hey y'all, so i didn't even realize until a couple of hours ago that this video had been blocked in the countries of roughly half my viewership; never got a notification to that effect, all i ever saw in the creator studio was "partially blocked," which it had been originally, just not as much. supposedly the problem's resolved now, though the music that triggered the block which i told the youtube auto editor to remove is still somehow there during the homare section, and instead now my narration is fuzzy, which is ??? so i recommend putting on subtitles, which i manually create and time for each video.
One of the many reasons why I love this season so much is the villains! They're not your basic villains that want to destroy the world because they're "bad" and "evil", they want to stop the future because they fear the tragic that will come. The ending of this season speaks out about not destroying your enemy but helping them learn and grow instead. And for that, it's forever one of my favorite precure seasons!
Oh my god YES! Thank you so much for spelling this out in a concise way! It’s sad to see that a lot of people disagree with you and think the writers should go back to making bad guys who are evil for evil’s sake... I love the Precure franchise (I have favorite seasons and ... not so favorite, like everyone), but the villains usually fall flat for me. Hugtto is to this date the only Precure season where I love the villains as much as the cures. One of the many reasons it’s my favorite.
I genuinely love Hugtto Precure so much. I was in tears when I finished it. I was in a dark place when I watched it and it helped me cope with a lot of the changes in my life at the time. I know the series has some issues, but the story and characters are so good. 💖 Cure Yell will always be my favorite cure. (Although I really relate to Cure Lemonade from Yes 5) She’s such an inspiration to me. All of the cures this season are great imo. 😌💕 Thank you for reviewing Hugtto Precure!
We all can be agree that this season helped the fans and people outiside that were sad or in depression, including me :') This season made a hit directly to my heart, because it helped a lot, this season is the perfect definition of why we watch magical girl animes Because they made us to believe, we have all the world problems, and sometimes is just too much and then we watch this and all the problems are gone, it's magical
i will forever hold this series in my heart. this is the series that aired when i was going through depression, really bad. this was the season that kept me going. this was the only thing that kept me going. i was considering suicide, but this stopped me. i cant get over on how this show techinally saved my life. when hanas backstory was revealed, it was basically the same as mine. i was bullied to all hell, scared to keep going. i was crying when this whole segment was going on. fuck i love this season, even though its super flawed. i still hold this season super close to my heart. so techinally, hana saved my life. when she cheered the audience on, i felt like she was cheering me on. the fuck before hana she voiced a fucking piece of bacon
Something I wish more people would pay attention to is head writer(often listed as series composition). They have just as much influence on a project as the director when it comes to overarching plot and character beats. If you compare Precure series with same head writer(like let’s say mahotsukai and star twinkle) you’d find that there tend to be very similar in certain aspects that put them apart from other seasons. Which is also why I say praise should also go to Fumi Tsubota. She also was the head writer of one of my favorite series Pretty rhythm rainbow live and I’d say it’s very similar to the way huggtto handles things
I agree, I wrote some blog posts on Series Composition writers, I haven't looked into this seasons' yet but i know Doki Doki shared the same one as Sailor Stars.
