I have the stealth, and I recently was fitted for the Stealth 2. These two drivers couldn’t be more different. Literally night and day. The original stealth sounds like carbon (obviously because it is made of carbon) and is workable. The new version is extremely solid. I hit it dead straight, and found it difficult to NOT hit it straight. Just stand up and pound it. Most golfers will love it in my opinion. It’s super solid, and feels very stable.

The Stealth models are exactly what this video showed. Long when struck all over the face yes. However, difficult to keep in the fairway for most amateur golfers because inconsistent swing mechanics producing more errant strikes. And the results are unfortunately then more lost balls as was shown at the end of the video. 😂 Thanks guys for your content and keep up the good work!

Yes, the shafts are what makes or breaks a clubs, so important to get the correct shaft.

I had stealth in bag last year, because distance wise it was the longest, but I had a love hate relationship with it, the good shots are long but anything away from the middle where twist face takes over is just long and way offline!! i just didn’t think it was forgiving or consistent, at all, especially for mid handicappers, imo, finally I thought the sound was good but strike around face is difficult to know where it is. I have a g430 LST in bag now and it’s way better, so forgiving, feel like I can’t not hit it straight, and because of the confidence I can let loose and swing for the hills so it’s going further.

I’m a high handicapper, i tested the stealth 2 and found the + with the 70x shaft suits me far better than the other versions. I don’t think handicap is always a good measure when picking a driver.

I assume Mark was fitted for his ping gamer and then is just in a stock stealth. Would be more interesting to see him fit into a new driver and then compare. Shafts can make all the difference

I will just repeat what I've said before. I.e. out of the recent new Drivers, the Mizuno one has sounded the best to me and has improved Mizuno's position on the best Drivers out there.

Good morning from Tulsa, OK USA. The original felt dead on the face and I couldn’t feel where it hit the face. Because of that I sold the Stealth. If I can’t feel my miss hits I can’t adjust my swing.

I was not a fan of the first stealth and I am not blown away by the stealth 2 either, but it's obvious that is the wrong head and shaft for Mark to be fair. I just bought and put in play the titleist tsr3. Man is it a dream to hit! Please have Mark hit it as well.

i have stealth 2 plus , and did notice it does not go as high as my old driver but it does go further , i also do not like hight pitch sound of some drivers , so i love the stealth 2p sound. i guess is more of personal preference. Also the HD is a little harder to hit than the normal and plus models , i tried them all and HD it was harder to control since its a High Draw model .

Stealth 2 and 2+ are Handsome drivers for sure. I'm an older mid-handicapper, I estimate similar to your guest Mark, with driver head speed in the mid 90's. ?? I went with the TSR2 9* / Tensei Blue Reg flex. This combo gave me best performance of those clubs available last fall (Stealth +, Rogue ST Max, Ping G425 Max, Cobra LTD series) with factory shaft offerings. My spin numbers are much less than Marks though; 2400 give/take a few. I picked up a good amount of distance optimizing my spin rate and launch angle. Marks were showing 3800-4200. Seems Mark could use a lower spin variant of what he has and perhaps pick up some distance? Worth a try. Thanks for the enjoyable content. Summer approaches, have a great one.

Thanks Mark and James. I ended up going with a Paradym based off of James’ review and his honest review of the club. It was in between the stealth 2 and Paradym. But I have a stealth 1 and I have the same issues with it that mark had with the stealth 2…it gets out there but it is kind of unpredictable. His review of the Paradym seemed it was pretty solid and more forgiving …consistent. We shall see!!! 😂

Nice realistic review boys. Shows l, with how close drivers are, the sound and feel plays a big part of what we buy. I personally love the dull sound of the Stealth and as such was fitted i to one a few months ago.

August update. I’ve had the club for 2 months, it took a while to get use to. Once I had control of it, I would never go back to my old driver. If you make contact with the entire ball anywhere on the face it’s ridiculously forgiving. “ALMOST.”

My observation is that your outside results are way different than the inside results. Makes me wonder about your device... Aside from that the Stealth 2 still doesn't have the control you might want but it does seem to give you distance

The titleist tsr range is the best driver for all abilities . Better ball speeds . Using all titanium frame which is better than carbon composite anyway

I have a 2005 cobra composite driver and cobra f7 driver. Composite is 414 cc f7 460cc 2005 quite and longer easier to hit. Miss one fairway the other day with comp Driver. 12.5 handicap. Comp D. Lite shaft too 45g. I'm 69 helps too.

