I am 21 and have no family but from time to time find myself enjoying your videos. You have such a calm and positive demeanor and seem so organized and on top of everything that had a sort of relieving 'everything will be ok' effect on me. Best to you and your family!
Looks like you guys did great this trip! We are a family of 7 and are blessed to have a great little thrift store in our small town. We are able to get clothing $2 a bag. Such a blessing!
now do you go through and wash everything I'm so happy that you found this great haul I did for my husband a few weeks ago and was able to get name brand pants and shirts Van Huesen & Dockers ,Lands End I was so proud for weeks lol

Great finds! I always shop the thrift stores first and then fill in with new items (great sales of course) that I can't find thrifting. I love the hunt!!!
We love the doing the same! My husband's family can't stand that I buy bigger sizes to have it last longer but I want to get as much use out of something as possible!
Kohls can also be a great place to get clothes as the seasons are changing. They let you use up to 4 coupons in one transaction, only one can be a % coupon. I just bought my little guy 11 shirts for next summer for $11.90!
love the finds, I looooovvvveee thrift shopping, I probably buy 80% of my clothes used, I have 3 kids and I also love looking for them, usually boys clothes in my boys sizes (6/6 and 10/12) are pretty well worn out by the time they are in the thrift stores but every once in a while I score for them too, and I always find things for my almost 4 year old daughter

Our thrift stores are a bit pricey in the Windy City. Don't understand... why price a shirt for $5 when I can buy a new one for around $7 on sale or something. Some offer sales and coupons but it happens once a year or so... I just spend over 500 on shoes, and 3 winter coats and a couple of pairs of shirts. I guess it isn't that bad. I am so grateful that my sister-in-law gives me her hand-me-downs for our youngest... YOU just reminded me "I" need warmer clothes for fall and winter! I love the sweater s you found...You are such a classy and beautiful woman, great taste!
enlightenedbygrace4U yes it's the same in the U.K. There are such good deals especially in the sales charity shops are more expensive, plus people sell their unwanted clothes on eBay so it's slim pickings, try eBay though search large bundles plus the sex and age , I searched designer bundle the other day and won a large Ralph Lauren bundle for ten pounds which is insane , as a shirt here can be fifty pounds , obviously it's hit and miss but you can get good bundles sometimes 😀
Ariannauk1 are you in London? As in Yorkshire we have loads of of good charity shops kids clothes 4 items for £0.99. Another has kids clothes for 49p and women and men's for £0.49-£0.99 per item.

I don't think you all have this store where you are, but we go to Value Village. I have to tell you a story of gratitude and grace... I just picked up a new winter coat for my 7 year old son and some winter boots for my 3 year old daughter for like $6 total. (although i think to coat was a tad more then the boots) both in excellent condition. Another shopper found the coat for us actually.. that was kind of her. Usually i have to defend my cart from wolves in these stores it seems, because if you step more than 2 ft away from your cart, people will start picking through it and will take what fancies them. but this shopper saw my hubby and i looking, asked what size our son was and said "oh hey.. this one here is that size! does it fit?" it did!! she grinned and said "go ahead! take it. i'm not looking for winter coats" I thanked her for her kindness. Kind people are out there!!! I still have a list of items we need, especially for winter.. and very little money to spend right now (tight month financially) so we will head back in a few weeks. I'm hoping they will have snow pants in the sizes i need. it's kinda cutting it close though. we shall see. I wanted ask you though, what do you do with the clothes you kids out grow? so say when Amelia out grows her clothes... you don't have another little girl to pass them down too... do you sell them? give them away? consign them? i can see using the gender neutral clothes for Daniel.. and I'm usually the type of mom who thinks all colours are for everyone, and i will put pink or purple on a boy if need be, but I'm going to assume that pink and sparkly aren't going to work for Daniel! lol Also... Are your boys as hard on pants as My only son is? Every pair of pants (jeans or not) my son has, have holes in either the knees or ironically, the bum! nothing of my sons can ever be given away it seems. - Candice, mom of 3 awesome daughters and 1 very patient and equally as awesome son.
I also just realized.. i haven't been clothes shopping for myself in what seems like years.... lol usually just make do with what i have on hand.. but i noticed today that my favourite pair of jeans are starting to fray at the knees.... what do i think when i see that? "could i find a cute little patch to put over this?" lol I'll wear out my own clothes until they are rags (i literally have a pair of pj's that are ripped, and i still were them) because all extra money goes towards the kids or the house... lol its funny and slightly sad too.

