i think scrappers have never had it so good, with all the metal being left outside for them,i bet its giving the tip owners the hump, cause there profits have gone right down, another great video mate
Good video mate. It gives an explanation of what else you do with the stuff. I enjoy watching your vids pal keep em coming and we’ll done of your talk.👍👍
Great information Gary, great you're bk up and running once more 😁 it's nice you get the shocker at the end for the heavy copper price good bonus for the day work
I've been watching for a while but on my xbox I can't comment on there cos I'm not logged in. I'm loving the videos mate I don't scrap much now but I am a lifetime scrapper. It was when you said about cutting a copper boiler with a hacksaw when I was a kid I used to cut them up with a hammer and flathead screwdriver I'd just chisel all the brass and thermostat off them then cut the top to get the element out. You brought me back some good memories mate.
Hi Gary, had a busy week and only just got chance to watch the video but it's the one I've been waiting for so thank you for all the explantation about copper grading, really useful stuff! I have more questions but will let you have a breather first 😜 glad you got a decent payday at the end of it too 👍🏻
No worries mate. You can ask away. I have been slacking this week lol. Last week with the kids before they go back to school. So loads of scrap and fitness vids to come from Monday
@@gdson2378 You've done the right thing spending some time with the kids! But seeing as you've been slacking anyway 🤭 I was wondering what you do with cable, do you grade and seperate it at all, do you strip any of it and what do you do with your plugs? Again, as and when it suits you, seeing as that's actually 3 questions 😂 just keep doing what you do 👍🏻
Good video mate where about is the scrap yard because my scrap yard what I go to is crap and they don't even take steel and keep up the good work mate 💯
Really useful video. Cheers Gary, could you do one on the motors that you scrap? The motors confuse me when I’m out scrapping. I’ve just been building them up until I know what I’m doing
Great money in it, if you put in the time to sort it properly like you do gary. The amout of vans i see taking in copper with brass still on it, and getting a lower value.
them rads used to go in with brazziery, now its a seperate price, same as cylinders, used to just chuck them on the scales, now you have to take the element out of them
Gary. Fair play to you mate. Lovely lift for the start of the week. Do you ever strip microwaves and such for the copper or is it too much hassle and I know a lot of the time can be copper coated wire.
Mate its been so long I cant really remember, I'm sure I searched on google for Lorry cover or Skip nets, Something like that. Had this one a long time
Love the vid mate ,I'm thinking about using your scrap yard will take about 1and a quarter to get down to them the prices they are paying you are ludicrous I went to EMR Portsmouth yesterday 400+ kg of cast ali at £660a tonne and loads of other stuff total weight of 976kg mostly stainless and some H/ copper £4830 pt .I have used 9in angle for years but recently I bought a dewalt 4.5 inch angle grinder for cleaning copper much kinder on the arms you can cut the copper in you hand not have to put in vice every time much quicker 9 inch for cylinders only now 😁👍
Good video. Not sure if you know but places like EMR only pay up to the whole kilo For example if you have a 7.9kg , you get paid only 7 Kg. Surprised at this but think of what they take for nothing.
Random question. I am starting a recycling business...paper,card and plastics etc aswell as metal but struggling to find insurance for vehicles, if you do not mind me asking who do you use to insure your vehicles as its a mine field , thanks , mat
