@@user-kr6ui5sm1p the show pretty much confirmed it, Hugh said his mother was a whore (as Saera was) and lived in Free City (again, Saera's whereabout), he was ashamed of her and went to King's Landing, and in the book, Saera sent her sons to King's Landing to press her claim at Great Council 101 even though they weren't nominated because of being bastard, and well, Hugh is a bastard, that's the gist

It's also mentioned in Fire and Blood that one of Saera's sons is the spitting image of Jaehaerys in his youth.

I was just thinking this while watching. None of the other dragon seeds had beards, and that may have been what saved Hugh’s life.

It seems Vermithor is by far the fiercest dragon around,his only rider was king Jaehaerys. The first guy who tried to claim him had balls but it wasn't enough. He choosed Hugh because he was both brave and strong

Right idea but different reasons for Syrax and Meleys. Syrax was already partially bonded with Rhaenyra because she hatched while in Rhaenyra's cradle when Rhaenyra was a baby. This practice makes it extremely easy for the Targaryen to later claim that dragon. Jace, Luke, Joffrey, Aegon (Rhaenyra's baby son, not her brother) and Daeron all have dragons solely because of this (or had, in Luke's case). Syrax became quite docile and friendly because Rhaenyra often brought her to court, and so encouraged her to be more friendly. Rhaenys in the books has a drastically different personality to the show. She's incredibly bold, wilful and passionate. She's a lot more eager to go to war. Essentially, Rhaenys is very similar to her aunt Alyssa, Meleys' first rider. Alyssa was a VERY extraverted tomboy who enjoyed learning to fight with swords and when she married her brother Baelon, she was (seemingly deliberately) keeping half the Red Keep awake with her uh... 'sounds of pleasure' whenever she and Baelon went to bed. In my opinion Rhaenys had a lot more to do with her marriage to Corlys than anyone else, despite Jaehaerys being king. And given she always did seem to want the throne rather than her uncle Baelon being named heir after her father's death, it's possible Meleys was drawn to this bold side of her, and rejected Daemon due to his boldness largely coming from anger instead of passion.

Silverwing is one of the kindest and empathetic dragons. I honestly don't know why nobody tried to claim her earlier. She is famous for never lashing out on people and being one of the few dragons that does not kill prospective riders that she rejects, she would just gently buck them off her to let them know they didn't make the cut.
