Today’s video is my first makeup declutter for 2019! For some reason, I skipped this drawer the last few times I filmed declutters, so a lot of these liquid lipsticks are old and expired. The majority of my declutter videos for 2019 probably won’t be so crazy, with the exception of my eyeshadow palettes! I didn't mind this type of declutter! I don't think you have to name or swatch everything. For me, it's enough to watch the sorting process and hear you say "keep" or "declutter."

I can’t believe even the unopened smashbox was dried out!!!! That’s so disappointing to me and makes me not want to buy those again. I’ve had thrill seeker, bawse, and fair game in my collection for almost a year probably and now I’m so afraid to go check them lol! It’s a little understandable for colourpop to dry out faster since they’re cheap but I expect more out of Smashbox!!!

Hey Andrea, I love your declutters..lol! It looks like you've cleared out alot of stuff that wasn't working for you. Btw I didn't know Colorpop had minis. I would have been buying those instead. Also, I was on the fence about getting a Smashbox liquid lip. There's a color,Vino Noir, that I was interested in but I don't want it to dry out so quickly..then it's a waste and they are already pricey..

Thank you so much for watching Susan! YES! They usually do mini sets around the holidays or sometimes when they do a new collection. There are a few sets on the website right now. It's a nice way to add multiple colors to your collection without have to buy full-sized lipsticks! I do love the Smashbox lipsticks so much, but I was surprised that they seemed to dry out so quickly! I feel like for the price you would expect them to last a little longer. I think if I buy another one it will have to be in a color that I find myself wearing fairly often, otherwise I don't know if it would be worth the money. 😭😭

Don't feel bad about getting rid of the balm liquid lipsticks. The colors are definitely pretty but I find them super drying on my lips. Since you also find the tarte lip paints drying, I bet you would find the balm drying as well.

I’ve found that storing the Smashbox lipsticks upwards (like how they sit at the store), prevents them from drying out as quickly. The product is spread out when they sit horizontally and therefore exposed to more air!

I know the feeling! It sucks getting rid of old products because it feels so wasteful. I have been trying to be better about my spending habits the past year or two so I don't have to toss as many products. Lip products always expires more quickly than I anticipate, so I've been trying to use what I really have instead of buying so many new ones!

I had the same experience with the Smashbox lipsticks. It was the first high end makeup item that I ever bought for myself, and it went dry in 6 months. Really disappointing because I don't splurge very often, and I really liked the formula 😞. It is nice to see that I'm not the only one who had this problem

Girl! I felt the same way about the Smashbox lipsticks! I had like 8 of them because I loved them so much and they dried out so quickly! It was such a horrible investment....=( I haven't bought one since experiencing that. Proud of you and your declutter! I just did that right before Christmas and my hubby got me my first Dior lipsticks which I fell in love with! Have you tried those yet?

@@AndreaMatillano Right?! I was so disappointed about the Smashbox ones. I would definitely check out the Dior Lipsticks! They are bullet lipsticks however they are so nourishing and stay on for a long time! It was almost like having a lip balm with a lipstick in one! I was super shocked on how they stayed on throughout the day. They are pricey however I think totally worth it! He got me two full size ones, then I guess, during the holidays, they had a 4 mini pack which if you can still get I would! Its funny cause I always go towards eye shadow palettes, and when he buys things for me, it is always something I would not have thought I would have liked and end up LOVING. lol Definitely let me know if you ever decide to try them! =)

I bought Bawse from the Lily Singh collar and it dried out on me in 4 months. So sad because I loved the color and feel. Happy for this declutter as I am in the middle of a huge purge with my entire apartment! It feels good! And I agree with the comment below about the Dior lipstick. I have one and love it! I’ve been wearing more of a lip pencil and gloss lately though.

It helps me to keep in mind how quickly they expire. The thought of them harboring tons of bacteria/fungus (🤢) can work wonders for curbing a lip product obsession. The more you collect, the less you’ll be able to use each one before it has gone bad

I totally agree with you on the Colourpop ones! They are so beautiful, but their shelf life is not very long. They separate and go bad fairly quickly. I love love these videos!! Keep them coming!!