I'm similar to Mark in that for some reason I can just not get on with taylormade drivers. Not sure what it is but I'm am just so inconsistent with it. Where as I'll pick up most other drivers and have some sort of consistency

What does it say when the #1 player in the world (Rory) is still using the original stealth over the stealth 2, as driver. Of the the woods that Rory has in the bag, his driver and 5 wood are original stealth and only his 3 wood is stealth 2.

I may be wrong but I believe Rory has often taken longer than others to change drivers. Pros often keep 5 woods in the bag for years once they like one. I think Spieth used a 2015 fairway wood for around 5 years

Idk about mg3, they sure look nice, or is there a new model im missing? I bought some new mg1 wedges a year and a half ago and i fucking love them, idk wedges are wedges for the most part, its what shape and bounce that suits your eye/game

In my experience, you really don't get the "sound" out of the Stealth unless you give it a whack in the middle. You have to be swinging 100+...for that sound everyone likes.

Just went for a driver fitting myself. Nothing outperformed the stealth 2 for me with a stiff hzrdus black gen 4 shaft. Was just pounding it down the middle with 9 yards offline as my average

Consistency of strike makes it hard for mid hc’s to have a test that’s meaningful to the actual equipment traits. IF he were consistent, it’s hard for any driver to better G410LST etc.

Surely this is the point, these clubs are marketed with gaining distance, better dispersion when off centre strikes. As a single figure handicapper Mark is a perfect tool to use. Hits the ball well with occasional miss hit. Does it match his ping, nope. I’m sure there is a new driver out there for him but it has to give him a good gain to warrant £400 plus of his money.

Just purchased one after an in-store fitting, which I was consistently hitting 220-230 metres. On course it is truly horrible, 180m if you don't get it perfectly out of the sweet spot and very unforgiving. My 8 year old Callaway big Bertha kills it. My Adams 3 wood is straighter and longer. Buyer beware!

I don't think any driver can correct bad swings but if a driver doesn't give you confidence you will not hit it well. It's more in your head than anything else.

The TM seemed to significantly out perform the Ping out on the course in terms of distance. However, indoors the data showed that they were similar in distance, perhaps a little longer with the Ping. Why would there be a difference between indoor and on the course performance? (Hope I did not just misread the info in the video.)

That’s because launch monitor results doesn’t transfer to real play and real play scores. You can get fitted using a DEMO shaft and when u purchase the same shaft it will feel different. No 2 shafts are the same. If you find a DEMO shaft that you like, buy the demo.

I worry that the carbon face of the Stealth will not last if you play a lot of golf. In wet or damp conditions bits of dirt get between the ball and the face and that scratches the soft face of the club. Having an expendable club is good for Taylormade but expensive for golfers. Carbon fibre is light and strong but it does not like abrasion or repeated point stress. Once carbon reaches its stress limit it will suddenly and without much warning catastrophically fail. In industry we have all had to learn when and where to use carbon fibre or learn the hard way that it is not the perfect material.

I have a stealth plus. Played it this past year, my first year of regular golf. Hit a ton of shots on the range. Hit it far but not straight, need to work on swing path. If the face is gonna break it will happen early. Mine held up great, and the finish on the face will look better after a season than any other driver. Off center hits are not good, but you know where they are on the face. This helps you dial in contact. Center hits are astonishing. The ball jets off the face. I wish they had a 7 1/2° head that sat nice and flat. It's a good driver for someone who wants to really work on their game. As far as sound goes, catch it kind of right and it sounds like the crack of a breaking tree branch after an ice storm.

Just starting to watch this video, but I tried it at a recent fitting and I didn't like the Stealth 2 at all. EDIT: Now that I watched some of it, it was the dull thud they describe exactly! It might work fine, didn't like the feel / sound (personal opinion is all).

@@JamesRobinsonGolf If you are saying there is a video coming of it that is must watch. Only hearing good things about that Version of Driver. Triple Diamond is for Single Digit Players and for Mid to High the Regular one is typically to best fit.
