I always thought that people from western nations would never appreciate Indian street food till one of my friends from Australia came down somewhere in 2005. We were walking on Marine Drive in Mumbai and all of a sudden he expressed a desire to drink street side lemon juice ... I asked him again and again ... are you sure ... would your body not react to it. He said I came as a backpacker few years back and spent almost 60 days eating roadside stuff. Not once did I get sick. So, whenever I am in India, especially from other countries, I feel confident about taking them on a street food tour.

The jalebi that you had is "Mawa jalebi". It is different than the orange jalebi which is also available. The mawa jalebi is softer, richer, and less sweet. The orange jalebi is sweeter, crunchier. But any kind of jalebi tastes best when hot right out of the oil. The popsicle is called gola and you need to suck up the syrup from it. Kulfi is the best :)

I was wondering when will you both goto Mohammed Ali Road. Great to see you did. That place is the famous Minara Masjid Lane. Plenty of Mosques there. During the Holy Month of Ramadan that place is super crowded. No place to stand. The Falooda in the Big Glass Jar you tried was at the Famous Chinese & Grill Restaurant. BTW I stay just 15 mins from Mohammed Ali Road. As for Chowpatty, there are 2 in Mumbai. The 1st Video you posted was the Juhu Chowpatty. This one is the Main Chowpatty (known as Girgaon Chowpatty). Opposite to that is the Famous Wilson College. Founded by John Wilson, a Scottish Missionary in 1832 (when India was under British Rule). Loads of Love to Both of You 🇮🇳❤️🇺🇸

You guys NEED to go to Gujarat. It's famous for veg street food and also gujarat is more famous for dry snacks that you can take back home with you. Indians are very creative and proud about their food. There are TONS of different dishes and flavours. Ofc sweet is our speciality and spicy food is more of a starter for us. GIVE GUJARAT A TRY. You'll love it. Gujarat tourism has a saying - "Kuch din to guzaro gujarat me" meaning spend atleast a few days in Gujarat.

I liked this channel alot. You can also have some different kind of food tour for reference highway on plate it's old episodes. But it actually stayed with me forever

I had the best ice I have ever had in India. I don't know if it is because of their species of cows (Brahma?). Someone told me that their ice cream is good because their cows are really treated well there. Not sure what the reason is. I get Indian imported ice cream from a local Indian grocery store and it tastes really good too. Not as good as getting it there, but better than most of the grocery store ice cream in the US.
