That's just what I said to John.....it takes me so long, and lots of work, just to end up with "that vase", and then I get tripped up because of having to rely on another company to show my work! 😒 so hopefully I can find a spare moment and I'm going to look into some alternatives 😊

@bethgaither1214 that's the only good thing about this problem, is at least my "family" know me well enough to know that it's not my fault. But I have ALWAYS been so geared towards good customer service! And I just hate to think I could be thought of as anything less! Every part of my work8ng career has all been about great customer service in all the different jobs I've done. But I will sort it out, and also try and find time to start looking for alternatives so I can leave etsy, as they are letting too many good folk down! 😊❤️

I've got so much work on, and just the journey from beginning to end of getting your item on etsy for sale, takes a huge amount of time to begin with. So we really don't need all this hassle to try and deal with! At some point I'll be looking at alternatives so I can hopefully leave etsy behind! 😊

I hate bad service, and I know this isn't my fault with what ever is going wrong with etsy, but I'm worried it would reflect on me. But like you say, most of my customers (and family) know me well. I don't trust etsy any more. I had a shop since 2016 and last year I had to close my shop. They put my shop on RESERVE took their money and kept my money for over 45 days. After many messages and pleadings they wouldn't give me my money, and by the way I had free shipping so had to pay out if my own pocket!! They wouldn't tell me what I'd done wrong. I didn't sell much but it was still my money. I had lots of listing which was a lot of work but I just couldn't afford to keep my shop going sadly. I was goi g to tell you awhile ago but my husbandpassed away earlier this year so I didn't get around to it. By the way I had problems a few years ago with multiple items doing the same things. I hope you can have this sorted for you. Xx

As far as etsy goes, I once forgot to put the shipping tracking number on a sale, and they did exactly the same to me! I had to wait ages before they would give me my money I had earnt! I don't know why it's such a hostile seller's platform to be honest! You'd think they'd do what they could, to keep their customers. @@RichMiniatures thank you for your kind reply. As I said, when I first started in etsy in 2016 they were so much better, I had lots more orders and things were a lot easier. They were all for small handmade businesses but the mass produced cheaper sellers were allowed to trade which was basically the death nell for my little shop, by the way I make dollshouse furniture and accessories. I hope you can get your own website and be free from etsy. I would have liked to do that but im not good with computers and technology im 74 years old and I've got no-one to help me, so I've got lots of things that I can't sell! Xx

@dandelionbearartist well I've been selling groups of vases for a while now, and up till now, it's worked perfectly. But I've found out that this has been a common on etsy's part. So at some point I'm going to look at alternatives and hopefully leave them behind! 🙏❤️

*hug* I hope Etsy sorts this out quickly. I'm so sorry this is happening to your shop! It's awful and it makes Etsy look bad as well. Once, I had a problem with a seller on Etsy and in conversation with the seller, they were having a similar problem. I don't know how they resolved the problem with Etsy, but I did send a polite message to Etsy to explain the problem and asked if they would look into a way to fix it. I don't remember how long it took to resolve, but I eventually was able to purchase a similar item and the seller was lovely about the whole thing. I hope you have good results as you work through this.

Hi Rich.I used to have an Etsy Shop selling my handmade bears,but sadly had to give it up,as Etsy were so bad.As with other,selling platforms there is not an actual"real life" person you can talk to,just a list of possibilities that never quite fit the question you have.I hope you manage to get some resolution soon.xx

Hi Richard, So sorry you have this problem with Etsy atm. I had a look at your shop tonight & can only see 7 new pieces. The (previous) Chaos range comes up first, looking like it’s available, but then I see it’s marked SOLD OUT. I’m so lucky to have one of them! Good luck in getting a speedy resolution. I hate things not going smoothly, especially when it’s not your fault, but you’re the one dealing with the problem. BTW, your new pottery on your previous video all looks amazing, & you are such a master of the pottery wheel! Yay! 😻👌🏼Edited-just checked again & Chaos collection is not there anymore???
@lanaheasman1623 hi there Lana! ☺️ yes I've removed all my ads with group vases on, and now I'm just going to put separate vases on. So when each vase sells, it will be easier to see if its gone, and if it still shows "for sale" then I can just delete that one. Hopefully that will help until I think about an alternative way to sell 🙏