This whole comment thread is pretty insightful and awesome. I think people talking about the director is essentially a good thing, since we’ve come a long way from the way things were in the past with the only directors people knew the names of being like, a couple people at Ghibli, and maybe Anno. Nowadays though, tons of directors are getting mentioned and people are even recommending each other similar works by the same directors that their friends like. And I do absolutely love all that. Although, I definitely also agree that head writers should get mentioned more, and try to do the same myself so more people know how much influence they have.. also knowing that the head writer of Sailor Stars has a connection with Precure makes me sooo happy since I loved Sailor Stars! I know some people say that season felt like a bit of a filler season but, to me tbh, it was one of my favorite stories the anime had.... Manga Sailor Moon is still way better overall thoughhh >:3

hugtto is by far my most favourite season of precure ever, like i've never been so attached to characters before...and i loved precure since i was 13 years old....and now we are 2 seasons later...and i'm still fucking missing hugtto...and still in love with the characters...i'll probably rewatch it soon
I love you Tyranno, and it is apparent how very excited you are when talking about this season, and this season also did get my own attention, as someone who has a really painful animosity with time. There are some memories of friendships I had in the past in primary and secondary schools and some going currently. Even though they're far from ideal I just can't stop dreading the passage of time and how time will make those friendships broken, distanced, and eventualy forgotten. It's sort of like I can't remember if I had any friends. They were pleasant but often I felt like we never honoured the time spent with due awareness that this wasn't going to last forever, and we never had any closure from them, never an awareness of how valuable they are. It's a difficult feeling I don't know how to explain, but I've spent nights just crying and thinking about it. I think I'm doing much better now though, since I always have a way to connect to someone today. If this is where you say Precure peaks, then I'm a little scared if it's gonna go downhill from here.
Two things to note 1: Going by supplementary materials, Future Hanna didn't just die, she straight committed suicide, which is pretty dark for this franchise. 2: I don't know why but I find it really funny that around the same time Hugtto aired, Precure's brother franchise also had an anniversary season, that involved time travel as a plot point and had one of the main themes of it's story be about the future.

I've heard a theory of there being 3 time lines in this season. •The first time line, where George comes from where Hana died for one reason or another which is what caused him to loose hope. It's thought it may have been she took her life after a miscarriage sadly enough.... •The second is the one where the villains are from, where Hugutan was able to grow up and where George traveled too and the one that froze •The one that's created after the season is over, the one we actually get to see
hugtto precure made me cry like no other, but goddd, the emiru lulu ending bothered me to no end. what you said is valid, but it's so upsetting that emiru will never get to be with the lulu she knew, and the lulu she knew either is stuck miserable and alone in some barren wasteland or was erased from existence.... neither is pleasing to me :|
Yeah I really didn't like it. I'm not against tragedy, but the ending taking a gay couple and reframing it as a mother/daughter relationship was extremely ~tugs collar~ to me.
Yes to you both! As much as I love Hugtto, this bothers me... On the one hand, their last scene in itself _is_ cute and heartwarming.... But if you remember that the relationship they built during the season was NOT a mother-daughter one, no matter how you look at it... Then yes, it is disappointing. The fact that “our” Ruru went back to her future, I _can_ accept. It’s implied that time started again in the future the villains came from, and that it’s in the process of healing... I think there was a simple solution: Ruru’s an android.... make a copy of her memory so that when the technology’s available to build her, she will still have the connections she made with Emiru. If you think that’s too “easy”, then just say that you couldn’t copy _all_ of her memories, and they’ll have to make new one together in the future, yaddi yadda... Also even though tol and smol’s great... think about tol and ex-smol now tol!! 😩 At the end of the day I think that’s a recurrent problem with the representation of (potentially) lesbian relationships in shoujo anime. Sisterly bonds, mother-daughter bonds, romantic bonds, friendly bonds.... are used interchangeably for these yuri-ish couples... Too bad.
seems like the entire precure fandom hates star twinkle collectively, but i actually like it a lot!! the plot isn't as developed as hugtto, and it has less "feels" value, but i like the very characteristic space theme, and this season just looks SO PRETTY... plus, it was the first season i've ever watched so there is some sentimental value for me, but i don't think it's nearly as bad as people make it seem, i just didn't really like... the ending.
