@TylerJohnstonGuitar
AeroGuitar, when you play guitar but hate yourself for it.
@theoryofmine7473
I bet Stevie T LOVES the thing.
@Game4Lord
Gonna chime in here as a guitarist of 20 years. Pain in the tips of the fingers is something to be expected, not avoided. It helps build calluses, and strength in the hand. If an individual actively goes out of their way to avoid it, they'll never improve, nor gain the strength they need in their hands to be a proficient player.
@_NoDrinkTheBleach
This seems like the sort of product that you'd see on an infomercial, with an Esteban style pitch man telling you how it's a great gift idea for your grandkids for 3 easy payments of $49.99. Sending this out to actual guitar players with strong opinions was always going to be the wrong plan for a product like this. And thinking that the threatening emails weren't going to get out is pro level ignorance.
@stuartmiller7419
For people who wish to pretend to play guitar without having to learn how to play guitar, I would recommend Air Guitar (the original) as it's cheaper and it works better than the product that is being discussed here but no-one is allowed to talk about objectively. It also lasts forever and you'll never need to throw it out.
@cigilovic
Back in 1998 I started practicing on my sister's nylon string without any guidance. I then got some chromatic exercises from her guitarist friend and just sat down and practiced them for hours. That burning feel of my fingers and seeing how I started taking control of my fingers was the best feeling I have ever had in my life. When I see these kinds of products, I'm immediately turned off as these completely ignore journey and the pleasure. No thanks! :)
@CarloRegadasGuitar
There's nothing boring, for me anyway, about listening to a Stratocaster through a DOD 250 or a YJM overdrive, or similar voiced overdrive. In the right hands, it can sound far from boring but I get that RU-vid guitar drama is what gets the algorithms cooking. Every popular guitar channel is doing their video of why they didn't review the product in question. That was way more predicable (boring?) than a decent overdrive pedal review, like Elmo Karjialainen and the likes do.
@DennisAlvarezMusic
This video really shows why your channel is a very needed thing on RU-vid. As you stated, for $600 you could actually buy a decent, even gig-able rig. Especially if you buy used gear. I don't remember my sore finger tips being a big issue when I was 9 years old and learning my first chords.
@frankwebster9110
This is the third video I've seen about this stupid product. I think it's important that these videos are made to warn people about scam products. Apparently there's a Kickstarter involved. Their aggressive tactics show that the product is nothing more than a very expensive($500) gimmick. Thanks KDH
@user-ds4cd6kc3f
You're not the only reviewer that got threatened by this company for a well-deserved negative review for an utterly stupid product.
@Bobby-wn5yr
Side note: I’ve taught over 20 people to play bass over the years; if your fingers are hurting when you’re learning, most commonly you’re pressing too hard. Make sure your bass is set up properly and it shouldn’t take so much force to fret notes. Stay loose, bass isn’t played rigidly - you’re in the rhythm section now!
@cowfangirl420
i hate the whole mindset of “learning an instrument sucks, our product helps u skip that as much as possible” that people use as a marketing thing. i learned several instruments when i was younger playing in orchestras and now i started self teaching bass this year and the process of getting the hang of it is some of the best feeling stuff. of course it’s not easy but there’s this wonderful sensation of each time i pick up an instrument feeling more confident and better sounding that time than i did before and i think skipping that, aside from just not being how learning works, would make it a worse experience.
@MrBrian-fq4lr
Derek Paul Guitar made a glowing review of the Aeroguitar. Which has now conveniently been deleted. Whoops.
@VedunianCraft
Another useless product that preys on people that believe there is an extra comfortable way in achieving something by throwing money at it.
@markbernier8434
I will just mention as an aside, on the custom guitar, if the door it was upcycled from is 120 years old and is a solid slab, the actual tree it came from is likely from the 1750's or earlier.
@PerpetuallyTiredMusician
I think its funny that people still think there is a "life hack" or a way to bypass practice and learning. As a multi instrumentalist in my early 40s... There simply arent any. Either you enjoy the musicianship part of the artform or you dont. If you dont then I recommend going out and finding another artform that suits you (no harm done really). They all require lots of learning and time spent but one will eventually come along that speaks to you where the labour of learning becomes the "fun" and instead of wondering for how long you have to practice you will wonder why you always seem to lose track of time when practicing.
@onbedoeldekut1515
I tell learners that if their fingers hurt, they're pressing too hard.
@martynridley3671
The e-mails they sent to Andy (Guitar Geek) were probably the biggest mistake they could have made. They must be kicking themselves so hard right now. They've highlighted their own crap product 10 fold, probably more. What, did they think that you guys weren't going to talk with each other?! Anyway, well done all of you for hanging on to your integrity and telling it like it is.
@jamowallace
Jesus man! For that price I bought a second hand Boss Katana 2x12 and an Epiphone Les Paul Custom!!
@tomfoolery342
That guitar belongs on the shelf of (The now defunct) Toys-R-Us for $39.99🤣