I really appreciate this because i am an avid thrift shopper! We have 4 young children (ages 7,5, and 4 year old twin boys) and as you can relate, every penny saved counts!! I am amazed,constantly, by the things I find in thrift stores and garage sales... It’s very hard for me to even buy anything in a regular store.

I love shopping at the thrift store for clothes for me and my family it really is a great way to save on clothes for everyone and save a lot of money, $300 for your whole family that is fantastic for all the things you got!!!!! Love hearing baby Daniel run around the house :)
I love thrift shops. I usually go for cookware. Every now and then I find heavy duty high end stainless steel cookware such as fry pans, sauce pots and kettles. The brands sell starting at over $50 per piece and up in stores but I bought each one, over the years, for about $3 each. I also found a ceramic crockpot liner to replace the one I cracked for $2. And Ball brand canning jars for as low as 10 cents each :-)

I agree I am a size 3 xl and it's hard to find my size in my local thrift stores and my son to hea a tall one and I find them to fit his waist but always to short in the legs..
I am in the same boat here. I will be thrift shopping for long sleeve shirts and some more pants for my son very soon. NC is usually around 2 weeks behind Virginia with leaves changing and cold spells. Hearing you say you can feel it coming, tells me to get shopping. Love the multicolored striped sweater for Daniel. It will go with all sorts of pants. You did a great job shopping. Bet you are really tired though.
I love my local thrift store. My last amazing haul were boots. I got 3 pair of great winter boots in new condition. All expensive brands and paid $16 total. One pair of boots would be more expensive. I always get name brand. I buy all the gap skinny jeans i see because i love them. I am always dressed in my thrift finds and my home is decorated from the thrift store as well. Its such a great way to get nice things on a budget.

Loved the purple crochet sweater, burnt orange and tan cardigan for you as well. Sometime we mamas just need a few "new" pieces of clothing to make our whole wardrobe feel fresh again. Loved all the sparkly shirts for your daughter and that striped sweater for Daniel and those kakis will be adorable. I've been wanting to take an inventory and purge our closets for months and go do a good will haul but hasn't happen yet....maybe soon.
I have 5 kids (from ages 14 to age 2) and we do almost all the shopping at the thrift store. We do have a goodwill that does clothes by the pound but you really have to go when you don't have the kids because it takes twice as long to sort through everything. I got a almost new Columbia jacket for my 14 year old for $2 (if you factor in price per pound).
you would love our thrift stores here in Houston Texas. you can 302 pieces for $302 at regular thrift stores or even 3020pcs on 10cent day for that price at the Family center thrift outlet. great clothing to! You can't beat it.
We got all our costumes for this year at the thrift store. My best ytd find was a Zojirushi bread machine. They go for 250 online and ours was brand new from the thrift store for 7 dollars! We didn't know until we got home and looked online for a manual what a good brand it was :)
O' I enjoyed this video. I also use thrift stores. Also on my meals- on- wheels I use Thrift store baskets to put the meals in and the people love the idea and the free baskets. .......God's Joy......

Great haul! I used to love thrift stores before my OCD got so bad that I can't go into them anymore. Maybe some day I will be able to enjoy thrifting again, you make me miss being able to do it.
my boys are probably the same size as yours haha My 4.5 year old Corbin is a 6/7 and my almost 16 month old Connor is in 3t! Connor is set with big brother hand me downs and we just got done filling in the gaps in Corbins wardrobe with a thrift store run!
Your new green sweater is going to look beautiful on you. Those kids clothes are great. SO many. I just konmari'd, so I cringed a little, but the truth is that kids pretty much need a new wardrobe every year. With toddlers, that is a lot of clothes unless you live in the laundry room.

Love thrift stores. I go every Tuesday while my twin boys are at therapy...The thrift is less then five minutes away for therapy, so I ran there while they are doing therapy.

What thrift store did you go to? Prices are outstanding! Lots of sweaters, shirts, and shoes in excellent condition for so much less! Besides Goodwill and Salvation Army, we go to a thrift store called, Unique, but the prices are double than what you paid for.
Great deals!! I sold some of my daughters clothes at once upon a child and then got my daughter some long sleeve shirts that my daughter needed but they were $2.50 to $3.50 each you got a good deal with $2 each for shirts! I did get a wizard of oz dress up for $2.70 that still had the tags on them so that's a good score! I have to go back in the next couple of days 2 of the shirts are going to be too small so we'll see if I get some good deals!
I wish our thrift stores had bargains like that. I picked up 2 infant/baby onesies yesterday for $3 each, and a ladies skirt was $10 (if it hadn't been a name brand I wouldn't have got it). Our stores are just so expensive.
