This campaign was really good but WAY too short. You could tell they originally wanted it to be longer, there were mechanics that just screamed for more but it was cut way down in favor of MP. It's a shame because despite the hate the game got this is one of the stronger campaigns in COD.
real shame is they never developed the SDF motives and personalities further than the generic might makes right-mentality. Would have made sense if the lore specified they had such animosity towards earth due to unfair recourse-taxes leading to mass starvation, or an apartheid system where non-earthers were seen as lower class or something, then their villainy would have made sense at least
@@karlwikman3874 Again that didn't really matter to me at all. I have to compression the SDF motivus and goals to real life and that's I why I consider them as Man Baddie and not Mr Jon Snow
This game actually has potential to have a perfect campaign.I liked the campaign, but I wish they made a huge battle campaigns like Battlefront 2005 and Battlefield 2 Modern Combat, imagine a ground to space combat mode for this map. :)
@@nickd920 not starting an argument but battlefield 2042 has many problems I’ll start from least fucked to most fucked the bugs so many bugs my Xp won’t add up iv died and now my cameras over all my vehicles have been reset I’ll fucking set them up again walking through walls hitting the ground at high speed and I’m ok unable to load data spawning infront or enemy’s unable to connect to EA servers no loadouts where are my loadouts? All I can use is the default m5 wer being deployed into battle and my firend is stuck in the aircraft an invisible platform on the map ourglass smashing into buildings with a jet and I’m ok phaseing through the sand dunes my helicopter can’t turn to the left when someone dies there body fiys around this guy won’t die even tho I’m shooting him over and over the game has started but I’m stuck in the map vlew enemy’s floating around can’t revive teammates if they are close to a wall my firend is level 69 not a problem but very funny falling into the elevator shaft getting yeeted into space iv died and can’t respawn and finely if I knife a ladder at the right spot I get yeeted
There’s a lot that makes this my second favourite campaign of the COD franchise. The dialogue is well written, the characters are so likeable and Ethan is a bloody brobot.
Thats exactly what I said! Infinite Warfares campaign was always my 2nd favorite along with Modern Warfare 2019s campaign at my top all time favorite!!
One of the best CoD campaigns and universes. MP was meh. But overall it didnt really deserve the hate it got. Had this whole game been released as something other than the CoD title, it would have received a lot of love.
This was, in my opinion the best campaign. And a revolutionary one that I'm not sure why COD hasn't tried again. Imagine this in WWII with you in charge of a naval taskforce and your mission is to just win the war. Back and forthe between piloting, RTS and then ground ops (You choose what to do when) and the AI actively works against you trying to defeat you at the strategic level. It'd be nuts.
that's not gonna happen in Cod game. Maybe a couple of good thing every now and then, but never packed into one game. Its backbone is still Arcade Shooter with a little nod of mil-sim, and that's it.
Task Force Admiral but you only being the commander of the Fleet unlike Battlestation Midway & Pacific where you can directly control the units Honestly a game with a huge pacific campaign would be amazing but ambitious to create Might as well compile the games and play them each Wanna fight Naval fleet with ships + planes? Battlestation games Command entire fleet? Task Force Admiral Wanna fight them from island to island? COD WAW & Medal of Honor games We need more FPS campaign set in japan instead of just PVP games
One thing I didn't like, nor could even accept in any way possible, is the need for silencers in space! Seriously, they're in mother fucking space! Why the fuck would they need silencers?!
@@nicktechnubyte1184 you're right it is stupid, the supressors in space, but they may be useful if you are trying to sneek on a ship and once you are inside you dont want the shots to give you away.
It makes sense that if there was space fighters, they would be based on existing designs that are already in use today. This is called a design lineage. Its consistent with aircraft companies that old, modern and future craft would carry on particular design traits. For example. The F-16 its nose and cockpit design continues on in the F-22 . The F-15 shares a similar trait in the YF-23 and its cockpit and nose are close to the F-4 phantom The F-5 Freedom fighter shares many similarities in design with the F-18s and the Super Hornets. The A-10 shares similarities with several Fairchild designs from trainers to jet liners specifically in the nose.
According to the lore, the Jackal was designed for the Indian space program, but was adopted by every nation withn the operational envelope of the UNSA
@@dylandevlin2102 I think the SDF ships outnumbered and overwhelm the Stolen Olympus Mons. But when the Olympus Mons comes for the first time and destroys our side ships, it is i think due to element of surprise and the UNSA only has a few ships there, not enough to overwhelm the Olympus Mons.
@@dylandevlin2102 i think its due to fewer ships from UNSA at the Olympus Mons First appearance thats not enough to Overwhelm them. And many UNSA Ships are Destroyed By their own hijacked AATIS Guns in the Parade. While the SDF fleet can beat the UNSA SCAR team Hijacked and controlled Olympus Mons as they have enough ships to overwhelm the Olympus Mons. And if i remember, in the mission where you use the Olympus Mons F-Spar you can see other SDF ships comming and dropping from their FTL travel sequence. So the SDF also sends in their other ships from the other parts of Solar System to overwhelm The UNSA SCAR team controlled Olympus Mons. But our side aka UNSA cant overwhelm the Olympus Mons at its first appearance as many of their ships were destroyed by the Hijacked AATIS guns in the Fleet Parade or Fleet Week.
@@camostudios7347 typically those in charge deliberately make sure we are vulnerable when they know an attack is likely on purpose and it's not about doing the right thing, it's always about greed and power.
I sometimes completely forget that Infinity Ward spends well over nine digits for their campaign stories. No matter how mid the stories are there's always the Hollywood spectacle, getting closer and closer to becoming a fully fledged interactable action movie. The cinematography, sound design and CG are comparable to actual movies and it's fantastic.
