@terdragon4366 get a real console or PC. The switch is absolute garbage and a nightmare for developers to work with. It has weaker gaming specs than an iPhone 6
@@funninoriginal6054 the dialogue was very barebones, most of the time they would talk about their condition, a little of variety was added in portable, but still superficial, seeing they actually talking different things sounds more interesting
I'm probably in the minority in this but. I kinda liked the fatigued system. When I played FES I did hate it but it grew on me and made me strategize what party members to use depending on the conditions of each character, and even if they didn't want the fatigued system to work like how it did in FES where you would get tired when exploring Tartarus. They could have kept in how Portable handles the fatigued system where you could grind as much as you want in Tartarus but would become fatigued after leaving. Either way, I'm really excited for Persona 3 Reload. The fact that the social links are now fully voiced is going to be really cool because I can finally have a voice when I think of my favorite social links like the Sun social link and the Hierophant social link.
I actually like the Fatigue system. It bothered me at first but later on in the game it doesn't even affect you exploring tarturus and makes the game more life like imo.
Man I loved the fatigue system, much better than having the game babysitting me and telling me go to bed (tough not having a system at all would seem kinda broken, then again you could just have it in normal and hard mode no need to take away from those who like the challenge it provided).
@@MrShadic999 Ye I feel like they're taking away a lot of the things that made p3 hard and unique. If there's one thing I didn't like about p5r was how easy it was
In a perfect world there would be an option to let us turn it on or off, sadly the only chance we have at it being implemented is gonna be through dlc, and even that would be insanely lucky
Something that’s so easy to gloss over but is absolutely game changing is the no loading screen between floors. It would be crazy if Tartarus became more maze-like and the seamless transition between floors would make it more suspenseful to traverse.
For real! Imagine how cool it would be for you to realize three floors later that you took the wrong stairs because you didn't pay atention to the floor layout. I *live* for this kind of dungeon design.
It is cool, but I do hope the floors are randomly generated. It might be outdated at this point, but I just can’t see Tartarus without the randomly generated floors.
Fully voiced social links, new events with both female and male party members, controllable party members. Now we know why Atlus said they really increased the voiced lines in that interview I've never got to play any version Persona 3. Even though I've already watched playthroughs, I can't wait to experience this first hand
@@AceOfSpades038 It's objectively the best Persona game storywise. Although Atlus wanting it to have a similar aesthetic to P5 just kinda irks me a bit tho 😂
@aseisoholosimpthelastgreya9419 That's just the art style, which isn't their fault. It just shows how much their art style has improved over the years. I see people saying the art is too bright looking for a game with dark themes, which I feel like those people don't realize that the old color palette they had back then is not the same now. They're comparing a color palette from like 2007 to one from 2023. Just because it has more "color" in a sense doesn't mean it can't be dark. And plus, that's how the sun works....it makes light. (I'm not saying this is you. It's just that some people don't know how game design works)
@@AceOfSpades038 True, true. When that month comes though I'm pretty sure they're gonna pull out all the stops and remove any semblance of color from the game, or at least make it dark af Just wished the menu UI wasn't water themed, which is kinda weird since it all revolves around guns and the moon. I guess I'll settle with the moon theme since guns really ain't sellable
Maaaaan new Side Stories, dialogues in the dungeon, Fully voiced Social Links and even, EVEN Tartarus being the Gigantic dungeon it was supposed to be?! Maaaaaan, I wanna cry, this is beautiful
I'm really excited for a Persona 3 remake and it looks amazing so far. That said I am slightly worried that it will be too "P5-ified" and loose some of it's identity.
imo the fatigue system was somewhat of a good thing. it added a bit of a way to pace tartarus and wasnt really as much of an issue when you had ur full party
Hard and merciless on P5 and P5R were nothing to sneeze at, let alone the secret bosses and the reaper. They were not Shin Megami Tensei level, but non-existent difficulty is plain wrong.
@@TanayVaidyayou're either trolling or actually bad at the game for making this comment lol. Both difficulties were easy as hell. The only challenge was merciless on OG p5 which made grinding a little bit necessary. P5 difficulty in my mind was made to get new gamers in with how easy it was.
You can cheese and exploit any game. Again, Persona games are not particularly known for their difficulty anyway, so it's not like it's supposed to make you pull your hair out, but there are moments throughout the game (such as the fifth palace boss), where the difficulty does ramp up appropriately, especially if you don't know what you're doing.
Maybe I'm wrong but I felt like P3's difficulty was pretty similar to 4 and 5. Fatigue is obnoxious and random ally attacks is somewhat annoying but past early game your main character is comically OP in all of the games because you can often just make a persona that beats anything you need it to.
