Yes! That’s exactly what it was. She told me she made the wax ball too small, then her primary care pushed it in deeper with a Q tip. I made an explanation video on my channel if y’all were interested
Ontario Canada, im very impressed with your video and your gentle manner. I wish you were my sons ENT. He's been dizzy for months. All the tests that he has had, and still no answers
Kentucky. I've had some painful ear plugs in the past that required several days of softening at home before the doctor could remove it. Oh, what a relief once it was out! My dad used to have the same problems, so we think the ear wax buildup is genetic, but don't know for sure.
SE Missouri here. The camera work was spot on and edited very well. Your gentleness was perfect. Your choice of "tools" was good. Overall "Ya done good" * * music was a little distracting but tolerable
This is the second of your video I have listened to and I must say that I like hearing your voice rather than the music. I wish you well and hope your channel does well!
Do you think some local anesthetic such as Lidocaine could have helped? Or, 5mg of Valium orally - assuming they're not a regular user or diazepam. I do realize that diazepam is not a pain medication per se, but in my own experience I've found patients feel "dozzy" enough that they don't seem to care about the pain.
Definitely a consideration! Using some viscous lidocaine could help out. I avoid putting anything in the ear until I know what’s going on because I need to access the ear drum. I see a lot of patients with perforations after another provider attempts cleaning. So I almost never instill the canal with liquids. She was an add on to clinic at the end of the day cause she couldn’t get into any other ENT clinic and I was happy to fit her in. In general, she wasn’t in overt pain during the procedure. Like I would try an instrument gently and she would wince if it hurt. So then I just tried a different approach or instrument. Yeah, since it’s a clinic I just don’t have immediate access to Valium or equivalent. Good points though!
Hello, what a great initial video. I have subscribed to your channel and look forward to more videos. I have a request.. please can you record your patients’ reactions of relief when they have a huge build up of wax successfully removed? There are many earwax videos on RU-vid. But hardly any record their patients’ reactions. I would love to see this!
That was a wax ear plug shoved too far into the ear canal. I have used these for years because my husband snores. They do cut out about 75% of the noise.
Your video was very interesting. My health provider told me to use Mineral Oil to get the wax out of my ears. Well I did that and when I went to my hearing doc he says just a very little wax was there....but not a problem. I do wear hearing aids through. (Northern CA)
That looked like a wax plug that is sold to block out sound. I used to use them for my husband’s snoring before he got a CPAP. But whatever it was great job for extracting it so gently.
Fantastic. I don’t think we consider the health of our ear canals. Very important because as we age and notice hearing loss we realise how precious it is to have clear hearing. It is miserable to have age hearing loss. My saying is “if they can think of putting a man on Mars why oh why can’t they create a perfect hearing aid!????
Don't understand your last comment about us letting you know where we're from; how does that help the patient, the procedure, or any of the viewers here?
