My two sisters and I went to see Hugh Jackman when he came to Chicago in October 2019. I saw him last June, and found out I can get my wheelchair on the floor! The day after that concert, I found a seat in the front row, at the end of the runway, and bought if before I lost my chance. My two sisters were sitting in the isle directly across from me. They knew my plans I had to try to get Hugh's attention to get him to pick me during his "Peter Allen" skit. I made a sign, and was a basket case waiting for that time to come. LOL! during intermission, I brought my small sign out (hesitantly, knowing signs were not allowed). I put it on my lap, and with all the security walking around, and standing nearby, no one said anything. {{whew}}
When Hugh came out, and walked to the edge of the stage, I held my sign up, and HE SAW IT!! He came down the stairs, started giving high fives to the people to my left, and kept going that way. Here I was getting a little worried. He started talking to a couple near the end, when a young girl gave him a flower, hugged him and wouldn't let go. my chances were slowly diminishing. he talked to her, grabbed her by the hand and took her up onstage. That's it, I lost my chance....or did I??? As he was hugging her, he looked down at me and said, "And I saw your sign, you wanted to dance with me too? Can you come up here?" Unfortunately I couldn't, and showed him my cane...so they both came down to me!!!!! After the show, a few ladies came up to me and exchanged numbers so they could send me their videos of me dancing with Hugh!! I loved those, and I'm so grateful they shared them with me! I love watching them...daily! LOL! But they all end before the best part. My sister Laura took this video all the way to the end, and you get to see me getting a HUG from Hugh!!! By the end of the night, I was floating! Here's the video of that wonderful night!! :)