You can max all Persona 3 Portable and FES's SL's in one run as well, the interview stated they were never intended to be done in one play through though which was hilarious.
The funniest thing is that even in vanilla P3 you can max all social links in a single run, but you have to follow a guide so strict that literally any deviation ruins the run. Also, you finish your last link literally by the last in-game day.
@@theneedforspeeder9575 Orpheus telos wasn't in the OG, it was only added in FES after Hashino saw how much dedicated the fanbase was for maxing every SL, so he put it as a reward for the players to give some kind of sense of accomplishment
What they meant is that it was too hard to max everyone in one run, just because it's actually possible if you micromanage well, doesn't necessarily mean this was actually planned on their part, if anything was a big coincidence and luck that worked on their favor, which made them wanting to add Orpheus telos in FES
@@-penta-1357 Respect, and I've got to say Telos is such a good reward for a Persona... I really hope they give him story implementation this time. That'd be fantastic.
You know what would be very cool? If the FeMC campaign was a reward for completing the game once. It would offer great replay value to the game and it would make the fans happy. Also im happy that the social links are voiced. They are arguably the best part of the games so I believe this should have been done in persona 5 but Im happy that it is being done in this version of P3
It's an interesting idea in theory but kind of a pain for returning fans. What if I wanted to play the remake as Femc having already played a lot of the male protag? That would mean beating the whole game AGAIN or searching online for a safe save to download. Not that it matters, if she's added it'll be dlc or another version
@@raid--er4083 I said nothing wrong. This is an you problem. It is not my job to pander to people It's why I am very talented in my job as a journalistic writer
This is great news! Great changes to this game!! The full voice acting in social links IS AWESOME!!!! I know square enix is doing full voice acting in all of their new games, its awesome to see atlus is taking the remake inspiration from them! I'm going to assume its only in competition since reload and ff7 rebirth are coming out almost the same time. Nice to know the DLC outfit packs money is putting into their new games
I’m still disappointed about the original va’s not returning but honestly? It’s not a deal breaker, I think all the shit they’re adding is more than enough to make up for it.
If I recall correctly (I played portable on an emulator) there were like, skill doldrums where party members wouldn't learn any new skills until like 13 levels later so it's good to know that they're probably going to be filling that gap
Glad they are making it possible to get all the social links on a first playthrough without a guide like P5. That was one of my biggest pet peeves of p3&4.
fatigue system wasnt an issue i still got by and i liked it since it was a bit more realistic, i just hope the rescue missions get reworked or removed from the game, as interesting and slightly realistic as people somehow stumbling into tartarus based on how the dark hour works, but i really hated having to lose items because you didnt save somebody, even though i did combat this by just saving the people with SL's and the nicest items, it was still an annoying feature to have to focus on aswell so i completely disregarded it
So instead of giving the Guys a proper Social Link and keep some ot the worst Persons for those Social Links they decided to give Akihiko and Co Side Stories? A Idea that is not bad. However i hate Kenjis Social Link and some others they are either boring or Show us they are not great People. Social Links in 5 and 4 have way more Depth. And i think a Social Link with Junpei talking about his abusive Drunk Dad would been nice also Akihiko talking about the Orphanage. And maybe for Ken and Shinji a Social Link to unlock the True Happy ending similiar to Persona 5 with Maruki. I wonder when Junpei and Co only have Side Stories how will they affect Gameplay? After all the Social Links in Persona 5 especially Party Member Ones have great Effects in Battle. And if the old boring Social Links like Kenji have Effects on Tartarus what i dont believe because in Persona 5 they made more Sense. For example Medicine gets cheaper because the Social Link is a Doctor. Or The Weapons Upgrade because he is a Weapon Expert. Well we see what we will get especially each full Moon until then i hope that some of the Ideas i had are also in there.
Maybe I just played FES too much but I thought max social links was already possible. Fatigue never really affected me as you could still power through open Tartarus in one day. I think max guides actually relied on fatigue so you could stop by nurse office for courage+. Also sounds like we just getting a short story rather than full SL. Kinda unfortunate but I guess trying to fit several new SL into a playthrough and still be able to max would be difficult. What I wouldn't mind them getting rid of is the mandatory romance and broken SL mechanic.
