Aloha and thank you to everyone that has commented about not being able to see Aureana's feet because of captioning. Maybe one day we will be able to redo a new version! Growing pains of doing something new is very real! lol =). Allow me to explain a little. My grandfather is of Japanese decent and I have been living in Japan teaching hula for the past 17 years. At the time of this video Aureana was also based in Tokyo and sharing hula with the Japanese people. We were trying to find a balance in-between translating for 90% of our viewers, who are Japanese, then moving on to show more feet later so they could apply what was being said in the beginning .So if you continue to watch you will be able to see everything that Aureana is talking about in her explanations as she continues to dance. Mahalo to everyone that has been courteous in their commenting. We desire Hula-Me to be a safe place where everyone can come, enjoy and gain positivity through our culture that we love so dearly. Any comments that are of a negative nature will be removed. Mahalo for your understanding. Kalani
I have only learned hula for about 5 years. But I can see that your basics are wonderful. I heard from a friend that when Kum came to the lesson from Hawaii, he taught me the lesson after doing the basics to death😮
Mahalo for the hula challenge and the ka pahu work of Kalani. Chee hoo! As a haumana, I was beat and I am most thankful for the stretch cuz I never stretch my hamstrings. Drippin' sweat sis.🤙🏾💗
I visited Hawai'i for the first time this past February (2020). We got back home just before things started shutting down with the pandemic, and since then I have escaped to Hawai'i in my mind whenever things get too much. Today I was so full of stress and physical symptoms from the 2020 insanity that I decided to go full virtual vacation and turned on Hawai'ian background music. That wasn't good enough, so I found this video, which I had watched but not done before, and I DID IT!!! Not too badly either. Mahalo for this opportunity to renew my Hawai'ian feeling on this rainy Melbourne Australian afternoon. Now I'm going to go on building my imaginary tropical resort with some Hawai'ian language lessons! Aloha!
I would have loved to fallow your hula workout, but the wide black text-box filled with unknown language, blocked the view. I couldn’t see and fallow your instructions related to your legs. Is there another version without text?