Hello Richard, I hope you've complained to Etsy about it, You need to put a note on your Etsy page explaining what their system is doing and that you cannot be held responsible for their computer glitches. Etsy have twitter/X pages if you complain there you'll probably get a better response as these companies don't like being called out in public, after all it's your goods that provide their profits. Maybe instead of listing groups of seven items, list every item entirely separately only. The glitch might be due to multiple items and the system isn't recognizing within each group.
@barbaracampbell4090 no it's not that Barbara because there are lots listing's with more than one item in the UK. But I've found out on forums that this is a common problem which etsy haven't yet sorted. Plus I have actually since, had replies from etsy, acknowledging the problem, and that they apparently have their IT people working on it! 😏
So sorry this is happening to you. My friend sells on Etsy, I’ll warn her to be on the lookout for this. She pride’s herself on being a 5 star shop! This “glitch can really disrupt your store” good luck. Make sure you let us know if you find a solution
@susanamann1806 yes I could do that, but the next person looking, wouldn't know if someone gas already bought that particular item. That's what the problem was, for some reason when a vase got sold, I got the usual message from etsy to say I've sold it. But at that point, the etsy computers normally don't let the same ite be bought again. So at the moment I am just going to list seoerateitems, then as I get a message to say it's sold, I will just go into that profile and delete it if it still looks like it's for sale. Also I'm going to look at some alternatives for selling so I can just leave etsy to it!
Does it happen when you try to sell multiple vases through the same listing? It's a pain, but it might be better to add them separately. Or find somewhere else to sell them through.
@craftyhobbit7623 yes for a long time now, I've been putting groups of vases on. And on the form, where it says quantity, you just put 7, or how ever many there are. Then as each one sells, it just says there are now 6 items left or t etc, until they are all sold. But this new problem was that as I'd sold a vase on a group advert, instead of that vase looking like it's been sold, it just kept it on as "for sale"! This is the first time it's ever happened, but for now, I'm just going to put each item on separately. At least then, as soon as I get a message to say it's sold, then I can just go in and delete that advert. But soon if I can find any spare time, I'm going to start looking at alternatives
Hi Rich - it sounds like you are grouping different vases in one listing which Etsy doesn't have a quantity breakdown for each unique vase in that single listing (advert). You need to create a separate listing (advert) for each vase with a quantity of 1. When a buyer purchases it then it will not be available again. Grouping unique items into 1 advert is giving you this problem. If you had 7 vases all the same then you can offer a quantity of 7 in 1 listing and as it counts down to zero available then it won't be able to be purchased again.
Hi Rich, If your RU-vid viewers want to be sure that they are buying an available piece they can click on your number of sales at the top of the page and it will show what is already sold. They can then go back in and buy quickly. Hope that makes sense.
@UlsterCountyNY yes that makes sense, thank you Denise 🙏 also, when I looked at the sale I'd gotten from you (thank you as always) it said you'd bought a certain vase, but the photo didn't match with the letter! I had put the ads on so very thoroughly that it was all perfect before I published each ad. But now I'm not sure exactly which vase you want....either the letter you chose, or the photo!? I have sent you a message regarding this on etsy, if possible could you look at that message as I've sent photos of both vases and you can tell me exactly which one you wanted. It would be another nightmare if I sent the wrong one! I'm sure that's another problem with etsy, because when I went back in to look at the ad, there were three letters with the same photo showing!!! And I'd never make a mistake like that because I do it all one at a time and double check before carrying on! 😒❤️

@@RichMiniatures Richard, hopefully it will be resolved. I used to have an Etsy shop for ten years, selling handmade miniature paintings and animal related art. I quit because Etsy came up with all kinds of restrictions and fees. Also free shipping only works to their benefit and not ours, I lost lots of money on having to ship for free. Etsy used to be for the makers, turned out to be they are only filling their own pockets. It’s a lot work too photographing all the items and write listings. I’ve looked for alternatives too but there aren’t really any (Etsy knows that). Greetings Peter

When you're entering the quantity on your etsy, like 7, does the system think it's 7 of each ? Maybe put 1 and see if the system doesn't have the same issue.

If you list a number if items, you enter that number in a box that asks you how many. Then each time one sells, the advert then shows one less, like if you had 7 and one sells then it just said 6 available until all are sold. But through looking at forums I've now found out that this is now a common fault with the system. Even etsy has finally written back to me and admitted they are having technical issues! So hopefully I won't be using them much more!
