Huge Texas Mopar Hoard Auction Part 1 

Whoa Nelley, it's a field of dreams, know what I mean? I heard that about the Google Man. LOL. (Will comment in more detail later. Early morning work seminar (manufacturer ride and drive) out of state today.). Edit: It's later. LOL. I went to a Ford seminar that was a ride and drive event for hybrids and law enforcement/police vehicles. We got to drive the vehicles around a stadium test track. The instructor said, "The first lap, get to know the course. The next lap, let it rip and give it all it's got". So I did, didn't have to ask twice. There was an F-150 Responder and three versions of the Ford Interceptor Utility there to drive. I was of course looking at the VINs on them and I knew the Interceptor was made in Chicago (where it then goes next door to the plant for specific upfits off the main line. Those had a 11th digit of "G" to denote Chicago, IL assembly). The F-150s are assembled in Dearborn, MI which is a code "5" or Kansas City, MO, code "K" aka "KCAP" or Claycomo County, MO.) The Ford reps were surprised I knew that. LOL. Ford Corporate interviewed me as well on camera after the seminar and I might be featured..... Yes, that's a Phoenix. They made them up to 1979 and it was a Nova twin. My parents had one that we bought new in 1979, which we sold to buy the 1980 Trans Am I still have. Ours was an RPO code "LD5" 231 V6 that we bought to get us through the gas crisis. Appears to be a 1965 Polara best I can tell: We got the VIN, we win: D for Polara, 1 for Polara again, 5 for 1965 model year, 3 for Jefferson Assembly, Detroit, MI and the rest is the production sequence. No tag, can't brag. Possible code "W" white exterior paint, code "R" beige exterior paint, or code "X" light beige exterior paint. Yes, 1973 model Chrysler New Yorker, VIN gets us the win: C for Chrysler, S for Special price class, 23 for two door hardtop, T for 440 V8 with four barrel, 3 for 1973 model year, C for Jefferson Assembly, Detroit, MI and the rest is the production sequence. MDH means Month, Date, Hour and this one was made on 3/14/73 which was a Wednesday and it was made at the 17th hour of the day. No tag, can't brag. Possible code E7 Burnish Red Irid. exterior paint. Pollard Chevrolet is still in business as Pollard Chevrolet-Buick-Cadillac at 1501 E 4th St, Big Spring, TX 79720. Would have liked to have seen the VIN on that, but I'm pretty sure most of them were made at the Pontiac, MI assembly plant. Later on, Flint, MI assembly, Lordstown, OH assembly and Scarborough, Ontario Canada would produced them. The Pontiac, MI truck and bus plant closed in 2009 and was razed in 2011. The Pontiac "home" plant for cars closed in 1988. Whoa Nelley, part one and it's done. When you get the VIN, we always win. When you get the tag we can brag, when you don't, the Google Man is sad. Lots of old iron here, and hopefully the end isn't near. Hopefully NOT going to be flat and that won't be that. They all quit, but that might not be it. Just like Barrett Jackson, CRS is showing us the action. Please don't get squished, there's way too much to save here and we'll all be pissed.

Very rare 1961 Chrysler Imperial LeBaron (production of 1026 units) and next to it my ultimate favorite Mopar, the 1960 Chrysler Imperial LeBaron Southampton (hardtop sedan) with production of 999 units.

Best episode yet. Then again, I'm a Mopar guy. Great find, dude. Loved it.

Alot of Factory A/C cars in the beginning.

The 73 2 door is worth restoring. A high dollar restoration but may be worth it. The rest is scrap.

The 1960 LeBaron rear window is the factory treatment. It is a modification of the standard window for the LeBaron model. The welding has puffed up with age. I have one of these cars in blue. I wouldn’t mind a few bits off that car.

An amazing mopar collection, these cars still look slick, just imagine what they must have looked like when new, it’s also the great detail that went into their construction that I like so very much, honestly these cars looked like spaceships compared to European cars from the same time period. Manchester, England. 👍.

Both the 1960 and 1961 Chrysler Imperial LeBarons had that factory installed rear window insert. The insert was welded into the roof and C-pillars. However the molten lead for the seam rots over time and causes that bubbling.

omg, at 7:05 that 61 Imperial LeBaron, it had the "floating" ring wheel cover on the front seat, that's like a 300 dollar item!!!!! And I count three wheel covers on that seat!!!

Holy crap that's a dealership and a half! Wonder how much interest is around the auction! I see that you're not the only one getting a preview of what's to come! If I were you, the Chevy van is a good choice along with one of the trucks. The silver 4 door Newport is in real good condition. I'd keep an eye out for that one! Damn the 8 track at the end is COOKED! The player might have a chance of coming back to life.

The so called Christine car was NOT a legitimate Fury. The Fury was only available in gold and white

…a genuine time stopped open air collection / hoard of vintage 1950’s, 60’s and a few 70’s ChryCorp makes and models …thanks CRS for time taken at finding, sharing and showing what appears to be a superb cross section of vintage Mopars …large number of Imperials which merit some serious miscellaneous body parts, glass, badging, electrics and exterior / interior chrome + stainless trim picking + saving …the black 1955 Imperial 2 door @ 15:35 is of some genuine interest as a parts car or total car restoration candidate …the 1960 and 1961 Imperial LeBarons both are wide + deep treasure troves of very rare specific to 1960 and 1961/LeBaron parts, exterior / interior trim and badging …would be mindlessly stupid for those Imperial LeBarons to be crushed ….5 ✨ vid CRS 👍😊

At 16:15 of the video, there is a brown sedan in front of the funky looking dart that you mentioned that would be a great car to save but it's too late come auction time. Might be a late 60's early 70's Newport or something like that looks like it is a decent one for a good project to save.

Not this is the really cool stuff I like to see. Few good projects here to build. Now that little cut down station wagon is the coolest. That would be a cool little hot rod and even a builder for the quarter mile!!!

I wish I could find out about this stuff before the last second, by the time I find out, it is impossible to compete with the price raising bidders, because they can not have it they run the prices up and out of sight to the point of you better have deep pockets for something worth half or less. I think the one you didn't know was a Dodge Dart, the next one with the hood ornament looked like a Plymouth Fury & the other with the round hood ornament looked could be a Chrysler Imperial or New Yorker. These were before my time but I'm no expert as well.

Those two cars at the beginning, the peachy colored one and the rusty one, what are those? European? 2:45 probably a demo car Rambo car def was 7:20 those taillights are stupid money 9:00 is a 57 or 58 Imperial 12:20 57 Chrysler New Yorker, had a hemi once 17:40 the '60 Imperial LeBaron it's interesting to see the welded in rear window insert there, with rough finish because they padded the top after. 18:20 that's neat, a shorty Valiant. I've seen a lot of shorty cars people have made but that one is a first. 19:40 that '57 Dodge I will take. 20:24 that '55 DeSoto grille is big money with the custom car guys, I had one in 2007 and got $450 out of it. Yes, that's a Hemi 21:46 1960 Plymouth 22:54 that looks interesting, a 1961-62 Chrysler ambulance? Just get a glimpse of it. Cowboy crushed what was left of a Chevy van like that before he went on vacation, it was at The Spot and cut down to the floors and cowl. Was even the same color, red inside, white on what was left of the nose.

Believe it or not a lot of that could be saved but the auctions drive up the prices to the point you can't afford to get the car and parts also. At least in a timely fashion without saving up more cash, God knows I'm not a millionaire to buy it all at once.

The bodies look savable the interiors are garbage to bad the windows in many were opened up for the weather and the animals to get in. In the end most would not be wroth the money. Just nothing real special