People are scared about the difficulty, but all I care about is if they make Tartarus better. That was literally the only thing that didn’t make me want to get back to finishing the base game (I started a playthrough literally one week before this lol)
Fully voiced Social Links makes me incredibly excited. The reason for this is likely due to the English voice actors being lesser known, making it so it'll be cheaper to hire them. I'm sure they considered having the original cast reprise their roles, but they'd probably be too expensive these days. That's also probably why over the past few years, a lot of the OG voice actors in the Anime Dubbing industry have slowly started to disappear, hence why a lot of new and up and coming voice actors are now starting to appear.
As annoying as fatigue was in 3 and FES, I actually liked how they did it in P3P. Where you can explore Tartarus as much as you like, and not get fatigue until you leave the dungeon. You might think it doesn't matter if they remove it at that point, but planning it out so that I always went on a school night meant that I could wear MC out, then go to the nurse's office the next day to get medicine and boost my courage. Sure hope they add another way to build courage just as easily.
I'm glad they're adding all this stuff. I'm still salty about FeMC tho, hopefully the side stories for the Male party members cover a little bit of what the P3P SLs did.
Honestly I think fatigue was a great system that should have been improved rather than removed. I like everyone else enjoys smashing through a dungeon on the first day. But fatigue allowed for an actually good reason for not allowing that as, while I and many others enjoy it. It’s always made for a worse experience, even in regard to Tartarus. I wish they could have just made it less annoying and more integrated rather than just cutting it
People who say that no fatigue means you don’t have to leave Tartarus have not heard of the sp bar, you know the thing that makes it so you can fight properly. The game will probably just play like portable 4 and 5 where your incentive to leave was to regain sp.
Tbh I couldn't through FES, the story was great from what I played but gameplay actively made me want to drop game entirely and I eventually did. These improvements however are exactly what I looking for and I can't wait.
Thanks so much for the info bro. I didn't get a chance to play P3 when it dropped on the PS2 and was wondering why a lot of ppl seemed to be upset from some of the enhancements. Still don't see why but then again I didn't get a chance to play the original.
I was actually looking forward to having fatigue intact. The devs obviously put some thought into it when they implemented it. It prevented you from overfarming and had an impact on all other activities in the game. And you actually felt like your character made genuine progress after leveling up and gaining more stamina to keep staying longer in Tartarus. This is actually bad news and not good news. Wouldn't be surprised if they removed the MCs ability to wield every weapon-type while they're at it. At the end of the day FES will still be the best way to experience 3, the way the original devs intended the game to be played.
FES will probably be the best way to experience 3 for hardcore players but in terms of story improvements and appeal to casual players, reload will be far superior
@@hunterhunter5998 I don't doubt that Reload will be more appealing to the casual crowd but I'm not convinced of the story-improvements until I actually see them.
Weird to judge a game based on one aspect being changed and one thats not particularly well liked in the og. Already making a claim before you even have a full understanding of whats in the game.
Sorry, moth crushed into my screen while I was typing if you saw my first comment. What I wanted to say is that as long as it's not too easy in normal it's fine since original is still there and this can expand p3 community.
I really wish they'd just add the party members as full social-links and add the would-be switched out characters as quest-givers and/or side stories inside others social links.
Tbh this sounds like they are just selling the OG game again. A bit of voice work isn’t gonna sell me a full price old game. This was their chance to make a definitive version and instead they cut content and made portable the only way to experience FeMC AGAIN. Why not just have two playable characters with different social links on a SINGLE PLAYTHROUGH? Come on Altus.
My hope for the side stories is that they’re just like social link hangouts but more focused on one specific thing at a time Or something like that I don’t know if that really makes sense
Not going to lie, I am kind of worried that P3R having too many similarities to P5 and P5R Royal. Personally, I feel like P3 did have many flaws that subtracted from the overall experience, such as the uncontrollable party members and fatigue system, but I feel like that is what made P3 P3. Though nothing is *inherently* wrong with making changes to the P3 formula, the issue is that P3 is not supposed to be like P5 and making too many changes to said formula will mold P3's formula into a variant of the P5 formula. I hate to say it, but Atlus needs to stop relying on the P5 and P5R formula. (This doesn't mean that I won't expect those fully voiced SLs, that is really neat... as long as they fix specific ones....)
They are changing enough things that the whole “we didn’t include the FeMC or the Answer to keep the original P3 experience” is feeling like a load of garbage. At this point, they need to just admit they made a poor choice, delay the release, and go back and add that stuff in. If you’re making enough QoL and story changes that it’s like playing P5R, you can add everything from the different versions. The true P3 OG experience is not going to play like P5R.