Star Twinkle’s a weird season for me because it seems like they do a whole lot of nothing for a majority of it, but the characters are so good and there’s definitely moments and episodes that stand out. The entire ep about Hikaru’s mom and how she kind of inspired Hikaru to become a Cure, and especially the scene where she tells Hikaru to treasure her favorite things even if people make fun of her, is one of my favorite eps of Precure in general. I love what they did with Elena toward the end where they showcased how smiling is usually good, but forcing a smile and pretending everything’s okay when you’re hurting is bad. Lala’s character development is fantastic and so is Yuni’s, and Yuni’s relationship with Aiwarn/Eyeone/however you spell her name was great. Also I ADORE the transformation song (and how they use it in one of the final eps made me cry c’:) and the movie for this season is my fave Precure movie! Star Twinkle had a lot of problems for sure but it also had plenty of good, so while it’s not my fave season I definitely wouldn’t say it’s my least fave either
If you said west fandom, maybe yes, overall sutapuri final battle kinda meh. But from what i see in japanese forum, Science fiction, 80s style, Unique Transformation and Divergent issue from star twinkle is good. From the story maybe true it's not great, but from the uniqueness of series, star twinkle is great.
Bahaha the part where you basically redraw the diagram from The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya to explain time travel. The video turned out fantastic! Seriously, one of the best yet. Your editing and pacing has gotten so refined, it's honestly a pleasure to watch. I'm glad I could contribute. Honestly I'm kinda surprised with the fact that you kinda skipped over how this season just confirms that the Mahou Tsukai girls are just adults while everyone else in this series are teenagers during their cure years (with the also adult a la mode girls being from the future while the Mahou Tsukai girls being specifically in the present), you freaked out about how you were confused about that detail in Mahou Tsukai so I'm surprised that you didn't even give a brief acknowledgement of it. (Even in a text gag) Aside from that I'm glad that you and I both agree that Emiru and Ruru are the best cures in this season (I still maintain my favorite being Yayoi from Smile) and it's super nice that you enjoyed this season. I’m pausing at 23:13 to pose the theory that maaaaybe there are two lulus in the future. One who remembers Emiru and the other, smol Lulu, who doesn’t. Which would essentially make the two lulus sisters, this correcting the timeline since smol lulu could still complete the cycle of going back in time and meeting Emiru!
im so glad you loved hugtto precure!!! its my favorite precure season of all time i truly believe its FLAWLESS and perfect like even its flaws arent flaws to me hugtto means so much to me its themes about the future and time really really resonated with me and made me feel better about my fear of the future it also has one of the most solid teams and the most beautiful precure designs i said what i said! i hate seeing people shit talk it cause i literally cant understand how or why anyone wouldnt love hugtto precure...great review i loved hearin someone talk about one of my all time favorite pieces of media for almost an hour!!
Some things to note about the next season Star Twinkle is that it was originally going to be a three team member season just like Mahoutsukai but ended being a 5 team member season which unfortunately lead to two members being severely underdeveloped also Star Twinkle tried to do away with the monster of the week approach entirely and had a more plots driven story

This is by far my favourite season~ Hana as a character was near perfection, as someone that can relate to her past struggles so much for once I felt represented in a show. Though they fell short in parts (Etoile and Ange) but it's still wonderful even the animation is awesome in points
Oh boy. Hugtto. When I saw this video come up on my recommendations I was feeling... Very apprehensive, like how you felt about Kirakira. Because I've always heard so much about the second half of Hugtto falling short of the first's quality. But oh man was I wrong. And I am unbelievably happy grateful for that. Many things I agree with that are in this review, most notably the things you said near the end about Henri and how everyone became a Precure in the finale, as well as the things about Hana. The comments made on Homare expanded my room for judgment on her character, now that I've been reminded of that after a year since watching it. Saaya caught me off guard as the first up in the review because I honestly can't remember much about Saaya and to me, she's heavily underdeveloped. But that only made me amazed when realizing how much there is to talk about her despite that. And OH MY GOD, Twin Love. YES! Emiru and Ruru (I use the Japanese romanization) comments, 1000% agreed, probably half and half for the last part but for the most part definitely agreed, there's