Think about it like your taste buds. Everyone has different tastes. Food wise and hobby wise as well. Soon you might like different things more and maybe the things you hated become something you love
I genuinely believe that if this was its own game, and wasn't made as a "Call of Duty" game, that it would probably have done a lot better, and been loved by many more. I myself hated this game back when it first came out, and at the time wanted COD to return to something from the past or modern style combat, instead of the futuristic stuff they kept doing at the time. But now, looking back, the campaign was honestly like a movie. It was amazing.
the issue is that the campaign was lacking, the gunplay was pretty much the same as the game before and they invested to much for the Multiplayer and yet still failed on that so yeah that why this game was hated that and the fact that people where getting bored of Sci-Fi like this game came out After Shadow Fall, Deus Ex, Titan Fall 1 and 2, Halo 5, Mass Effect 3, Destiny ...
@@aoki6332 People were literally saying that they wanted "Something different" so they gave them a Sci-Fi version and one where you ain't a ground soldier. Then people just out of nowhere went "WE WANT TO BE BACK ON THE GROUND!!"
@@sleepingrrandom2876 dude that the issue people where bored of the same stuff over and over again so what do they do ? lets go from modern combat to another saturated genre but only go in like halfway what could go wrong now where part of two overstatured genre
This game still has so much potential to continue a good story. All they need is a new character and the aftermath of how both Mars and Earth are dealing with the situation. The best "Tact" as the Admiral suggested should've been take at least more than a few ships out of the Fleet Week Parade.
Sitting on their asses then getting surprised, wrecked and have to desperately ruin everything for revenge when they knew it was coming all along is the most American thing ever.
Would have been such a great success, if they had made it fully singleplayer and released MP as a separate game. And the campaign was too heavy scripted, I wish it was more open. You barely had time to see all the details or have fun walking, flying & shooting around.
I love that the player is actually a competent CoD player: aggressively pushes at the correct times, accurately prosecutes targets of opportunity, and religiously uses cover and grenades.
The story of this game although generic Good vs Evil was quite unique for me because it talks about our future, what if fascism still exists and it is in Mars?
This was Activision's most unique COD game. A CALL OF DUTY game set in space was a fucking fever dream, and I was around during this time period! To this day, we deserve INFINITE WARFARE 2.
This COD game story was cinematic asf 🔥🔥🙏🏽 really loved this game it has BS on the MP but i dont complain fully into that.. btw this game graphics still holds to this day !
The campaign is good. But imagine if it’s real life the whole fleet would be destroyed if not immobile and weapons systems damaged. And they’re just floating or falling to earth, while half the enemy fleet is raining hell fire down onto them.
I firmly believe if Activision were to say "we're making an Infinite Warfare" sequel today, people would be far more enthusiastic than they were in 2016. The campaign was one of the best since Black Ops 2
Wait.... in space age... where the aggressors are on different planets... the "iron shield" is surface mounted kinetic weapons? How's that going to defend against orbital bombardment? I don't even mean surface destroying cannons or whatever, just... kinetic weapon like ODIN. All they need is a couple ships that carry a payload of mass weapon... bam, no more cities. Easy retrofit onto any ship. Also, it is all controlled in *one* location that is above ground, which can be taken over by one rogue agent? Really? I'm sorry but if that was their idea of space defense, they deserve all this and more. I know this might be done for plot convenience but... at least make it more elaborate? Maybe multiple agents targeting multiple control hub on multiple different defense system or whatever? All they need is change and add a couple lines of dialogue (you go to this control center, we have teams toward the others etc etc). P.S. Obviously, this have nothing to do with the uploader of this video, as there is no control there. This is a comment/complaint on the content of the game itself.
I dont know why this game got so much stick, the campaign storyline was brilliant as last great campaign was Modern warfare 2. I know people wanted old school like ww2 and modern warfsre and when they did get it it was good but still did not repeat past success
My friends and I would play multiplayer - I’d always still use the old fashioned Garand and still own them as they are using laser tech against me XD XD XD
1) You would think that they would have anticipated that the structure controlling all the big guns might be of interest for enemy infiltration. 2) You would think that the enemy would have anticipated that after taking control of structure controlling all the big guns, that it would be subject to being re-taken, and in such an event be prepared to sabotage it rather than stand around looking stupid and getting shot when the door was breached and allowing those big guns to then be turned on your invasion fleet.
1) They did anticipate the fact that the SDF posed a large threat and could attack anytime but due to the politicians decision, the fact was ignored and general rained had no power to act on this until a war breaks out. It shows you this in the first cutscenes. 2)It is possible but the AATIS gun were controlled by SDF operatives which were undercover for an extended period of time. Setting up charges to sabotage these guns could bring up a lot of suspicion and lead to the failure of the entire SDF plan. Either way the SDF main goals were achieved, to diminish the SATO fleet into nothing but two ships, and a few battalions of highly motivated soldiers.
Honestly, if Activision just released this as its own IP it'd be received a lot better; make it a prequel to Destiny or a dedicated game adaptation of The Expanse, which the campaign is clearly based on.
Fuck this game was so cool. This is back when a CoD game could flop because of bad multiplayer and it didn't matter how good the campaign was. That kind of shit is why we never got more of this setting.
I think the game shoulve had more moments with multiple USA warships the designs were so cool only the 1 st mission really shows multiple ships in action together before getting obliterated and the final ship that flys over you before the retribution runs into the Olympus should’ve lived the F-Spar never went off visually
