For those wondering, In the movie shown in this video (its a part taken out from the movie but who cares) it shows a train crashing into multiple different things, well the train accident happened in real life, let me tell you the story. On 22nd of October 1895, the Granville-Paris Express was arriving at Montparnasse station in Paris. The time was at 16:00 or 4:00pm. As the train was approaching the station, the driver and fireman (or firemen) wanted to slow down. What they didn’t know is that they tried to brake too early, causing the train to not slow down in time. The train ploughed through the buffers completely at 40km/hour. The train ploughed through the station immaculately without slowing down. The train actually accelerated from 40kmh to 82kmh. The train was coming to the end of the station and thats when diaster struck. People don’t know that the firebox lit a bit of the train on fire. They crashed through the large window at the end of the station causing the locomotive to smash straight onto the ground. The force of the impact launched the tender to slam into the back of the actual locomotive, squishing both driver and fireman. Impressively only 1 person died in the crash.