a reason why these two are my OTP overall (Not just Precure, across all fandoms I'm in), and wow you said it. :D I was about to put Hugtto behind GoPri for best season honestly but now I'm reconsidering again, lol. I think this series would be more beloved by the long-time Precure fans who have built a good set of standards they hope the show can reach. For me, someone who had only entered the fandom 3 months prior to my watching and had only watched 2 seasons (Although they were Heartcatch and Go Princess), it would be harder for me to enjoy the best of the best bits and the logic and reason behind why this season as a culmination of the franchise is so fuwaing good and appropriate. (Please excuse my use of a fairy's name in Star Twinkle in place of a swear word lol.) Despite that, this season solidifies its position as a peak of what Precure could do, even for myself. Especially Hana, who I could relate so much to her past, has undeniably won my pick for Best Cure, and that is not changing anytime soon. Speaking of which, I just wish you could've talked about Hana's past more and how her development in the series really changed her. Not disappointed otherwise, but would've been great if you did. :D However... I'm worried. You commented Hugtto like it is the best season of the franchise for you, especially after what MahoPre and Kirakira (To some extent) have done to you. Indeed, Hugtto was the bomb. Not only that, but I can also already tell you have some high expectations for Star Twinkle. If you haven't started watching it yet, I'm just going to put my warning here. DO NOT EXPECT TOO MUCH. I mean who knows?? But from what I’ve seen, most people who loved HPC (including myself) didn’t like STPC... Okay I’m unfair, I stopped watching weekly around episode 12 or something... Which is generous of me I believe. Cute aesthetics just aren’t enough to sustain my interest for 40+ episodes... All the characters are such non-entities (even Lala YES I SAID IT). I haven’t watched all Precure seasons yet, but STP felt the more... corporate? Soulless (that’s maybe going too far)? It was the one season were I felt like it really was what Precure is (and not in a good way like in Hugtto). I’m not saying it’s the worst anime ever... just really subpar. I will also totally admit that my expectations were too high in hindsight. Coming out of Hugtto, Space and Imagination themed (as an art student and space enthusiast myself 💙✨), cute Pastel aesthetic, a dark-skinned half hispanic Cure... Also crazy how HPC managed to be a better Sci-Fiesque show than the space-themed season (despite the umm, wonky logistics of its time-travel ^.^’)
We talk about Hugtto, 15th anniv of precure (Toei said that not me) i feel this series almost good as Heartcatch. Toei spend more money in this series, we can see from the animation, bring back all past precure (also bring past precure seiyuu that spend more money too), many toys and goods produce from hugtto. Also this series movie is get guiness award, that's huge. Toei said too Hugtto is to bring back adult precure fans to watch the series, so we get enjoyable story. The if we must compare Hugtto the 15th anniv of precure to STP, i think that's unfair. Plus, Toei in these day not so much care with story, they just want money, Hugtto, Star Twinkle, Kira Kira is more profitable that Happiness charge and go princess (beacuse they have so much rival that year)
Loved this review, but scared about how you are gonna tackle Star Twinkle. It is a very mixed season. Some love it, and others hate it. I seen both sides.
Honestly I think he will probably be pretty neutral on it. Judging by what I can gleam of his tastes from these reviews, my guess is he will either like it fine or find it one of the weaker seasons, but I don't think he will love it, nor do I think he will hate it.
All the bad guys from dark tomorrow are all parts of japan’s economy in different decades too btw Question. Here me out. The big bad of this season went back go stop time. Was that because he married Hana and she died and he went back to stop it from happening? Like when her husband is running to see her in the end with the flowers. That’s the same guy as the big bad right?
While I have some problems with this season, overall I still loved it, and it knocked it out of the park for the 20th anniversary. Personally Homare is my favourite but I love the whole team to death

Meh Star Twinkle wastes a lot of it's potential, but it's not an especially bad show overall. It's certainly not the worst of Precure, just because Azenzone says so.
@@123emilymason I'd say Healin Good has been pretty good so far, it has a weak plot but great character stuff and probably balances it's cast better than any other season.
I wonder if you'll talk about the pacing in Hugtto's 2nd half cause I thought it was terribly written EDIT: So watching the actual video itself, you didn't really talk about what I thought made the season weak. But maybe I need to rewatch the season myself since myself I was too caught up on the weird as heck pacing to appreciate anything else in its second half >.
