trespassing this time . God I wish I could have them arrested. "Snoezelenraum" is a strange combination of Dutch and the German language: "snoezelen" in Dutch means "to snooze", and "Raum" in German is "room". So it´s a room where you can snooze, maybe have a little nap after lunch or in this case after reading heavy literature..... In Dutch it would be correct: "Snoezelenkamer" (kamer means room), in German maybe "Dösenraum" (but that`s a literal translation which will be never used in this way), so probably better: "Nickerchenraum" (dösen means to snooze, Nickerchen translated means nap). I´m a German who lived for 18 years in the Netherlands, so my Dutch is quite good. And YES, it is a different language than German, and not only a local dialect.Very interesting Video! Thank you for that, but - if I may suggest - never point with your hands infront of a camera lens. The camera already does the job, the hand only covers the objects you want to show. Greatings from Germany and good luck for more of this.

The two Daimler cars at 1:10:00 are Jaguar X300's with what looks to be a conversion by Eagle to a 6 door configuration. They stretched the cars by adding a door the size of the front door to the middle. These were popular among UK funeral companies. Daimler is the upscale Jaguar brand in the UK, like the Vanden Plas brand is the upscale Jaguar in the USA.

@@mikehunt8375 this is my first time seeing this program. Is it supposed to be a fantasy? If so then you should listen to some of the comments and learn something to do better next time! They have screwed up big time! It is all a setup if this place has been abandoned for decades, as you said at first. Too many birds. Spring green and November road cover! Too much new stuff, not anywhere near the dust it should have. Flowers? People that rich would not be using fake flowers and plants. Now they say 5 years but even so- not enough near enough dust! Crystal still shining. No rings left from lifting up the stem ware, and everywhere reflections on 'dust' covered tables, and floors. And the piano would have been closed and again, where is the smooth cover of dust instead of the little dust bunnies. You are looking from a poor man's point of view to miss so much IF IT WAS REAL! Ever have a cold room? Used to keep vegies and other things. Many plants could have been brought in from the garden to keep for the next spring. You are unbelievable trying to convince people! Missed so much! Definitely a set up. But I'm sure who ever set it up will learn from the comments and do better next time. It will be a quick take down too. A good laugh if this is a comedy show!

@@kathleenmcquade31 These young people are students and they are showing what they found. Since there is a 2015 calendar in the kitchen, that says that parts of it were in use 5 years ago and there are parts that could have been used as recently as a few months ago. Other parts look like they are old and been abandoned for a long time. Since it is close to the Berlin city center I'm wondering if the city bought it. If so, they may still be in the planning stages for how it will be used.

Actually I have an old elderly friend that has an old mansion (katie holmes and tom dipstick cruise almost bought) and he pays to maintain it like someone is living there. Even keeps the hedge maze trimmed in the side yard. Also had another one that he sold a couple years ago and same thing. Kept it heated for 40 years and never lived in it. Just hoards houses but atleast he does keep up on them.

It looks like it may have been a nursing home/assisted living and the "complete house" in the hospital was probably where doctors and nurses could go to relax. It would be very interesting for you to include how many rooms these Castles have, the square feet of the mansion and how many kilometers or miles the nearest town is or isn't, without giving the name of the town. I also want to share that my Great Uncle built limousines for clients with special armor plating all over and under the vehicles and all the glass was bullet proof. His clients were sheiks, presidents and kings. I was able to visit his home and factory once as a teenager. He showed us a few vehicles and introduced us to his German Shephard guard dog. I still have a picture of myself with the dog. Unfortunately, they only had one daughter so there was no one to leave the business too and so he just closed the business when he retired and they sold a lot of the land for other homes to be built. Talk about Castles, He and my Great Aunt lived in one. They had money so they spared no expense to build the home for their comfort. They even built a 3rd floor for Her Father to live in his retirement years. He lived to be 101.

Another great video, thanks guys 👍 I agree with your impression that this was a care / nursing home. communal areas in the main house, bedrooms and staff areas in the side building. industrial-scale kitchens in the basement. Maybe the furnished apartment you showed at the end was assigned to the manager who lived onsite? Have to say, the furniture in the main building looks like it’s mostly reproduction, not original antiques. Another sign that this place was repurposed for commercial use, maybe sometime in the 1980’s or 1990’s - looks very posh, can imagine the fees must have been very high! Cars are from the 1990’s / early 2000’s. Mercedes stopped using the stand-up emblem around then, not sure exactly what year, we had a vintage 1994 model for a while and it still had the traditional emblem, i know it was discontinued shortly after. Take care and ‘peace out’ as you say 😜

This castle was built during WW2 and had a rather eventful history afterwards. Regarding all the medical gear, it was first used for treating tuberculosis of the lung, then as a home for the mentally ill and later explicitly for elderly mentally ill. To call it "around Berlin" is a bit of a stretch, it's actually closer to Hamburg. I don't know, maybe to foreigners every place in Germany is near Berlin. Or mentioning Berlin will generate more klicks...

It's very mind-boggling WHY all the furniture, crystal, and personal things were left behind. I hope you can inform us later if you're able to get any new information. By the tiny look at the wine set (glasses & flask) in the blonde wood China cabinet, it was one of the most interesting sets to me because many of the sets I’ve seen pieces of but I’m not aware of having seen something so elegant and beautiful! If you were looking for the English/American word it is slipper (for those purple “shoes”). For the scale you put the brass weights ( in grams) on the flat plate end then slowly and slowly add whatever substance you want to weigh onto the scoop end. It could have been a hospital for people without severe acute illness/injuries. They use chair lifts for anyone physically unable to completely help themselves and the handicapped, not just elderly, and they’ve found that it’s better for the staff. The monocycle is called a unicycle in the USA. Thanks

Hey Crystal, thank you so much for enjoying the exploration! The secret passage was indeed a highlight, and navigating such a large place can be quite an adventure. It's interesting how everything seemed well-preserved, especially the community rooms for patients. The random discoveries like the US badge added to the intrigue. Regarding my academic journey, I actually completed my bachelor's degree but decided not to pursue a doctorate. I took some time off due to illness, which allowed me to reflect deeply. Right now, I'm drawn to neuropsychology and neuroscience, and I'm considering a career in that field in the future. But for now, I'm planning to move to Portugal in two years, continue exploring, traveling, and enjoying life while I'm young. Thanks for your support and for being part of this journey!
