Mike. After careful examination and study of previous instances where "Tony broke it" seems apropos I have come to the scientific conclusion that Tony's superpower is not to break things but to find the weaknesses in mechanical devices and point them out often with catastrophic results. 😉

, several years ago my son's 95 Trans Am six speed Transmission failed. Couldn't find anyone in Greensboro, NC to repair. Several friends recommended TICK PERFORMANCE then in Mooresville, NC. I contacted them and they agreed to find and fix the problem. Carried the car to them and spent the entire day observing an tech tear down and locate the problem and repaired same. Great knowledgeable people and I was totally satisfied with their work.

I *thought* I heard a dead-hole-gallop while y’all were cranking it in Tony’s video and again while you were starting it to find the clutch engagement point. Glad you found the broken adjuster. If it were mine, I’d crank it for a few seconds (fuel and ignition off) before every pass to listen for dead holes. Maybe it’s just my ear from playing drums as a kid, but the irregular compression sound is instantly obvious do me.

As someone who has watched Blasphemi since the original build, it's awesome to see you still getting so excited about this car!

I'm thinking you would benefit from a single discreet wheelie bar in the middle of the bumper. I saw a car running one the first day of drag week but I don't remember what kind it was. If the class allows it I reckon it'll help you with climbing the clouds a bit more. Good luck bro, she's hooking up fierce, now it's just dialing it all in. No worries, you got this!

when it comes to racing a stick shift car, the clutch is everything! glad you guys are catching on

Hey Mike, you might want to put a mark on the clutch pressure screws so itll be easy to count the turns you put into them. Also im kind of curious if you can add weight to just 3 of the fingers instead of all 6.

testing seems like such a crucial part of getting a car ready for an event. so many people thrash to get their car put together that they are reduced to testing at the event which rarly goes well. good luck boys

The technicalities in this episode were very interesting; you guys are doing a lot of very good homework. Not sure anybody said so, but I hope you found that missing chunk of adjuster. The mis-read gauge made me laugh. The rubber ball line made me laugh harder. Wheelie leverage makes me think of taildragger airplane lessons: The higher you lift the tail, the easier it gets, which leads to a nose-over. Same physics; different direction. Can't wait for Drag Week videos!

What I’ve learned from this is weight on your dealie makes you do a wheelie! Lmao love follow the progression of Blasphemi feels like we all get to learn along the way. And Pete is REAL good at doing stuff.

Ever thought of putting a strain gauge on the shifter to help your shifts to be quicker. It measures the "strain" / stress you put on the shifter trying to go for the next gear, then tells the ecm to cut timing just enough to unload the gears and let the shift happen. All the while your foot is flat to the floor. Ask cleestus they got one on Leroy I believe.

I'd talk to Pete and Cleetus about the set up in Leroy 2.0. Cleetus runs the same clutch and has a device on his shifter that reduces rpm by putting pressure on the shifter when your about the shift to reduce rpm to create a optimal shift window without taking your foot off the gas.

Hasn’t cleetus been running a clutch like this in Leroy for like 3-4 years now?

Killer update with the slipper clutch! A suggestion when using the rev limiter to shift. Raising the rev limiter re-engagement RPM up a bit should keep the engine RPM up at the level where the system remains fully engaged with the launch clamping force after launch. What remains is the full reliance on the high RPM weighted section of the slipper clutch while shifting gears while heading down track. Less rpm drop during shift should keep the clutch in the high engagement portion of clutch adjustability. This setup should keep the clutch easier to tune down track, by keeping the clutch to one manor of adjustment. Alternatively, you can use a pressure switch on the shifter to signal the ECU to initiate a momentary timing retard in the tune. This will unload the transmission just long enough to allow you to make the shift. It's more of an instantaneous power dip, without the associated engine RPM drop and power loss inherent with a throttle blip (or a larger drop in RPM with the rev limiter). I believe Garrett Mitchell (Cleetus) uses this setup in his manual transmissioned Corvette Leroy. I hope you find this suggestion helpful.

Haha, I actually went back to FH5 and did some tuning of my Blasphemi recreation just last night in learning rebound last video. All comes full circle

Once you get the clutch dialed in you’ll be golden and love it I run one on my bike and after setting it up I don’t mess with it

At the perfoormance level your now at you should run the valves every pass. Might just save you another motor in the future.

I recall Steve Morris saying if it hits the limiter on the top end, wide open, under load that he changes the connecting rods because it weakens them 😮 Haven’t seen Finn wheelie like that since Stubby Bob. 😂