I'll acknowledge this, just to confirm you're not crazy. It does feel a bit rambly in the third quarter of it's run, and things like the crossover episodes only add to that feeling. That said, I don't think it was ever particularly bad, and generally nowhere near bad enough to distract meaningfully from all the other things Hugtto did right. Maybe I've just watched way too many episodic shows though. Who knows.
0:19: I still stand by what I said. It may be the 15th year, but it is NOT the actual 15th Anniversary. Honestly, I think they've wasted too much money on both this season & it's movie. To me, the 10th Anniversary is much more enjoyable & at least they were consistent with it. Had they acknowledged Star Twinkle as the 15th Anniversary would be much better, considering that Pretty Cure started in 2004. And no, Yes! Pretty Cure 5 GoGo is not the actual 5th anniversary. The people behind the Pretty Cure series must've gotten their years wrong. 4:19 to 6:14: And that's what made me enjoyed Homare's character & what she has done. Able to move on & conquer through her fear & to do what she loved. Not to mention moving on from the one that she fell in love with, knowing that he doesn't feel the same way. I've never really enjoyed her earlier episodes (especially episodes 4-5), but I respect the fact that she was able to grow, facing all of the sadness to obtain happiness. And Episode 32 would be the one where my respect for Homare would increase. I think she has a much better story to tell. Not on the same level as Lulu's, but it's still enjoyable. To me, Homare's my 2nd favorite in this abomination of a season. 8:00 to 9:15: I can kinda see the comparisons between Saaya wanting to follow in her mother's footsteps as an actor & Kirara wanting to be a model like her mother. However, while Saaya did make her own choice in wanting to be a doctor instead, I think it was a bit dragged out. This could've happened earlier in the mid or late 30s instead of the mid 40s. Plus, I barely saw any growth in her character. I just think she's a generic Blue Cure who doesn't stick out as much. That's why she's not only my least favorite of the five, but is also my least favorite Cure in general. 9:36 to 11:21: While the first crossover episode was enjoyable, the other one (Episodes 36 & 37) were very unnecessary. The fight scenes were enjoyable, but good fanservice doesn't mean anything if it's just there to bring the pacing down even more. I refuse to acknowledge these episodes. 11:46 to 14:49: Hana's story was...quite the oddball. I can relate to her battle through depression and sadness. And I admire that she wants to make sure the people around her are happy by cheering them on. But she doesn't really explore on what she wants to be. I can probably see why she became president, which was to make sure everyone is happy & not just her. But this was just shoehorned in the final episode. I think her being a cheerleader or a cheerleader coach alongside her younger sister would make sense. But that's my take on Hana. She's my 3rd favorite of the 5. 16:03 to 16:58: While I enjoy her hilarious personality, Emiru just comes off as an Aguri clone to me, but...worse. Firstly, is the lack of build up she have in her character. She was just shoehorned into the plot before becoming a Cure, which leads up to what I'm about to say. Her being a Cure was unnecessary. I know she wanted to be one, but one episode wasn't enough for her to become a Cure. She may have had growth as a duo with Lulu, but in terms of her growth as a solo character, there's barely any. But she doesn't even compare to Saaya. She my 2nd least favorite in Hugtto, but at least she stood out as a Red Cure being a Rockstar Idol. 17:31 to 20:01: I think the writers have done an excellent job in writing Lulu's story & character. The way she progressed from being a stoic and emotionless android to being a lovable android with emotions was such an enjoyable ride. Especially seeing her hairpiece go from black to yellow, which indicates that she's no longer a pawn. She's no longer a doll that's attached to the strings of her owners, but rather an android who has her own freedom & is able to make her own choices. And her being a Pretty Cure was the final nail in the coffin. Despite her despising her own father Traum, Lulu slowly begins to accept her father & has understand what he had to do. Though if they were going to make both her & Emiru become Cures, pulling a Deus ex Machina is not the way to go. Regardless, her story was the best for me & it's why she's my favorite in Hugtto. 