Very much enjoy your approach to this sandwich. No mayonnaise, that's French. The meat, yeah whatever you like, mix it up. I used to run an automotive shop and a restaurant owner from Little Italy in San Diego was one of my customers in the '90s. The best bread ever. I learned the ins and outs of making a good Italian Sandwich. Yours is very good. Thanks for sharing.
As a native Long islander I have to say "Fuhgeddaboudit!". Great job! The only thing I would do differently is to add some mild sopressata, and I would use roasted red peppers and black olives instead of the giardiniera. Plus I would put a nice layer of mayo on the top bread...I think it enhances the flavor of the vegetables. I'm gonna make one right now!
That IS an Italian sub, wow! Thanks for reminding everyone to make the sandwich as they like it. No need to complain if you don’t like the ingredients. There’s more than one way to make things. For me, I think half of the sandwich would be an appetizer...😳😆.
Thanks very much for watching! I sincerely appreciate it 🙏. Yes, just like any food, the best way is your way lol. People get too hung up on traditions that they don’t have to follow.
@@EverydayBBQ your absolutely right about making the Italian that you like, this one sub has a number of "official" variations from the old country lol and is made in most sub shops by those they feel is their favorite. I worked in a sub/pizza shop when I was in high school and made that sub a little differently than what the owner did, and always got regulars coming back to have my version which I now share with my friends and family. do you bro awesome looking eats and a real crowd pleaser to boot.
1 piece of advice for the viewers... If you've never tried it, try using piccante provolone instead of the cheap provolone most people buy/use. Tastes amazing. Boar's Head makes a fantastic piccante provolone.
You always make the biggest and best sandwiches. This is the perfect sub sandwich for me, but I'm not an Italian from Chicago, so what do I know. 😎. Nicely Done. Thanks for sharing. 😎.
An Italian sub is probably my top favorite sub/sandwich...and this is amazing :) so good !! Agree the vinegar and oil is essential. That is why I get the baby spinach at Subway and not lettuce. Great idea for making this as a hearty appetizer. I'll take one...or two....or three haha ! Thanks for sharing :)
I used to do that when my girls were younger. They could come. In and grab a piece. Thier friends loved it to. They would gather aound our door in summer time when they saw Katie comeoutside with her lunch. It was convienient and everybody loved it.
Hi mate, as an Italian myself I'd say that mixing oil and vinegar isn't Italian at all. The Prosciutto used in the video looks more like "lonza", prosciutto has oval shape with fat on one side. Beside I appreciate the alternative version of the panino. Greetings from Florence!!
Thatsa great looking sandwich! I have to agree...the right way is how you like to make it. I think Tony Soprano would be proud of your Italian Sub! Good job! Yum! 😋
Holy crap that's a big sandwich...lol. I bout died when you mentioned subway because that's what we had tonight. I told the wife to tell them to go easy on the lettuce. Looks good as usual and happy birthday to your daughter. Cheers dude.
Outstanding job brother. Have you ever tried the old "wrap it tightly in foil for 10-15 minutes" trick, it kinda packs it all nicely together. You are correct, what folks gotta realize is that most of your videos are about procedure and not so much about strictly following a recipe. Now can someone help me out, we all know that "T's" favorite was gabagool , is that it's own thing or is that a Italian-American mis-pronunciation of capicola.
Oh Lord, that looks delicious brotha Mike... I'll take half of that samich...lol Cheers brotha🍺🍺 and happy bday to you daughter🎂 and many blessings🙏...
Hot damn that sub looks damn good. I live in an area that hasnt got a lot of good sub shops only 1 and its always packed thanks for video. Will be sure to make the 1st exactly like this but after that ill prob add a buncha random stuff
You took the Subway comment right out of my mouth! Not sure about it being an appetizer though, think that would be the main course! Great video like always!
I used to have food like this on the table for guests when all my friends would come over and visit. And then one day I decided to not make food anymore and realized I have no friends.

Looks great I got most of everything but no olive oil or vinegar I guess I'll use me or mustard also know that is and I'll be using salami smoked turkey smoked ham Swiss cheese White American
That does look like a very nice sandwich. I take out some of the bread too from the French Bread available to me. Straight from the bag, it is just too much bread for a saandwich. Though I imagine it makes very good garlic toast!!!!
Speaking of Giardinera that fresh version of the spicy giardinera from POP's is my favorite! You should do a channel review of Bari's over on Grand Ave. and May St. That bread they use from D'Amatos is killer for italian subs. I make mine just like yours but I would still sneak in some slices of prosciutto haha Thanks for the video!
