My channel is about Miniatures and dollhouses. About decorating them, making miniatures to put in them, but most of all, it's about sharing what I've learnt over many years. I hope I can help inspire people, to take the plunge, and just give things a go!
There you are! The house turned out lovely. I'm sure we all would love to see pictures of the house dressed. I hope your client will forward some to share. We all like seeing John Boy!
@kathleenmartingale9718 yes, I'm still here Kathleen! 😂 I get annoyed when it's not possible to get videos out any quicker! And John boy says thank you 🙏
Oooh yes that radiator cover looks amazing Rich, brilliant idea to create it for your client, I think she will love it, and also same for John Boy mentioning that it would look great in your art deco house too, you two guys are so talented and amazing and love you too, tfs x Julie
Oh how unique and fab is this, ? I really love the design! Never seen a cover like that, but it really makes the hall cosey. And we are ALL so happy we found you, and Johnboy❤❤..am sure your client will be over the moon❤❤ And wherever we retire to in years to come, we shall all meet again and spend eternity making minis and drinking lots of qwaaffee😂😂
Oh wow Richard what a very sad ending to a wonderful video! Don't get in to that mind set ,there are so many terrible things happening right now I watch you to get a bit of happiness, 😢 Don't you start being miserable! You have to keep going 😊 loads of love and thank you for sharing your wonderful talent!❤❤😊
Hello Richard and John, the radiator cover is lovely, it looks great in the hall of the house. I'm looking forward to seeing you work on the Art Deco house again. Have a great rest of the week. Best Wishes from Yorkshire 😊
That was lovely Richard neat piece of work. Did well .I am sure the lady will love ❤️ it say hello to John. You should get John doing RU-vid. Show him how it all work s and what to do. . Richard your as young as you feel . 😊😊 you take care
Do you feel like a peeping Tom looking in those windows at night?!? 😜😂🤣 Actually I love walking at night and looking in peoples houses(from the sidewalk!) when their curtains are open…especially the Victorian style homes…just to see how they decorated! NOT interested in who lives there…just the interior look!!! 😉😍 My fear is electrifying my dolls house…it has been at a standstill for ever a year 😔 then life & death happened and I’ve lost my mini-mojo 🥹
Hello Rich and John Boy. I'm not really into "modern" decor or design or anything else, really, LOL. But I have to say that I really like that radiator cover, and you did an excellent job, as always! I'm looking forward to seeing what John gets up to with his new house. I'm excited for him. I'm excited, also, to see you get back to the art deco house. It looks very interesting! I hope you both have a happy and productive journey! Hope to see you both again soon.
@@marygatdula2744 I really love the way we all have our own favourites when it comes to styles and periods. I'm looking forward to seeing what John boy buys as well! I think he's still choosing
YeahMan!!! I got the Art deco vibe right after you made the cuts. That you didn’t see it means that even your subconscious is a creative genius.!!! It looks perfect in situ! Thanks for sharing, and take it easy… ☮️💜
The yahoo studio app uploads videos. Maybe film a special short video saying if you see this it means that I went to the other side. Or have it as a private video and teach him the steps to make it public? I'm past 65 and understand. A lady here, 64, very fit and active, had a heart attack and is gone, so it can be sudden. Lovely radiator cover! Hope you stay well for many many years.
@karen4you hello Karen, that could be a very good idea to do a video as private, until John needs to make it public 😊 And I am nearly 64 and it is always a concern. But yes, I hope you, me and all of us are here enjoying life for many years to come! 🙏😊
Hi Rich, lovely to see you again, you’re missed, but can’t do two things at once can you? Did you do the outside brickwork and if so did you give details of supplier as I would love to do my house with it. I’m a nuisance I know but did you cut out the stained glass windows and make them?
