I agree with you about the Little green paint it amazes me that they cost so much and the coverage is so bad, same with farrow and ball, what I do now is take the sample card to a paint scanner and have some mixed in Valspar, you just need the person mixing it to know what they are doing and make sure they get the highest percentage scan they can, half the price or more

I recommend Mylands paint, coverage is amazing, very durable as it has crushed marble in it, colours are beautiful and it has a Royal Warrant of Appointment, so if it’s good enough for the Queen it must be pretty good. We’ve found it’s no more pricey than F&B or Little Greene, but much better quality x

when using an extension lead, always unroll the whole thing . Because if used for a while, rolled up , it can over heat, and possibly catch fire.

Brilliant to see the progress! You’re both doing a fantastic job! Are you putting in insulation underneath your new flooring? I can highly recommend it, as it’ll help both with the cost of heating and with noise issues between the different floors (quite important especially for when you have kids one day)

Wow you r dedicated polishing those stone hearths. Top tip for sanding is to remove the hose from your Henry hoover and have it running close by .I run mine for half an hour after a sanding job and air clears the air completely- even better if you can gaffer tape the hose to the grinder

Also impressed by your idea of planing rather than sanding loose boards. For in situ floor boards check out Vincent reeds very old videos on scraping and scrubbing floorboards rather than sanding ? You might want to consider sound insulation under all of the bathroom floor ?

We got Little Green paints colourmatched by Johnstones, great coverage and no problems with streaks and very affordable.

I love watching your progress on the house. I definitely try the Valspar paint - they can match your little green colour and will make up tester pots too so you can check it. If you’re not happy with the colour they will replace it too. We use their V7000 base and it covers beautifully. Can’t wait for the next video x

You can get this thing you tip in paint to stop the brush Mark's professionals use it too. Also 2coats plus are needed for a professional finish they say 2 min depending on type or background colour. It's a clear liquid you tip in the paint a paint shop or a online professional might tell you. Go on a decorators forum were you can ask questions they tell you and tips on best paint brands ect.🥰👌🏼🙏🏼

I know it looks sort of brown but, are you sure it's not old pink granite? Some times as it ages it will turn a brownish color with exposure to wood ash.

With most paint places (at least here in the US) they can do color matching So if you bring in a swatch of any color you want - they scan it and will make it in their formula! I love doing this, you can pick from other brands or even other objects you want the color of!

Decorating centre online matched my kitchen Little Green paint, and I could not se any difference. If anything, Zinsser is much more washable than the intelligent em of Little Green. I hope it helps!

Hi, loving your videos, been getting lots of inspiration for doing up our house which is surprisingly similar to yours in layout! I've been trying to look through your old videos to find the answer to this but can't find it... How did you strip your woodwork downstairs and on the stairs, skirting etc? We're just about to do this and then did a lead test and found we have lead paint! Did you test for this? You seemed to get them right back to wood well - how did you do this? thanks! Looking forward to next update :-)

It‘s all coming along so nicely 😊 Can’t wait to see the finished rooms. Shame with the Little Greene paint, I’ve used quite a few shades (juniper ash, adventurer, French grey pale, celestial blue and Livid) and they were all absolutely beautiful - two coats needed, yes, but the second we needed less paint compared to the first. And the result is just stunning 😍

I would 100% recommend using Helen at decoratingcentreonline they colour match paints and use leyland trade paints and the they are amazing coverage, check her out on Instagram ❤️
