I had the honor of going to the press-only soft opening of the NEW Amoeba Music Hollywood last week, the night before the store opened to the ravenous public, and I was in absolute awe. The new space is brilliant, bursting with life, amazing music and memorabilia as far as the eye can see. I spent 2 hours there that night, and a few more the day after on the proper opening, and I found a ton of gems hidden in the stacks (and some in plain sight on the walls/pillars) - Stick around for a mini tour of the store and my insanely large haul.

THANK YOU for stating the prices!! Too often, and for unknown reasons, people don't reveal what they paid in their videos. I don't know what the big secret is. It's cool to hear the prices you paid and it makes the video better! Good haul!! Amoeba is the best. I've only been there once - two summers ago at the San Fran location - and needed about five more hours than I had at the time. Good stuff. Thanks for sharing.

I was there reopening day April 1, I waited 7hrs to get in I was determined and committed to GET IN! I was soo happy to be back in AR after one year of it being closed. I bought a couple of collectible wall lps and some cds, got a free poster too. I’ve been back twice and will return again and again....❤️ Amoeba Records ☮️✌️☮️

That’s a record shop and a half. You’d not see me for days in there. Really interested in some of the stuff in your haul. Some I’ve never heard of and I’ll be checking those out especially that Mina Tindle album. Cheers Matt !

Maybe checking out at 10 O'clock in the evening when it is much cooler should mean you will be able to get your albums back to Portland Origen, That Frank Sinatra album is a really good listen get Nancy Sinatra on Vinyl also as she is very good.

Hi, I’ve been experiencing a buzz from the speakers and I’m sure it’s caused by the pre-amp. Whenever I turn the pre amp off the hum dissapears. I’ve grounded the pre amp with turntables’s grounding post with green wire but nothing really helps at all, I’m literally hearing 35% buzz and 65% music . Pls kindly help

I’m so glad they’ve reopened now. I was around the corner from them at the end of 2019 ( I was in California for concerts) and I was just like “oh I’ll visit them next time I visit”, not knowing what was to come 😐😭

Jaga Jazzist is awesome! I didn't realize it was a "he". I thought it was a larger jazz group from northern Europe. The album that got me into them was from back in 2001 called A Livingroom Hush. Moments of Future Jazz and other vibes of the Cinematic Orchestra. Highly recommended!

@@TooManyRecords actually it's a 9 piece, seen them live a couple of times (first in 2002) but the Horntveth brothers form the core of the band yes. Brilliant musicians/producers. The latest came out on Brainfeeder and is great!

Man, soooo pumped on the new Amoeba location and seriously can’t wait to make it out and dig through the glorious amount of records!! Now, Matt, please don’t take this to the heart BUT please, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD... invest into a RØDE Wireless Go or some type of quality Mic set-up, the audio was... tough. Also, an ND filter for outside shots! You don’t shoot often outside, so maybe not needed? And work on those Cam settings; i.e. Shutter speed & Aperture is a must!! I seriously almost stopped watching after 30 seconds but was interested in your trip to Amoeba, so I powered through it, haha! Again, I’m not trying to make you feel bad but, since you’re an influencer on RU-vid for the vinyl community, this would make a WORLD of a difference.

I appreciate the feedback brotha! I don't often shoot outside, and camera work is not my forte sadly. It's really tough being a one man army. Chris has gotten too busy to help with the channel like he used to, so I'm over here trying to concept videos, run camera, make sure sound is good, edit, and promote them all by myself! I wish I had a team over here. My weakest link is definitely my technical skills, but I'm working on it. Those outdoor shots weren't in the original plan, just something I came up with last minute.

I went to the old one, in 2017 and the whole place was insane as we all know, it’s like an over sensory music heaven, I got aim by Mia, ray of light by Madonna, ep 1 by fka twigs and remixes part 2 by banks ! 😍