@user-vo3md3mm1m Hi Carol, you made me smile when you said I can't do two things at once! 😂😂😂 I think these last two weeks I was "double" multi tasking! I should have had John boy video the chaos 😂 the workshop looked like a disaster zone before I filmed the last video! But I'm pleased to say, that things are a bit calmer now, even though I'm still in the workshop every day! 😍 You can get the brickwork from Streets Ahead. They have a whole range of different types which look quite realistic. And the stained glass windows came with the house, made exactly to shape for the windows. They took a long time to paint, but it was a relaxing journey 😊
@@RichMiniatures bless you, must save, but have just turned spare bedroom into a ‘studio’ showroom workroomy area and everything costs doesn’t it? However our world wide miniature family amazes me and the ideas they pass on makes me disparate to get onto the next project so have to discipline myself, never ever bored. Also just want to say to have John Boy to share your ‘job’ hobby with is a joy for your viewers to witness. Love to you both and thanks again.
@@user-vo3md3mm1m ooh, I'm even excited about your new studio! I bet you can't wait to get started in there 😍 I'm sure you'll spend many a happy hour or two in there! 😍
So good to see you again! it will be fun to watch both you and John working on your projects. The commission is excellent- I'm sure your client will be happy to have her dream realized in such a pleasing manner! It would be nice to eventually see how she dressed the house, but I know that can take a long time.
Thank you for explaining your process. There's few videos that show what you do. I watch alot of Josjes minature videos that goes on depth on the inside. Thank you. Your just what I've been looking for. Could you show more of your wood cutting process like windows and doors out of wood walls? What do you call that box that all the wires fit into? Thank you!
Here from Atlanta. Im working on a 1:24 scale for the challenge. I want to do flagstone and brick. Can't decide. I really appreciate finding you! 🙏. I made a 1:24 brick stencil from sticker paper cardstock, cut out on cricut, filled with elmers wood filler. Better than plaster and liquid plastic. Turned out perfect. I cut flagstone from wood on my saw and made silicone mold, filled with plaster. Now I have 1/16 flagstone for my exterior. Thank you. I'm so happy I found your channel. You have such great videos. Many more to watch. I just wanted to explain to the minature community a success on the brick and flagstone for others. So it's not random. 😊
@tara44789 Hi Tara, it's fine, your comment isn't random at all! If it's to do with anything "miniature" then all is good! And it sounds like you're having a lot of fun creating the bricks and flagstones! It's good to share what you learn, to help our community 🙏😊
Would you mind telling me where the stained glass windows are from please? I need small ones for my fairbanks or wanted to do them myself I'm just not sure how. It will be a while before I'm at that stage though
@debbielewis9789 Hi Debbie, the windows came with the house as part of the kit. But the house is an Anglesey dollhouse, and they aren't in business anymore. The client had the house for twenty years before she found me to decorate it for her! 😊 I did create a cheaper version of stained glass windows for my Boho house (some of my first videos on my channel) but they weren't metal like the quality ones in my client's house
@barbararosensteel8031 bless you Barbara 🙏 believe me, my every waking moment is geared towards getting my next video on 😁 the "behind the scenes" stuff just takes so long! 😏
@@RichMiniatures I understand. We just love seeing your videos. We are like a little family and we miss each other. You are glue that holds our family together.
@barbararosensteel8031 well I hate when I haven't put anything on for a while, but I feel very relieved every time I press the "publish" button on youtube! 🤣
Oh, Rich! What a beautiful job you’ve done. You must be so pleased. I hope you get some very positive feedback from your client. You deserve it! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I do hope that your client sends some photos of the furnished house. It would be good to see the house "fully furnished " & complete, though having said that when are our houses ever finished🤦♀️. I am glad to hear that your Job at the Post Office is now more manageable 😆. In my mind you get a Gold medal for this house (& all the others)🥇🥇🥇
Ohhhh yessss...how cosey is that lighting? ..I love how neat your wiring is and the remote control is a great feature. Am sure your client is made up!! Well done❤
Wow Rich! This house turned out beautifully. The lighting system is really interesting. I love how you explain how you do things, you make it very clear and easy to understand and I’ve learned a lot from watching your videos. I was always a little nervous to do wiring but you inspired me to give it a try and I’m loving the way it looks! Always happy to see your face. Looking forward to your next project, maybe more with the Art Deco house?