I really hope this whole "we wanted to make this as much like Persona 5 as possible" trend isn't a philosophy that they keep going forward with when future entries into the series occur. I can understand it for the remake, but it still kind of turns me off. We get it, Persona 5 did really well and you're milking it for everything it's worth and then some, but not EVERY game has to feel just like Persona 5 for it to be good. I wish they had given us some peeks at what they're doing to IMPROVE upon what they did in Persona 5 and how they're going to enhance the vibe of Persona 3 with the modern tools and technology that is now available rather than saying "here's what we're gonna do to make it feel like P5".
All these relevant updates, and here I am nerding out over what new skills the party members might get 😂. It’d be dope to see Akihiko with Debilitate and Aigis with Heat Riser, plus maybe Mitsuru’s status effects will actually land more often 😅?
yeah dissappointed that the OG english cast got recasted and the Japanese version is is keeping the original cast as usual its like ff7r all over again .... i got mixed feelings..... but the game itself is cool not gonna lie....
my first experience with P3 (apart from the movies) has been P3P but going from P4G and P5R the feeling isnt there, I seriously can't wait to play this.
I dont mind fatigue being gone. It didn't really do anything if you aren't a walking skill issue. So I'm thinking maybe the checkpoints will take twice as long to reach, or artificial difficulty to make you leave? a time limit in Tartarus? there's a lot of things they can do to make dark hour more interesting to play through
i hope that even though the party members wont be controlled by an ai, their will still be an option for it with as good tactis as in the oiginal one, also i hope they wont make it too much like p5 and that the game wont be easy
Im playing persona 3 through portable on the switch for the first time. All these news are so overwhelming. I love that all the social links will be voiced, I play the game with Japanese text and it’s great for learning. I don’t even know what happens at the end of the game and I’m wondering if maybe I should just wait till this one comes out
only thing i’m disappointed in is the fact that it looks like most of the cutscenes are not anime cutscenes anymore i feel like the aegis on the beach scene is much more impactful when it’s animated
Since they are saying they want to make it as close to P5 as possible it does make me wonder if they'll redesign the female social links to have a platonic options so you don't have to romance everybody.
So what your saying is reload is an even MORE enhanced version of persona 3...but not definitive? I'm fine with that. However, I do feel like the answer and maybe even the feMC route will be dlc. Or given they want it to be like royal, the answer will be unlocked after beating P3 with hidden requirements. I do like that idea better for those who already know what to expect in P3. Thanks for the update. Even more excited now. c:
Fyi the director already said they won't add the answer and femc. Maybe the answer can be future DLC, but i just don't see FEMC being a DLC. It's too much
Kinda strange Atlus said they are trying to remake the og P3 experience meanwhile removing/changing/adding features to make it more like P5R. Hopefully they won't go overboard with this.
Yes it is what needs to be done when anyone remakes a game. But to give an example of what exactly do I mean look into RE2 and RE3 remakes. Both of them were made to be more modern but one of them manages to keep its charm while feeling modern(RE2) Meanwhile other while still being well made didn't feel like its former self(RE3)
I'm actually a little worried. Don't get me wrong, I love that Persona 3 is getting what it deserves, but all the talk of wanting to make it more like Persona 5 greatly worries me. The gameplay of Royal was significantly too easy, and forcing everything in the direction of Persona 5 may cloud the original story, visuals and design of Persona 3. tl;dr, I hope they don't turn it into Persona 5: The Door, and keep the original spirit of Persona 3. I have hope it'll be good regardless, though.
I’m so damn excited for this. The graphical improvements are phenomenal! The gameplay looks amazing! Since Persona 5 Royal is my favorite RPG of all time I’m glad they’re making it similar to that. My only gripes are the lack of the Answer, FemC and new social links for the male protagonist. Instead of a side story I would rather just… be able to rank up Junpei. I still think the game will be great! But it sucks that they refuse to make a version with at least all the content of all versions.
They did said side stories among the male party will talk more about their backstories, I think it's a way to make their interactions more meaningful without removing the old SLs, people say to add different arcana, but we have to remember different arcanas were only added to fit the plot in some way. I'm not fond of Nozomi or Kenji, but if they do the side stories well, I don't mind
@@joaolima7131 I think the same, they did say they wanted to add social links to other characters but cutting content from the original P3 was not an option, so they did this instead to accomplish something similar.
As much as I loved Persona 5 & Royal's amazing Mementos chatter, it was too scarce in normal gameplay. You'd have to actively drive around while not hitting any Shadows, not opening any menus, and not triggering other dialogue for a short while just to hear the Thieves' banter. I'm hoping Persona 3 Reload can deliver similarly excellent dialogue while exploring Tartarus, occurring at least frequently enough that you don't always need to go out of your way to hear it.
