My daughter has been to Guatemala twice on a missionary trip thru her church. She just loves going over their. Her church has an annual fall sell to raise money to feed the children. They sell coffee from Guatemala, cakes made by the ladies in the church and pumpkins, donated by local farmers. I always by 5 or 6 just for decorating for fall, because it's such a good cause. Love the items you found. I know your going to make them more beautiful. That one big basket looked like a Longaberger basket. If so that size sold for 100.00. They sold their company a couple of years ago.

Mrs.Julie, on the plate holders, instead of plates, they can hold rolled up bath towels or in a kids room can hold pre rolled up kids school clothes for the week so all they have to do is get that days set and that speeds up them getting ready for school or daycare etc.

Julie, I have a 3 plate holder for the wall but I use it to store/ display my usable cutting boards. I can fit 2 or 3 cutting boards in each plate holder.

That chair would have been snapped up...most likely by a reseller! I'm glad you got it! It would be cute with an all green vine print material, to cover the seat, and set it on a porch, near a lot of plants!

The plate holders I find make great rolling pin display.

Do you ever use a paint sprayer for larger, or intricate decor, that "is a pain to paint"? It saves so much time, if you set aside projects by what color you plan to paint them, then paint them all together, and while they dry, pick the next color, and paint those items. Using aresol spray paint makes it easier, because there's no cleanup in between colors. Canned spray paint comes in so many different types and finishes now. I've even seen chalk paint, and enamel paint is good for many surfaces. It changes a project from a chore that is a burden, to art, crafting, and creating.

GREAT finds!! I would have loved to use that round gold mirror as a tray. I LOVED that big, chunky, ornate frame that you passed on. It would have been beautiful painted black with a glaze. LOVED the green chair and the white cart too!!

today i have an amazing day...i got frames big and ornate ones..one large mirror...some metal decor...and the list goes one and one all for FREE....love it....and then someone gift me an 100 year old singer machine...needs repair but the cabinet is a score by itself...ahhhh....love when my father in heaven bless me like that...

I am surprised you didn’t grab that blue door with the painting and metalwork inside!! Also, I sure hope you didn’t paint the vintage canister set!! They are sought after as of right now…!! I love what her son is doing in Guatemala! My son went on missions there with a doctor and helped with surgeries there….❤

@@JuliesDesignsandSigns They don't have specific markings they are just a notable piece by the design, if you Google Lloyd loom and have a look,there are a few different designs but the one you showed is im pretty sure a early design..I've just looked on the Lloyd loom website..if its pre 1950 no markings were left on the furniture, after that date the legs bottoms are detailed square it says, I'd send you the page I look at but I can't find a option to send.

Am I a lamp person? My hubby is rolling in the floor! I have at least 4 in each room and it is never enough!! I cannot stand garish and harsh overhead lighting. I can’t imagine getting up in the middle of the night with a sick kid and having to turn on a harsh overhead light. I have an addiction to lamps FOR SURE. Much the same as you love basket, heehee! You found awesome stuff!!

@@JuliesDesignsandSigns my house actually looks much the same except it is from multiple 100 watt lamp sources stationed perfectly in each cozy spot. And we do often even include the overhead lights but only when we need to perform surgery, just joking. I am addicted to the coziness that lamps provide but that is simply a choice, neither right or wrong just what this crazy old lady likes. My husband would just as soon flip on and off the overhead but lovingly puts up with my addiction. I know I am not the only one who has a lamp ‘problem’. Please never take anything I say as negativity towards you dear! That is the ugly thing about these comment boxes and strangers because we can never hear the tone or teasing note here and don’t know if the person is mean or just joking.

Lucky you! Great haul. I had to laugh to myself when you said you were looking for dolls for Wren. Last yr when my granddaughter was 4 I bought her a really expensive baby doll for Christmas. I thought she'd love it, but when she opened it she started to cry because she wanted dinosaurs. Lol. She got in trouble with her parents for being ungrateful, and luckily I had bought her a dinosaur so she got what she wanted. A yr later she's playing with the doll and the dinosaurs are history. Lol Love the cart and green chair!!!

I love lamps....I think they really make a room cozy. I have 4 in my den and at least 2 in each bedroom. I don't like bright overhead lights except in the kitchen. I really love that wicker chair too. My grandmother in England had one in front of her vanity when I was a little girl.
