I do not encourage anyone to enter culverts, unclog anything, or enter flooded areas as it can easily become deadly without the proper training
I unclog drains for fun in my spare time (I have been trained in culvert inspections for years with private co.) and I am osha trained.
Exploring anything abandoned can be dangerous or deadly without experience. I don't encourage anyone to enter any abandoned structures. Not only is safety a concern, but often times its illegal, and when possible I seek out permission from the owner or local police. I simply go to document its history before it's gone forever and I leave things the way I find them. I only take pictures and only leave footprints. I assume all the risks and responsibility before doing this. Please don't attempt to do this on your own. There could be nails, asbestos, falling concrete, soft floors, animals, or other hazards. Thanks for watching.

Post 10 my husband works at a coal based power plant on the conver belt that takes the coal to the silo...according to him the trucks dump the coal on the belt and when the coal gets to the top it gets crushed by a machine. I hope that helps. I love all your videos. Please keep them coming

Hey my neck of the woods. The power plant is the Dry Fork station. The coal mine is Eagle Butte. Gillette, Wyoming. There are about 11 coal mines in this area. I'm in the biz too. Wyoming.... We'll keep the lights on for ya!😉

My oldest brother used to live in Gillette, Wyoming and worked at one of the local coal mines. I think he was one of the guys that changed the tires on those big trucks when they needed changing. He took me on a tour of part of the mine. It was pretty amazing. Thanks for the great videos!

Those are massive trucks! We have a cool "attraction" in our state called Big Brutus. It was the 2nd largest electric shovel built and used in the 60s and 70s. It's part of a mining museum in our state back when they did strip mining for coal. Very cool video Post10! Thanks for taking us along. 🌻😊

I worked in a gold mine for a couple summers and it’s truly hard to describe the scale without being there yourself. I, a 5’11 person would go up to roughly 1/3rd of the size of the tires the trucks would use. Enormous mixing tanks, conveyor belts, etc. it’s something so grand to witness first hand.

I grew up in Wyoming and have been to that exact viewing area.... One of my uncles used to work there and they grind the coal into smaller pieces like golf ball size before they load it into the trains. you would be amazed at the power plants they literally put the coal cars in a rotation jig turn it upside down and dump the coal out

They do tours of that exact mine, might only be in the summers. Was only $10, definitely worth it. If you're still in the area check out the Gillette energy park east of town, have an old BN locomotive and some mining trucks and machines. To answer your question, when they dump it it is on a big grate and anything too large to fit is crushed through by a large loader, if I remember correctly. It falls down into a holding chamber where it is pulled up by conveyor to the silos, then loaded onto the train. They might grind it up further somewhere along that process. Another interesting tidbit, the large dump trucks are diesel electrics just like locomotives.

Wow that's just beyond the imagination how they are getting the coal out of the ground to burn in a power plant, it actually reminds me of the strip mines in Pennsylvania along I 81 that most are now abandoned and nature is reclaiming , really cool places to go and hike, there's still some railroad tracks in the mines that are abandoned along with old equipment

When my family worked in coal. It had to be graded and then washed. It probably isn''t the same there cause when coal was sold here it was for heat and power. What they are doing was called strip mining. Really enjoy your videos. Thanks so much.

It does show how clean our Western Power stations are. Not a fume. Because soot and SO2 scrubbers. China are building a couple a month. Probably stole technology from us. But clean, they don't want to chock. Clean coal is the cheapest technology and thousands of years worth. In WW2 the Germans made diesel from coal. But for the future, we have 5 billion years of fission fuel. (Infinite Fusion fuel). So nobody has to worry. Thanks Post 10. I hope some of that coal comes to the UK. We won't freeze this year as plenty of furniture. Should say. Love your country mate.

Coal would be better choice than solar & wind. At least in my area.
@rayw3294
@rayw3294 Год назад
@@jkinkamo There are thousands of years of coal also. Plenty of time to go back to nuclear. There is 5 billion years of fission fuel Uranium 235, 238 and Thorium. CO2 does not control our climate and just a massive scam at this point. We are all suffering from this. Al Gore, Barack Obama (at least 2) and Bill Gates all have beach mansions, yet they talk of sea level rise. Hypocrites all, bur I think scamsters all.

Powder river subdivision, that's all that area does is coal, areas of up to 3 tracks wide. The trucks take the coal to the conveyor belts, which take it to the col silos, which in turn flood load the 100 ton Rapid Discharge Cars (RDC), or twin tubs (which are labeled under gondolas). The diesels have a walk feature, which allows them to go extremely slow under the flood loaders

While you're out there, you should check out Crawford Nebraska route 20 goes right through there and there's a old military base is called fort Robinson. You should check it out. They're really some cool things you will like. My mom lives out there and she has a beautiful view of a Coltrane going climbing up the hill going around and then going down the hill and there's a old train tunnel out there. If you go on breakneck road and follow that road then the road will turn to a t and then turn left and go down that road. You'll see the train tunnel
