I bought my string of turtles back in March off Etsy as cuttings, it has been cut back 2x AND even flowered within 5 months of having it... The humidity of beach life here in Wilmington NC does wonders for this plant 🌱
never saw siltipecana in the shop 😍😱 on the other hand variegated string of hearts is pretty popular and easy to find in Poland and they sell long ones already, funny how opposite it is in diferrent countries 🙃
I wonder if it's because of the big boom here in the United States with plants that once people start seeing something like string of Hearts be so long and beautiful they want that plant and there are many more buyers here in the United States then in Europe. You also have great nurseries there in Holland that provide a lot of grape plants
@@kathleenmurphy2379 you are right, many rare plants are delivered from Holland to other countries in Europe, but some of them from Thailand directly :)
But we have some plants that you buy in Walmart, like Cebu Blue, that are being rare in PL. For just 4 leafs i paid 10 euro. Yes, we sell just small cuttings of it :D
I’ve been dreaming of a prostrata for so long 😭 haven’t been able to find one in Los Angeles though and those $20 for a 2 inch pot listings online aren’t worth lol I don’t think they’d even survive the shipping process
I just got mine from spokaneplantfarm.com for $7.99. It was a 2.5" pot but it was trailing already so I planted it in a 4.5" pot and it’s full. They’re out of them now but they’ve restocked them several times this fall. It shipped well, no leaves lost 👍
I love everything you got 😍 I just picked up a Peperomia hope and variegated string of hearts from green acres a few weeks ago too! Looks like I need to visit flori-culture again because they always such an amazing selection or rare Hoyas and orchids. The owner is such a knowledgeable and kind guy too!
You but quite a few is my wishlist plants number one is the variegated string of hearts! I'd also love to have string of turtles! Some of the other plants were great fines also especially that last one that lost two leaves. You could put those leaves but it's probably too late in water and enjoy them and they'll last a couple weeks sometimes in water. I've done that when I had to break off a leaf to put a stem and water for propagation like my Brazil philodendron. I have a huge one maybe next year we could do a plant exchange of some cuttings I think I have some that you don't have. Especially a couple begonias the angel wing begonias
Your turtles should do really well in that pot... it seems to have good media, and they love to hang. The key is bright light, water well (try once a week), then let dry out a bit... think of it like a semi-succulent. If it gets too dry, the leaves will pucker a bit. Then it will grow fast! I want that Rhipsalis Paradox!!!!
Also some people online are giving their Hoyas and string of Hearts String of Pearls some of the spray fertilizer that's sold to put on Orchids. Since that fertilizer is very weak and if you sprayed them once a week you're giving them a little bit extra nitrogen and I think that helps the plants we can't fertilize often with our watering day! I also love the spray bottles because after you use the solution that's in the bottle you can peel that label off and then use it as a mister and it gives a much finer spray than most things we used to mist our plants with during the day! As you know I have a lot of orchids and I do put them in a nutrient solution whenever I water them once a week soaking them in a Tucker tote that's what I do with things that are going to dry out quickly if you get the media nice and wet it doesn't hurt the plant as long as you let it dry out before you water it again. But things like string of hearts just barely water them because their Roots Don't Go the whole way in the soil and if the bottom of the soil stays wet because there aren't any Roots there it will get rot I'm so glad you posted another video. I'm sure I'm not the only one that misses you and your hubby out enjoying the day in the sunshine and around the green plants! by the way your dog didn't see himself in in the camera lens are in the camera screen he saw another dog in his mind that's why he was growling he didn't want the other dog to get near you! Our pets through the years have seen themselves in a mirror and start hissing or growling because they don't realize it's them teehee!! Animals are amazing and your puppy was being loyal to you trying to protect you from a strange dog haha! Can't wait to see your next video
I have a string of turtles that I got in the summer. It's in about the same sized pot as yours but plastic. It didn't do a thing for me until it started to cool down outside. Now it's finally started trailing over the edge of the pot with lots of lovely little turtles 😊😊 Don't worry, it will happen for you too!
Wow Jolene you got some beautiful plants, the Rhipsalis is amazing, I have never seen this one in person. I have the string of turtles, I got it at Lowe's in a 6 inch pot about 7 months ago and it flowers all the time and grows not too fast but it's growing super good. I also have small peperomia hope that I got from my daughter's mother plant. I would like to find the Monstera Siltipicana. The string of hearts variegated is on my wish list, I have the regular one, it was from cuttings that my daughter had sent to me from a plant shop on Etsy in Portland, it is finally trailing. that prostata is easy to grow, i even treat it like grass, yeah just take couples of cuttings and then just spread it / mulch it on the soil or maybe on soil under other plants and just water they will grow like weed, but sun is important , yeah , a lot of light definitely, once i put them in shade and it just grow slower , yeah put it on a place that get a lot of light, they even have tiny cute pink white-ish flowers