26:51 to 28:04: I actually wished they would put more respect on Harry. He's actually one funny yet charismatic and helpful addition to the team. Had they acknowledged his helpful deeds & him not wanting to be called a mouse, it would've been better. Still, his personality & story was quite enjoyable. 28:05 to 29:00: God I enjoyed that episode. But they could've pulled a Smile there & just skip to the part where Hana's child is born. I find that scene to be very uncomfortable to me. However, it didn't take away my enjoyment of that episode. Plus, I agree with what you said about George. It may be have left with a question being "Who was the one who put the child inside Hana?", but I can kinda see Homare as being the husband figure for Hana. 33:15 to 36:26: While I think pulling a sixth Cure was an odd choice, the fact that seeing a boy like Henri becoming a Cure was by far one of the most stand out moments in Pretty Cure history. I just wish it was a bit earlier into the second season, but I understand why they've did this. And I'm so all for having boys becoming Pretty Cure. I think it shows a bit more diversity & not just limit it to girls only. However, the 2nd last episode where EVERYONE becomes a Cure was ridiculous. While I do understand the message behind it, it's still a dumb move for them to do. My overall thoughts: 2 years later & I still consider this season as my least favorite. The story was pretty much incomplete, the pacing was atrocious, 40% of the main five falls under short, the music is forgettable (except Yell for You, which is a bop), the presentation wasn't that special, some of the more mature scenes were a no for me, the way they handled time travel has left a lot of unanswered questions, & while there were a few positives in the season, it's still an incomplete mess to me. However, despite me disliking Hugtto, I actually enjoy seeing people like you enjoy this season. I think this was an amazing video on Hugtto.

Although, Ruru before her reformation in episode 17 was also great, especially when she was a spy. Nice work done by Toei. But I wanted to raise a point about Ruru my friend had a beef with and I wanted to hear your thought if possible: The thing is, Ruru is an android. No matter how you deny it, she's not a human, she's a bot. And later on in the series, Ruru seems to have gotten so humanlike that she doesn't feel like an android anymore. Do you think this is sort of a mistake Toei did with Ruru's character while writing about her?
I guess I should leave a comment on the copywriten video as well,,,, I LOVE THIS SEASON. also I'm pretty sure each of the villains represents different stages of Japan's economy. Just thought I'd I'd through that out there.
man, every precure video i upload gets comments like this, like "man the next season rocks/sux," but with this one there seems to be frequent and universal agreement that Star Twinkle is a Bad Time, which is like...don't know how to feel about that one, chief.
@@Tyranno It's overall a weak season, but not really that bad in my opinion. I do think a lot of the hate for it just comes from people parroting a certain youtuber and don't think it's a coincidence that Star Twinkle seems to be more well liked in places were said youtuber isn't popular.

It involves a lot of history about pre-Sailor Moon magical girl conventions, particularly in the success Toei had in reaching the demographic, plus history around the licensing deals and Takeuchi, and massive, explosive cultural effect Sailor Moon had on the generation. Then Doremi as a successor into Futari Wa. You have to think from the point of view of merchandise marketing and business and selling little plastic toys to young girls, as that was always the objective. I can assure you that while Toei would have likely continued to chase this market that they loosely attacked with Sally and the like, they would not have done so with anywhere near the gusto or in ANYWHERE close to the form we know as Precure without having been at the helm of the absurd windfall that was Sailor Moon.
@@clearandsweet ah alright. When you put it that way it makes more sense. I think about it as how precure was created. I though people made this statement because they thought precure was based on sailor moon but from what I hear, precure was thought up as a concept when a dude saw girls playing the same as boys. Plus Precure takes most of it's inspiration from Super sentai and that just so happens to be where sailor moon takes its inspiration from. So maybe it wouldn't be made without sailor moon, but it would definitely had a concept thought up.
