Not so bad these days. Back in the early eightys and for quite a long time after it was a 3 day epic journey to make it to a hospital on the mainland:/ Quite a few surfers died from the bloody falciparum malaria! If you were not smart enough to carry "Fansidar" you had three days max to get help or its all over:/
