I live in Hampton and I fish this side of the HRBT from my kayak. Usually I fish for flounder but I need to try for sheepshead. I caught lots growing up in Florida. They're definitely fighters and they taste great. I've never caught any up here. Soon the flounder will go offshore so I need something else to target. I love to catch redfish, and trout are fun. This video is helpful for sure. I have a spot to dig fiddlers behind my buddy's house. Hopefully I will catch some togs too. Those are totally new to me.
Good luck. We've found togs under that bridge as well. The sheepshead and togs are both great fighters and great to eat. Just gotta keep pounding. Hope you get on em'
Time to get out there and get one! They're great fish to catch and delicious. The fall bite for red drum and speckled trout is hot right now. Good luck and tight lines.
Great video, sheepshead fishing is my favorite thing to do in summer, that big one was a giant, they are far and few between. Thanks for all you do brother keep them rollin!!
The back creeks and marshes all up and down Elizabeth River and Lynn Haven all have fiddlers out now. You can get fiddlers at Oceans East, Wallace's and Princess Anne Distributors.
Yessir! They taste too good though haha. That's the first big one we put in the boat. We release a lot of fish and have no problem releasing those big ones in the future. Thanks for the comment and good luck.
Love the excitement on that catch!! New to the area - where do you recommend for those of us that don't have a boat? I'll be watching you! G'ma Shelly here.
Hi G'ma Shelly, thanks for the comment and question. There's plenty of water to access from shore in Eastern Virginia. This time of year you should target speckled trout. Some of the best speckled trout fishing happens from October through December. There are also a lot of freshwater spots you can fish from shore.
Actually, I think these were left over crabs my friend brought up from NC. Haha. I usually catch them in marsh areas around places like Lynn Haven and Little Creek.
@@brandone6252 Good deal. We hit OBX in late fall and spring for the big drum in the surf. Made a few videos of that. Check them out on Let's Roll Outdoors. Love surf fishing NC.
