My pronunciation of necrotic may sound different lol, it’s either my accent or the way I roll my tongue and scrunch up my face trying to deal with the toe necrosis smell 😂😂😂
Tek TV is one of the best hoof trimmers on RU-vid‼️You might want to also check out @NateTheHoofGuy. His technique of carefully sliding the knife •under• the hoof so as not to nick live corium is amazing‼️ ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-x6tQ9atqEfI.html🔪
These hoof trimmers no matter who they are, they are wonderful people to see the love they have for these animals is so heartwarming. God bless them all, Garth, Tom, Graham, Nate, Adam, great people.
When I see the discomfort in this cow like this. It makes me so happy they have wonderful people like you who care enough to help them. Yes I know it’s your job, but even in the video I can feel the compassion you and your Da have….I love you guys! Really enjoy watching from NB Canada!💕
Good job Gareth! Thank you for saving her and providing much needed pain relief. I know if she could she would hug you and be very grateful! You guys are such a blessing to the cows you take care of. 👍❤️😊
Hi Gareth! New subscriber here sent over by Graeme and Craig from Hoof GP! Your style and Graeme's is a great contrast; he's terrific and full of energy and you are also terrific with a voice that is wonderfully soothing. For helping me get to sleep tonight I've bought you a coffee for those early mornings! Best to your Dad!
One more time!! Good bless you dear.Because you always care of animals with love . From Brazil im watching yours videos from Brazil. Your care so perfect congrats!!! I love it!!!!!!
I love your channel you are so wonderful with the cows. Looking forward to all u our videos. I get such satisfaction watching you work on their claws balancing them and fixing them so the cows can be confident and walk pain-free. Thank you.
Poor little Bossy!! She is going to feel so much better! She is out in the pasture telling all her friends about the human that made her foot feel better!
Thank you, oh, thank you Tec TV guy. I felt so bad when I saw how the cow was walking before going in the crush. I felt better seeing how she walked afterward, I'm sure she felt better too. Great job as always.
We love our job. great to see such a drastic change from before and after the satisfaction of a job well done and an animal well on the way to recovery!
Glad you enjoyed your coffee ☕ you're the best! Also glad you upgraded your spray bottle, it'll save your hardworking hands :) Lol I'll have to remember to get some necrosis de toe perfume to get fastest service when i want a coffee ☕ :) glad you helped her and relieved her pain. Wish you and your family the very best!!! I personally would love to see a video on knife sharpening :)
@@garethcrawford9158 true :) lol i wonder does your wife make you use the power washer on low to scrub before coming in :) guessing you drop your dudes in the mud room before coming in it's what my pop would do after a long day fixing stuff.
I remember going to the grocery store after a days work on a dairy farm back in the 90s and while I was standing in line I witnessed the true beginning of social distancing and I really couldn’t blame them I smelled like cow poop
I really feel for these cows, that looks so painful, I'm so glad you're able to help them! ❤ I was just wondering, do they get any pain relief whilst they're having these procedures? It looks so painful, but I imagine not long afterwards they feel so much better!
@O M GYMNASTICS Shorts Yes they can, if it's deep enough to reach the nerves. And this cow is clearly responding to pain whenever her wound is touched.
sorry for butting in so late, but it depends on the problem! it's a lot like in humans. pockets of fluids that build up pressure are really painful but that decreases instantly when you pop it and remove the pressure. the same goes for damage that goes far in and reaches living tissues and nerves; removing the hoof pressing on it will feel better like taking a busted nail off of tender tissue will feel better. some stuff might hurt, like when you get down to the living tissue and touch it a bit while cleaning it up, or while pressing on spots to see what's sore or soft so you know what to dig at. i'd imagine most hoof repair cases are both painful and relieving at different points but ultimately much more relieving :)
Ohhh, NECROTIC...geeze I kept wondering, "Wonder why they call it narcotic? I'll have to look that up later!". I totally understand now though. Thank you for showing us what you do.
