Hello ! Just a quick question. Would you say the Spirit of Rock is usable to play metal, maybe with an overdrive or a distorsion pedal in front ? And how good this serie takes pedals ? Thanks
Hey Raphaël! I'd say all of the amps are cabable of doing metal. The Spirit of Vintage and the spirit of rock would need some overdrive/distortion pedal in front to get what i would classify as metal tones. The amps are not the best pedal platforms to be completely honest, but if i had to rely on a pedal board to get my tones from a clean amp, the spirit of Vintage would be more than enough for me. I could definitely get by with that amp! I did a video on all of the amps in separate trying pedals in front if you wanna check it out 😄
Hmm... If you need/want a pedal platform i wouldn't go with the Spirit of Rock.. The Spirit of Vintage takes pedals pretty well and feels like a tube amp. You can tell with the DV Mark when you play it, that it doesn't respond like tubes, but it sounds killer and takes pedals VERY well! So if you want pedals in front of the amp, I'd go with the DV Mark, or Spirit of Vintage :D

I am used to solid state amps and i personally like to just use the clean channel of my fender princeton 65 SS amp and just let the pedals do all the work, and it sounds good but i've heard a few good demos of the dv mark micro 50 ii (not actually the version you have, just the standard micro 50, the ciro manna model has a micro tube, whereas the micro 50 is all solid state. but I heard some great sounding demos of it and it just sounds amazing clean and seems like it takes pedals well and also has a bit more tone shaping options than my fender amp. So i was just curious about those and then I saw these new ones come out and was curious about them too! haha thanks for your recommendation though!
