I have so enjoyed this series! I recently bought a tree from my local feed store and want to learn as much as I can. When you said how much we take for granted I have to agree. This might sound crazy....but when I say grace, I often silently thank God for everything it took to produce the food. Like a hamburger, I give thanks for the farmers who raised the lettuce and tomatoes, the wheat farmers for the buns, the cattleman who provided the beef, and of course the rain and sunshine, etc.

That is a great looking coffee plant, I have a elephant plant that I take outside dearing the summer, but its so big, so my husband bought this thing that has wheels on it, its helped so with turning the plant in winter so that all sides get sun. I turn it once are twice a week. Love you channel. God bless your harvest

Wow! How exciting to see a coffee plant that has a lot of fruit, inside the house. I couldn't believe that it can actually thrive in a pot? Anyway, watching you harvest the coffee, reminded me of my childhood. My family had that exact kind of coffee plant by our house, which my mom calls it a hybrid one, because the fruits are way bigger than the regular coffee. And yeah, I do remember my mom just gather only the ones that are really ripe. Then, she would crash the beans to take the seeds out, and then roast them straight up in the cast iron, stirring them over and over until it turns dark. Lastly, my mom would grind the beans really fine, storing them in a tight container. Here comes the best part, when my mom brewed the coffee, the aroma was amazing!! It smelled so good and yummy I'm sure. Unfortunately, I don't drink coffee because its too bitter for me. Thank you for sharing your coffee plant video.

In Hawaii they make a wonderful drink called "Kona red" from the red coffee beans. Its is so good and sweet also. Only pick the real rip ones. Harvest of a whole tree takes a month or more, because the rippens at differnt times.

Splendid presentation! A coffee tree in every window! I recall a pamphlet from the coffee industry that described an office entrace lobby somewhere that had a giant climate controlled terrarium hermetically sealed to achieve high altitude simulated growing conditions and growing on this display were coffee trees. Disheartend and discouraged by the complexity, I sort of gave up ever trying right there. I am so impressed with your experiment. Absolutely splendid that you dared to think "outside the box". Keep up the good work. I'll consider getting my feet wet perhaps with an indoor coffee tree someday soon. What a cheerful prospect. I look forward to checking out any and all the details you have already made available and certainly future follow ups. Here is something I learned from a roaster I know: well kept unroasted coffee beans can be aged safely for a very, very long time. And in his opinion only improve with age. I dont know what the upper limit is but he accidently put aside several pounds and rediscovered the stash 16 years later. This surprised me, he was confident and laughed at my scepticism and invited me to have a cup after he roasted some. It was perfectly delicious if not improved. And I am somewhat discriminating. Now of course I'll go and find out you know all about aged coffee beans already. Cheers!