@deenafrayo thank you Deena 🙏 I'm really pleased with the way the house looks. It was a lovely journey! And hopefully I might get a moment to do more to the Art Deco house...fingers crossed 🤞
Hello Richard, it looks fabulous, you always do a fantastic job of decorating. Thank you for sharing your talents with us. You're a haven of peace in the chaotic times were living in at the moment. Looking forward to seeing John's new project and which ever of your houses you work on. Have a lovely week. Best Wishes to You, John, and the Kitties from Yorkshire 😊
@diane64yorks Hello Diane, how's Yorkshire thus week? I still miss my home in York even after all these years 😏 if I can, I might try and make time to do a little more to the Art Deco house, fingers crossed 🤞
@@RichMiniatures Yorkshire is as beautiful as ever and the weather is nice for a change. my tiny village is peaceful thankfully 🙏🏻, the bigger towns and cities not so much as you've probably seen on the news, I hope it's quiet where you and all your viewers live too.
@diane64yorks yes it's so sad to hear about all the rubbish that's going on in our world today! But if we can find moments of happiness here and there, then it's a bonus we should savour! 😊
Hi Richard, lovely to see another video from you…I’ve been checking in everyday, as I’ve missed you! As usual, I was just about to go to bed here, it’s very late now, after 2 am, but just had to watch it!!!! 🥰 You’ve done a wonderful job on this house! Yay!!!! So interesting to see your new wiring system. I just love the exterior of this house as well, lovely brick & roof! Your white garden lily, is what we call the November Lily, as it flowers then, which is our last month of spring. We’re upside down, being down under, & still freezing with having had a very long & continuously cold winter!!!!🥶 💖💝
@lanaheasman1623 Hi Lana 👋 sorry I kept you up late! This "time" thing does annoy me! 😂 but thank you for staying to watch, and I'm glad you liked the house. But I really wanted to say that you really made me think about how the months are all opposite too! I couldn't imagine these lilies growing in November! But like you say, that's completely normal where you are 😁🥰
Hello Richard, your work is excellent, this house is stunning. Wonderfully made. And your garden is beautiful. Great to see you again. And yes john boy is liked and loved as well. Xxxx Mary
@kevinturner6495 thank you Kevin 🙏 I really enjoyed the journey, and I'm sure my client will want to move in when she sees it! Already planning next video journey!
Oh! Wonderful to have a video from you! I was half expecting a video yesterday, and I was having withdrawals. LOL. I watched a couple of past ones that I hadn't seen, and that helped. So nice to have a new one today!
Lovely to see you Rich - the finished house is beautiful, particularly the front door and light, stunning! As for the kitchen it’s just wonderful - wish I had a kitchen like that to cook in 😁 Really interesting about the electrics and light system - love the remote just great!! Xxx
This turned out beautifully! The attention to detail is brilliant. You've given me a bit of courage to wire my current dolls house. YAY! It's exciting that John Boy will get a new kit. It'll be fun to see his work, too. I need to work out how to make proper chimney breasts so I can make about six of them. You've helped me focus on my build with a process of 1. Build, 2. Decorate, 3. Furnish, 4. Accessorize. This way I don't get pulled down the ADHD rabbit hole getting distracted with things like putting bits of dust in corners when it's not really time to do so. Whenever you have a live stream is wonderful by me! I'll do my best to be there with bells on! Hugs to you, John Boy, Georgie, and Nigel!
@rachaelkasper5445 thank you Rachael 🙏 I'm really pleased my videos are helping to give you inspiration. And yes, it's best to forget about the tiny finishing touches and get the rooms decorated first! Sending love back from all the boys! ❤️🐈😺
@RichMiniatures Maybe some of those "shorts" or "reels" I don't know the difference. But they might do in between longer videos. But I hate when people use more of those than actual longer videos. But a couple in between might scratch the itch. 😁
