I was a teenager when hulkamania was the hottest thing. Now I’m 52 and he’s still intriguing. He’s a legend and he is the reason wrestling is where it is today. Austin wouldn’t have been what he was if hulk didn’t pave the way! And no one can argue that if it was Austin vs Andre it would have been remotely close. That’s a fact! Thank you HULK for many years of great wrestling! There will never be another Hulk Hogan.
Dude I’m backing you on this 100%. Without Hulkamania and all the maniacs then the attitude era and wrestling today wouldn’t existed at least to this extent.
Man I'm 45 and love to hear ppl like u give him the respect he deserves. He literally is the Biggest star Wrestling has ever produced. Hulkamania was insane back in the 80s. Best ever Brother!!🙂✌️
Heck yeah...Ppl that didn't live thru his 80s run will never understand how huge he was.....I've seen twice in person I saw him at Wrestle Mania 8 when Sid & Papa Shango were ganging up on him and BOOM Ultimate Warriors music hit, and that crazy MoFo ran down to ring and saved Hulk. It was Awesome.🙂
@@timechild1261 Yeah the internet kinda ruined wrestling. It was easier to lose yourself in it back in the day. You didn’t have all the shoot interviews and internet exposing everything. Had more mystique to it. Austin was never the cultural icon that Hogan was.
Im 48 years old. Remember being a kid in the 80s. Remember this dude being larger than life. He was a nothing less than a damn phenomenan. Aside from Michael Jackson, no one man's name and influence on American culture was bigger than his at that time. There was no way back then i would imagine he would one day grow old. Its amazing how nieve we are when we're kids. We honestly believe ourselves and our heros will stay young forever.
It was almost like a different life time. I mean remembering back to when I was a kid. Saturday morning main event. After watching cartoons and just forgetting about the dreaded "school". It was something wholesome about it as most kids were doing the same at the same time. Eating cereal watching cartoons and playing with their nintendos and toys after cartoons and WWF were done.
@@ivanvalentin3898 , bruh, if i could only go back. Smdh. Those times were so problem free, so stress free. All i had to do back then was be a kid and enjoy life. No bills. No rent. No car insurance. No child support. No responsibilities. All i had to do back then was be a KID. Smdh. Sheesh, i miss those days. I miss watching cartoons Saturday morning, watching WWF Wrestling at 12 o'clock, and then going outside with my friends and PRETENDING we were Hulk Hogan. Those were some really special times. Miss em.
Even at His Advanced Age He STILL Has His Natural Swagger and Still Loves Being Hulk Hogan and in The Spotlight...Still Has a TON of Fans...Respect...What a Legend!!
To be fair, he wasn’t a very extreme wrestler. Him picking up Andre was probably the unhealthiest thing he did to his body. I love his performing but he played it safe a lot.
It's not always the most extreme things that damage the body. For example his leg drop damaged his back because he did it so much. Imagine dropping down to the floor butt first almost every day for 20-30 years. While it's not the flashiest or extreme move, it does damage on the back when done too much like Hogan.
@@ozzy541 Your wrong he did it because the fans loved it. If he didn’t get the reaction from the fans he would not keep doing something that screwed up his back in his older years
For a man who’s been dropping approximately 300 lbs onto his hip and lower spine for almost four decades he’s looking good. I’m glad he’s still interacting with fans while going though his normal day to day life at approximately 70 years old. Must be the FL sunshine ☀️
@@successtutoring663 not saying that. It’s always been there it’s just more documented now thanks to advances in internet tech. 1994 definitely rings a loud bell named United States v. McMahon.
And this is the confidence we have in him, that if we ask for anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests.
I know he’s far from perfect, but I can’t help but smile when I watch old episodes of WCW and I see Hollywood Hogan come out to that nWo music while he air guitar plays the belt :’)
Humble? He admitted burying more talented wrestlers because he could...lmao. He is not liked or respected by any modern era great. Even Taker has destroyed him and his ego.
The GOAT of sports entertainment/pro wrestling. He was the #1 good guy for all those years, then had the greatest heel turn in wrestling history, led the greatest group in wrestling history the NWO and then went back to being the good guy again. No one comes close, he's the Ruth/Jordan of wrestling
I mean, Hulk isn't top 50 in terms of in-ring ability, even at his peak. He could cut a promo but was an extremely limited performer. HBK done it in every era since the golden era, Bret Hart, Taker, Flair, Stone Cold and The Rock are all way above Hulk in every aspect including fanbase.
Glad to see he still tries to keep in shape and is. Their was nothing never close to or ever will be in wrestling as hulkamania! Good times indeed good times
It's nice to see Brian walking around in a good mood I was worried about there for a while... What a great guy and thanks to Hulkster for sticking with him I'm getting them through these health issues. A true friend !
I was a kid in the 80s ,I'm 52 now and Hulk was huge ! Back in the 80s Hulkamania was everywhere running wild !!! Hulk ,nobody can replace you.Nobody brother.Your definitely one of a kind. You will always be my favorite wrestler of all time !!! Love ❤️ ya Hulk.
Met him a couple of times, most meet and greets are shuffle you through quick, have something signed and if your lucky get a quick picture. Hulk wasn't like that, he took his time and actually had real conversations with people and genuinely cared about what I had to say. And I can tell you he didn't have to do that and the line to meet him was massive so he could've just brushed us through quickly but he didn't. That meant alot to everyone there.
@@AngryMutGuy I've always got the impression he'd be a great guy. Some people in the business don't like him for how he claimed his top spot, but that's just business.
Sad to see these guys later in life. Knobbs could barely walk and hulks arms were sagging big time. I think we take for granted what these guys put themselves through to entertain us and they did by any means necessary IE: drugs, roids, pain meds etc and to see it catch up to them is rough.
@@originalmicdrop not all of them get millions of dollars. Thats a very small percentage and only the top top guys earn that. Not saying they don't make a great living because obviously they do but the psychical toll it takes after years is brutal. We see them as these larger than life people which is the illusion they want but when you see them older as we are and see the toll the business took on them its sad to see. Nobody wants to see their hero's broken and no matter how old we are those guys will always be a part of our childhood and seeing them broken the way they are sucks.
I saw him at the Charlotte airport, about a year ago, he wasn't feeling up for it so we just wave 👋say hi and kept on going, you could tell he was in pain, so cool to see him here without his walking stick...
I’ve ran into him and his family many times as I live in the area. The most memorable was probably when I saw him and macho man in Albertsons, just very unexpected. Always down to earth and pleasant to be around. I also saw bubba ray on clearwater beach recently but he looked like he wanted to kill someone so I let him be.
Brother I used to be a little hulkster, I remember back in the late 80s early 90s my dad got me a hulk Hogan weight set it came with a poster a cassette tape a barbell and a dumbbell and that cool sweat head band 👍💪
Icon, Legend etc. Huge part of my childhood! He wasn’t a great wrestler, but that doesn’t matter when you have that charisma and energy that drives a crowd wild brother!
Man time flys. Sometimes id wonder if hulkster would make another run in wrestling but its obvious he won't and rightly so but he still seems to have a youthful soul witch is great to see. Enjoy your retirement hulk and thanks for alllll the entrainment you and the nasty boys always provide to your fans well done and will always be missed by your fans
One of the few WWE legends from the 80s still alive! Was never my favourite but man he could make a crowd pop! Some epic matches and that theme song! 👌
