Meh. I tried it and probably won't use it for the same reason I don't use the clone and healing tool in LR: I think they perform better in Photoshop. Just my opinion.
I tried it in a garden picture where a bouncy castle was encroaching in behind a flower arch... Dismal failure! I'm sure in time it will get better but for now I give it 4 out of 10
Beautiful demo, thanks, you're a great presenter. I love the depth blur. I used to be a programmer. What these guys do is so beyond what I ever dreamed of.
So are the gen fills capped at 1000px resolution like in PS Gen AI? Edit: its capped still. Tolerable in PS. In a photo editing app like LR that is always going to be dealing with large images, this is slightly disappointing.
This update has broken Lightroom for me! Photos won’t import, system hangs doing basic things, etc. I’d recommend waiting for the next stable release!!
In both LR and PS when I use Lens/Depth blur it's creating a dark fringe around the subject and sometimes butchering the edges of the subject. I end up spending a lot of time fixing these issues. How can I stop this from happening? PS - enjoy your videos very much!
Ok found out that lightroom does not support the current firmware version for A7iii and A7Riii come on Sony that's disappointing, do I have to upgrade my camera ?
Tethering connection is faster in Win 11 than Mac Sonoma 14.5. When connecting camera to Mac, it takes a while for LrC to detect the camera, whereas when connected to window laptop, the connection is instant. I wish LrC can rotate the screen in live view when shooting in portrait mode to make viewing easier.
Thank you so much for this clear explanation. I'm curious what are some other tools Photoshop could offer that Lightroom classic can't now? Asking because I started trying to learn Photoshop, and now this removal tool came out, and I'm wondering if it's worth the venture of trying to learn Photoshop still
Such a great video - thanks for taking the time to create this 🙌 One thing (and please don't misunderstand this fr not being grateful for the time you out into these videos - it is 100% only a kind advice ): I find there is a rather annoying background noise - especially when you stop talking. Just wanted to mention it 🌱
Obviously, the lens blur feature isn't yet where it should be usability-wise. There should be stuff like masking objects or parts of the image and set focus/blur to selected areas with as you would do with a color picker for example. At the moment with all the work done with brushes, there's still way too much corrections needed to be done by hand.
sony tether, FINALLY. i wonder if i can finally set raws to automatically open with lightroom/photoshop for some reason the "always open with" never worked. not sure if its a sony/adobe thing or a sony/mac thing. anyone else have this problem?
super presentation and examples ! my preferred feature is sony tether for my a74 and a7r5. Recently i purchased tethertools smartshooter 5 but didn't like it under LRC, so i purchased C1 just for tethering, which is amazing tool for zooming, checking focus,.... Perhaps i won't renew my C1 next year if LRC is working well. I am not interested with IA remove because it is limited to 250 images/month with photography subscription. So, i will continue using photoshop and ON1 to do that for free.
Really like the generative remove and much improved background blur (although it still requires a lot of work to look realistic!). Thanks for your review.
Thanks! Brian Manish also just dropped a video explaining these tools for LR as well. And the ability to Archive photos from the Cloud to local (with edits preserved). We are nearly getting to a consistent ecosystem. Finally!
I now believe there's a higher power. Kidding of course but to get tethering for Sonys in Lightroom is a miracle. Guessing it now relieves Sony of the task and they can let their nth rate app go.
Thanks Colin, great job explaining and demonstrating the new features. I like the AI-assisted remove best but they are all sweet features to have in LR!
These are fantastic updates, especially the Sony tethering feature! It is great that Adobe is incorporating more features from Photoshop to Lightroom Classic!
Aaargh! My brain will explode - too much to relearn! 😁 Great that we keep seeing more content for the Adobe suite, and great summary and clarification.
The tether is really good. Everything works well. Only thing I wish they would add is on the live view the ability to click and choose your focus point.
The enhancement to the lens blur feature is my favorite. This feature works great to sharpen objects into focus, this enhancement allows you greater control.
Great video about the new features! Got so excited that I tried tethering with my Sony A6600, but so far I can't get it to work (the menu is different from that on your Sony A1).
Update: I think I have my settings right, but I get the following message from Lightroom: "Lightroom Classic is unable to cnnect with ILCE-6600. Lightroom Classic does not support tethering with current firmware version of ILCE-6600". I have the latest firmware installed, though (1.10). So no tethering for Sony A6600 shooters, I'm afraid... ☹ The tehering for Sony is only for the following cameras: A1, A9II, A7SIII, A7RIV, A7RV, A7IV, A7C and A6700...
Definitely there. High frequency and clearly audible when you are explaining the remove - e.g. at 1:48. You won’t hear on speakers - use ear buds or headphones. A lot of us watch YT using them and they are way more sensitive than speakers.
@@photoshopcafe Cool. I was just wondering because I had a lot of videos in my feed on the update, and I was wondering how everyone knew, if they just use LRC day and night and notice when something is new. :)
I don’t know if I’m the only one, but I noticed the tool works much better (ie: both higher precision and faster) if you use it as the first thing in your workflow, before any edit (especially masking).
Really? I found out by chance! Is there a link to the recommendation? I tested it on many photos and sometimes it makes a huge difference. That is not perceived in Photoshop because files get converted to TIFF so the program is not overloaded by edits I would think.
@@photoshopcafe Try It and Like it, only one thing but just a preference or a wish of mine. When generating, there is no panel with the variations generated that allow us to, well I don't like this one let's go back to the other 6 ones he generated, But, it's only this because O yess fantastic