@@marleythechangling9779 Ya totally. Someone could have probably come up with sentai + magical girls independently. But would it be Toei? Would it be in the same aesthetic with the same general themes and same format? Would it have even become popular and become the standard? Would it even have had the same mixed and broad appeal? Maybe. But the set of circumstances that led to Precure are so extremely causal, like dominoes falling into astonishingly lucky sequence, that I can't help but think that the entire modern magical girl genre would end up extremely different without Sailor Moon.
@@clearandsweet While agree to a degree, I'm pretty sure Futari Wa was meant to be more Kamen Rider + Magical Girl, than Sentai + Magica GIrll. Of course it still likely wouldn't have got made, if Sailor Moon had never come along and turned magical girls into the distaff counterpart to tokusatsu heroes.

@@moonspinez Cure Star, Fuwa, and the final boss ruined the season for me. Along with missed potential characters like Soleil, Selene, Cosmo, Purunce, and most villains. The only redeeming character is Cure Milky.
I’m so tired of not girls saying it’s progressive for girls not to have swords. News flash girls have always been the not sword people. We’ve always been the ‘healers’ or ‘girls don’t start fights, they end them’. I’m tired of it, let girls have swords.
I mean, I wasn't trying to say girls should never use swords. That'd be dumb. You've got to think: what are swords? Tools of war; their purpose is to inflict harm, and that's not what Hana's about, so it'd be tonally dissonant if she kept it. In other contexts, girls with swords? Fuck yeah. Narratives of war, fantasies, and others; if it's contextually appropriate then yes please. Just look at Magic Knight Rayearth - its main cast is exclusively girls with swords and well-off for it.
@@Tyranno I feel like the whole scene is super redundant from a girl's perspective. We grow up being told never to be aggressive, never start fights, emotional heal everyone. Watching the scene is pretty a 'yeah duh' moment that doesn't need to be highlighted. Boys allowed to wear any type of clothes? Revolutionary. Girls can work in positions previous held by men? Finally! Women can save hurt people with love? I've seen a Disney movie x1000 times before. This would NEVER happen in Kamen Rider, call me when the fully armored man says no to a sword and gets a wand instead. Also the lightsabers in Yes 5 Gogo are both pretty and badass.
NoblestEA I think, as a girl myself, that it is extremely reductive and sexist to say that we can only be strong if we emulate men... or more precisely toxic “masculine” behavior like violence. But you’re entitled to your opinions, obviously. So yeah girls without swords rule. Boys without swords rule. NB people without swords rule. The problem is not that girls are told not to be agressive in itself. The problem is that we’re told not to be agressive when, on the whole, society encourages agressive behavior in men. Now, I think empowement is currently hard to attain peacefully, without _some_ sort of “aggressiveness” (thinking more about BIPOCs here, though I’m not one so take what I say with a huge grain of salt). But Precure is 1) Fiction and 2) Idealisation. I wish more media primarily aimed at young (or not) boys had these kinds of healthy messages.
NoblestEA The scene needs to be highlighted if only because it is the quintessential magical girl scene. Whether you like it or not (and if you don’t I’m kinda wondering why you’re watching magical girl shows to begin with?)
@@etherealsky7078 Rejecting violence isn't what I take issue with. I'm not saying girls need to be violent, I'm he literally called out Yes! 5 for having light labers. Swords are aesthetically cool and an icon of action anime ie Kamen Rider, Isekais, AND PRECURE. I just said that instead of every girl being a healer that there should be more variety and not the outright rejection of other options. Kamen Rider Build aired at the same time as this show and went "oh cool a sword!" and didn't have an episode dedicated to "oh no, I could never use the sword". Also Cure Chocolat last season literally had a sword and Cure Macaron had claw maces. Precure was invented to be the action female oriented equivalent to Kamen Rider. Idk what you're talking about most magical girl series have fighting.

Let's see, in the case of time travel I saw that it was like everything is a single timeline but like the time line of the characters that come from the future "fused" with the final episode, causing several characters have memories of what happened.
