Really excited about the special illustration collections. Being on a budget means chasing SIRs/alt arts isn’t really in the cards, so I love when they occasionally have rare art cards as promos, like in these or UPCs. I get why they don’t do it all the time but it’s a nice treat when they do!

Releasing a mini set before worlds isn't a coincidence, and is awesome for players. It does make a wrinkle for SV07 and SV08, it *can* still be a Blueberry set and a Terapagos set, with the ZA sets (SV09-12) and Mega cards announced at Worlds.

1:11 this exact issue happened to vgc players last year. The format before worlds was all regulation C. Worlds was the first format tho host a regulation D format tournament. It was a move that was shunned by most of the vgc community. I hope that this situation doesn't leave as shocking of an impact as it did to us vgc players a year ago.

So, because Pecharunt and the Loyal 3 are of course part of Night Wanderer/Shrouded Fable, applin, dipplin, sinischa, poltchageist, and ogerpon are in twilight masquerade, and the legendary beast/swords paradoxes are in paradox rift, I believe that the only pokemon that have not been officially announced yet in Pokemon card form are Terapagos, Hydrapple, and Archaludon. I saw a potential leak for Stellar Tera Terapagos ex though, alongside Cinderace, lapras, and Galvantula stellar ex's. That will probably be SV7, and include hydrapple and Archaludon.

Really curious about where all these illustration rares come from. Greninja and Kingambit are old. Also I think a SIR for Pecharunt is super likely so I wonder where the IR is from. Honestly surprised they will make a special set for this DLC, although I loved it I’m sure people will btch about this set all the time bc they don’t know / like the Pokémon

I’m really confused on what the SAR’s will be for this set. Kingdra is a promo. Greninja is a promo. Runt, dogi, dori, dipiti…..there’s 4 of them but most likely only 3 spaces for “Pokémon” SAR, because we usually get 2 trainer SAR. Revavroom is the only one that makes some kinda sense so far. Or I’m just really stupid😂

My OCD always gets messed up when I think of all of promo set lines that never completed, like BW for both EN&JP being a great example. I’ve just relegated to “Every card RELEASED” as opposed to every one in the set. Still upsets me to no end though…

I just feel like it's a missed opportunity if they don't do this off the top of my head I don't know how many mons are in johto I think its the second lowest Dex next to alolah but it's got alot of bangers such as donphan, ursaring, kingdra, mareep the starters shuckle houndoom and many more

@JoseRamirez-gq5ps the info I've found says paradise dragona on Sept 13 in jp and eng sv 7 is Sept 13. So my guess is that date. Unless the pikachu set is the other half of the english set. Then it would most likely be October. My thoughts anyway

This is gonna be the champions path of the Scarlet/Violet era, I'm calling it. Sure, it has playable cards, but the loyal three might be the least popular legendary trio in the history of pokemon. People aren't gonna care about it unless it has a phenomenal alt art trainer of a popular character

Why is this one a special set? I get 151, celebrating the first generation of Pokemon, and I get paldean fates, getting shiny Pokemon we don’t usually get in the sets, but this set just seems like we should get these cards in regular sets. Why is this specifically a special set?

Because it's a 1/2 set. As in it's not set 5 or 6 or 7. It's akin to Pokemon Go or Champions Path from SWSH era. Special Set = decimal set, such as 5.5 or 6.5.

They’re just collectors sets. If you have to ask why you’d want that, then it’s just not for you. Personally I couldn’t care less about the set outside of it being small so I can bulk buy codes for tons of gems in ptcgl.

As a collector, it's not a good set at all unless you really like Kitikami. As a player, unless you're one of the few that gets a world invite, it's just irrelevant until next season. Not a big fan of Kitikami, so I'm straight up passing on this. Worst special set since Pokemon Go.

I think it's the lack of innovation. Like the art is amazing and the illustration rares is one of the best ideas pokemon has had, but we're on year 5 of this sort of thing (2019, 2021, 2022, 2023, now 2024) and they really haven't done anything to change this up since 2022 unless you count adding an additional reverse holo in each pack as something new
