Huge LiveBait Bobber | One Day Build to Catch 

We were just talking about your channel. Went to the sports store today and bought my daughters rods and got a license. No idea how to fish, nor do I really want to, but the girls are are very excited. Please know your channel has helped at least three people turn off the tv and go outside

Final update: this little reel is the little engine that could ru-vid.comUgkxSlytCJqozTF7EbdP4LWP-HUXf9WRDJ0e . It performed flawlessly and was easy to adjust drag in the moment while I was battling a 35lb bat ray behemoth. Mind you, this reel is spooled with only 25 lb braid and 25 mono topshot. It's paired with the kastking telescopic heavy power rod and the two work well together. This has now earned my respect and confidence when traveling and fishing. If you have ever hooked into large rays and sharks, you know they pull extremely hard and can run forever! This thing clamped down on the fish and was easy to adjust during the fight. It has a nice decently fast retrieve as well. Twice the fish went on mad runs and I was able to gain back line quickly to avoid spooling.

When using a circle hook, just reel, you don't have to set the hook. It's made to catch in the corner of the fishes mouth as it swims off, if you yank on it (like trying to set the hook), its gonna pull the hook straight out. That's why you missed those fish. Cool bobber though. I might have to give that a try.

You've inspired me to wanna make lures. I have invested almost 20,000 dollars in the last six months on a wood shop and a few thousand dollars in bait making stuff. Cant get enough of your stuff!!!

With pike I recommend less of a chunky float and more of a stream lined pencil shape, I found chunky floats can make pike let go of the bait cause they can feel the resistance where as with stream lined floats they hold it for longer and get the bait deeper into there mouth. Great video as always👍

Marling baits can’t make a bad video

That ball looks like an idea for distance casting. I'm working on a lure for a 10ft rod that starts at 2oz. 2 labs of mahogany either side of a profile cut from14ga galvie steel. Trimmed down to 55 grams then I remembered a weight in the bottom😁. No it's not up to Marling Baits standards but the block'o'wood lure showed fish aren't that particular.

Nice work man. If you are looking for ideas I'd love to see you make a wooden flatfish lure. Make it hope along the bottom like a little flounder. I know it's a salt water fish but it would look awesome. You could make a few rubber flatfish too :)

With circle hooks youll wanna keep the rod tip up and constantly reel in after they run off with the bait to keep your hook set. I love you.

It's very satisfying to see someone who knows how to set a circle hook. All my buddies set them like they are frog fishing, then they say "oh circle hooks suck, they never work" Fun video!

This was a good one. Kinda wish you did a crazy fancy bobber though clear coat and all. Might start a new trend by making fancy bobbers. Maybe a fancy old school theme. Was fun watching the live bait fishing too. Do another and catch some catfish or pike!

Hey man. If you would like some baitfishing tips with bobbers, here's what I do. I fished a lot with lures but the easiest way to catch big fish is with live or cut bait. Fish have seen lures a lot, but the real deal is always best. Let the bobber go down for 5 seconds. at 5 seconds, start reeling. the circle hook will do the rest. If you try to set the hook with a circle hook, youll just pull the bait/hook right out of the fish's mouth. More often than not, the fish that takes your bait ends up hooking itself if it swims far enough. That's really all you need to do. Good luck!

I have 4 Pflueger President spinning reels and one is an XT 35 I use for bass fishing. They are reliable and the drag system is so smooth! I also fish left handed but I write and throw right handed. 🤷🏼‍♂️

My GoPro will overheat sometimes too. The newer (last year I think?)GoPro batteries suck so bad. The ones with the blue top. The heat melts the glue and the top part completely separates. Happened to both of the ones I had. Anyway, great bobber and great video. 👍👍

If you got a shop vac you can hold the hose on top of your chisel and it sucks up most of the chips and dust. I do some lathe work in my garage and it helps a lot with the mess.

Circle hooks are great for bobbers. I do catfish paylake tournaments and we all use cigar float bobbers in a Carolina rig with circle hooks

Tip if you want lines for painting you and use a cutting tool or if you don’t have one use a wire and burn friction burn your lines in by taking the wire and pull up from on your piece then it’s straight and after you can sand the inside of the groove for painting but I recommend leaving the ends of the wire with insulation cause it gets hot

Every time you try to catch little bluegill you catch big ones and the other way around. Such is life..

When you’re using circle hooks for live bait hook a little piece of plastic onto the shank before you hook your bait to prevent rehooking it and missing fish. Hope this helps!