I’m reminded of my grandparent’s dairy farm. I love animals, especially farm animals - except some ducks, because they pinch! Anyway, you made her feel better, and nothing should be in pain. ❤️
We need a video inside your new work space/container. I see all kinds of stuff behind you, but want to know what it all is. It's too hot in Texas to go outside so I need lots of videos from yall!
I recommend you seeing a fellow nail trimmer from the USA his channel is called Nate the Heel Guy and bet if you both gave commentary on each other's work on the same problems it would go a long way to see how same problems are solved in Europe vs the USA...and similar approaches too
I'll look for that knife sharpening video. I'm amazed at how different a Cow hoof knife is from a Horse hoof knife. They do look very similar, but definitely different.
You did a great service for this cow, are you going to show us the follow-up? Very nice clean job lucky for the cow. I really enjoy watching you getting the cow out of suffering. Bravo
With toe necrosis, a vet doesn’t need to do surgery? I love the way before and after, she makes the cows move out of her way rather than walking around them.
Thank you For Helping the cows n bulls,,,, I am wondering,,,, I am American but I never see any Hoof Guys on here from America,,,,, are there any????? I notice all you guys are from the UK or Australia…. Prayers for success in everything you guys do!!!! And the Cows Thank You.
Definitely a difficult trim in between her toes!!! So good you could give her relief!!! If I remember correctly, necrosis is not curable? If so, how long until she needs another trim as to keep her comfortable? Stay safe guys!!! I really enjoy watching your videos!!!!!
You know how when somebody says something wrong and they keep saying it wrong then that’s all you hear? Yeah, that happened me while I watched this video. I absolutely hate being one of those people but I’m going on 2 days of insomnia so my filter that usually prevents me from saying things like that isn’t working right now. But I did give the video a thumbs up!
I have never seen such a neat shop. Most guys have stuff thrown everywhere, but you might have cleaned up a bit before the video! But it's still a neat shop. You did a great job with that hoof and the cow could tell a difference. I'm a cow Tec fan now😊 take care and God bless
What’s the prognosis for this cow? For example, Is there underlying toe tissue and bone that are dead and thus incurable and incapable of healing or regeneration? Will she always have to wear a block? Will a vet have to do surgery to remove dead tissue, or were you able to get it out? It was great to see her discovering that she could walk with much less pain. Wrenching her heavy body the way she had been with each step must have been excruciating. Thank you for this video. I’m glad it shows clearly what you did but doesn’t include smell-o-vision.
Wow, what a turkish slipper. I have a couple of questions, and I'm sorry if I missed the answers in the video. Did the lesion extend up to the coronary band? Why no tetracycline spray? Is digital dermatitis rare in that herd?
wow, good trim. carving in those striations in the hoof before the block applied helps hold the block on, wonder why more trimmer's don't use that technique, it only took a few seconds?
I see your better half makes you air your hoof trimming clothes out in the new shipping container Gareth. It must be the smell of narcotic toes off the clothes......😂 Sounds like something a Columbian Hoof Trimmer would come across a lot - narcotic toes!!
She really needed your care, glad she got it. The way you pronounced necrotic is how I learned it….in Virginia in the States…got a bit of southern accent, do you? Haha. My granny’s family was Irish and Scottish mix. So I didn’t notice much difference!
I am from the US I have cattle, but also goats, which I trim, just the goats. Will the blocking also work on goats? Also how much training did you do for this?
Hey there Gareth, I hope you're all well and good! Thats one gnarly lookin toe. I know you don't like to criticize these farmers, because that's who signs your paycheck, I however am not under those same constraints, so I'll criticize them for you. Most of these dairies keep the cows inside 24/7 where they are handled and milked 3X a day, so there is no reason for a cow to grow an unusually long toe like that, and go unnoticed, long before it reaches that stage, this did not happen overnight, it takes months for a cows toe to grow to that size. Someone's not paying attention to their cows, and I personally find that unacceptable. I hope you have a good one! 🐂👍🇺🇸
