I am Aussie and many of the things these two have in common my husband and I have in common so i tend to read up about this couple a bit.......If U know anything about Jackman's background U would know his mother left Hugh and his many siblings as children because hugh's father had little time for her. Now when Hugh phones his father the first thing his father asks is " How is Deborra-lee?" coz he understands the saying " Happy wife, happy life" and regrets he didn't pay enough attention to his own wife. Also Deborra was an actress for some years herself and she helped many Aussies with contacts in Hollywood so Hugh knows he is onto a good thing with her. On their first date she turned down a invite from Mick Jagger when he called and was in Australia for a night out on the town. Even though Hugh was an unknown actor at the time Hugh overheard the phone call where she said "Sorry, I can't go. i'm with Hugh"....... Hugh didn't know who was on the phone thinking it was her mother or something only to find out it was Mick jagger. As an adoptive parent in Aus also it is almost impossible to adopt kids here because of government red tape and she has relentlessly worked with our govenrment with the idea that if there are no kids to adopt then that is fine coz they R with their parents BUT if their R kids who can't be raised by their BIOLOGICAL parents because the child was a circumstance of an affair or something then they can be adopted to Aus. Our gov is very tough on these matters and i give Deborra-lee credit for trying to show our gov that some children R in orphanages and will remain there until our gov allows Aussies to adopt them. Aussies want to adopt kids but for ongoing reasons the gov makes it practically impossible.

I'm not Aussie but I'm one of his fans. I can confirm they never separate every time hugh post a picture of him and his wife he will hashtag with mydebs which i think it's very sweet. He loves his wife so much don't believe the rumours.

He adores Debra, they've done so much good together for the world.they've helped in making adoption process better for aussies and I'm an overseas adoptee☺
