here in the states the yards are very strict and have different pay grades for copper. it just depends on how far you want to go cutting off all of the #1 away from any soldering which drops it to #2 prices. same thing with the brass

Nice way in there , have you ever thort about strapping 3/4 bins against the bulk head 1 for the copper brass ect saves double handling it just weigh it in when there full

Great stuff, but i just dropped on because you said ya going "Humberside way". I'd heard, beforehand these boys were notorious for being "full weight" to use a mixed metaphor. any copper with solder on is classed as brassier so if you get paid for copper good luck to you

Advise ,,,, if you had a bulk of copper tanks would you cut them up to get best prices , brass , brasserie, heavy copper Rather than just clean foam off Best price here in South west for heavy copper is £5.50

I had my scrap yard weigh a brass cymbal for me, they weighed it at 1.5 kg. I thought it felt considerabely heavier than that and when I googled it, they usually weigh 6 pounds (2.722 kg)! Bit of a discrepency there. Never trust a scrap yard, no matter how honest they seem. I'll be weighing everything
