Glad they kept at it honestly. The body horror and Banner really leaning into his mad scientist tendencies really breathed in new life into these newer Hulk comics. We know these two personalities will never really become one because that's against the status quo anyway, atleast this way there's actually more reasons as to why they wouldn't want to be one again.
I was just thinking the same thing, where we banners body just grow larger and become green, it’s like hulk has his own body inside of banner. Pretty horrifying to watch, gives the transformation a whole new feel

@@malekathxvii9154it does if you understand the context. Bruce fucked around and found out. He fucked up because set Hulk in a part of his mind and set him up to be attacked by everything he knows. He found out because while Hulk was understanding of what happened and why banner did what he did. Being assaulted constantly isn't something easily forgiven.
Welp, Hulk was only a product of Bruce to begin with. Originally he was a defense mechanism for his abusive father, then he became a defense mechanism for anything threatening his life. Then Bruce treated him like a cancer and then used him like a tool, torturing him just to piss him off. So if you think about, Banner kinda deserves what’s being done to him
@@slidemguyallegory my butt, Bruce Banner has DID. It's literally confirmed in the comics. Go watch Comicstorian's Immortal Hulk Full Story video if you don't believe me.
Yeah that made me laugh, like dude, you dealing with and controlling your anger everyday is valid sure, but you damn sure didn't have it harder than the person who was abused by his father, watched his mother get murdered by said father, then turn around and have a split personality rage monster fighting for control all the time. And I liked the she hulk show, but certain things here and there were just straight up stupid
Yeah, that speech was out of pocket. Sure life for an average woman comes with more difficulties than the average man. But Bruce Banner was dealing with being a fugitive from the US military for nearly a decade. He was an expat with an uncontrollable rage monster inside. Think if Oppenheimer was a human bomb.
@@ricopena2053I think you meant "out of control." "Out of pocket" refers to personally eating an expense that you ordinarily wouldn't have to, such as "paying out of pocket" for uniforms at work.
Simple, Bruce has Dissociative Identity Disorder and three other alters in the system. Himself, Joe Fixit, The Incredible Hulk who has the mind of a child, and Devil Hulk who only comes out to front at night and has hatred for everyone and everything including Bruce

She got her power from a blood transfusion from Banner, and her power keeps her in She-Hulk form indefinitely, whether she's angry or not. She can still do her job as a lawyer, and being a famous superhero actually improved her career. On the other hand, Bruce struggles with multiple personalities constantly vying for control over his body, and he's experienced some of the most agonizing transformations and most tragic situations in Marvel history. She-Hulk comparing her struggles with anger to the Hulk's is laughable.
It's probably just as bad as some of what Wolverine has had to regenerate back from. Because the transformation doesn't kill him, just like Wolverine can't die. They just suffer. Well, Hulk makes him suffer.. He was torn like wrapping paper on gift. Brutal!
No, this is Devil Hulk or as he became known by readers of Immortal Hulk comics Dad Hulk. Then again this could also be the Green Scar aka Hero Hulk finally fed up with Banner's bullshit.
@@michaeldaniels642It makes no sense if this is Devil Hulk because torturing Banner would be the exact opposite of what his character is established to be....
TBH Hulk's transformations having this horror approach is very fitting, a good deviation from simply getting inflated and then all ripped like nothing has just happened.
@@ImrahilToChaos Not for the shock value mate, but something more like Mr. Hyde from The League of the Extraordinary Men. I belive that would be a good approach.
Can I just say that the latest Hulk comics are some of the best in comics right now. I loved Immortal Hulk and it seems like this new run is just as good so far.
Idk if any of you remember the comic when Hulk and Banner were defused and Banner went all mad scientist and had an island full of Gamma Mutants aka Hulked out Animals. Banner deserves alot of shit from Hulk and friends for a lot of reasons reasons
@@HeWhoMurksWithOneLeapno, that's the original Hulk. Devil was his concept of what a father is supposed to be. Joe was his idea of how a man is supposed to act influenced by old movies. It's kind of hard to know how to feel about it because he's just dealing with himself ... These aren't two separate people one punishing the other ... It's just one guy who really needs therapy
They're not separate beings, theyre two sides of the same coin. Literally when sentry returned to Marvel Comics and everybody started remembering him he literally made Hulk say that he was Bruce Banner. That they were the same person @Gaming123ish
It kind of depends on the story (Most versions I think also including the one in this video are just the one person that really needs therapy) However there are some versions where hulk is legitimately a separate individual all together
Hulk is a straight up parasite who's been torturing Bruce since his inception legit the guy would steal bruces body, deaming him to "weak" and undeserving of his Autonomy. Dude is mad for not coming out when he's not even supposed to begin with, it's like mad at someone for them not taking you to a party you weren't invited to
They did a similar transformation in Incredible HULK 372. They thought about making that style of transformation permanent but it was nix'd ater that issue. I'm glad they brought it back!
This makes me wonder if any other version of hulk has pain when they go to the transformation. And some of the old films before Disney bought it I remember seeing Bruce banner looking like he was in pain when he would transform. I can never tell if it was actually physical pain or just a pain of trying to hold the hulk back but failing to do so.
At this point, separating himself from the Hulk is a better solution. But how or who will kill Hulk is gonna be a worst fate then having himself 90% of the time inside of him.
Something cool that I just noticed in the last panel of the short, the starship hulk stuff seems to have been done by the artist that did parts of invincible the comic, I recognize the way that the eyes and the facial expressions are drawn in the one panel it shows where banner in hulk's body is looking back at whoever that other purple person is, talking or something
So much of this, and Immortal Hulk, goes back to the Peter David run in the late 80s/early 90s. That had painful transformations, a taunting Hulk and even an instance of Hulk bursting out of Banner, leaving flesh on the ground.
Banner never deserved this everyone else saying he did is just a sadist plain and simple. Hulk was already making it painful, he just made it even worse after Banner tried to stand up for himself. As if a normal person wouldn't do the same
I feel it's a bit more complicated than this, like got alot of context but essently end of imortal hulk, Bruce Baner was taken to hell, like the bottom of hell, like the worst hell by the master , strapped in and being used as fuel for the master. hulk then risked his life and joe fixit life to go down and pull him out, finding out why he was made this way in the process turns out he's toaa's avatar of destruction, anyway they left hell with banner putting things right again and uniting themselfs more like friends, hulk establishing himself as banners protector. then in Starship Hulk Banner blamed hulk for something he didn't freaked out and locked him in a mental prison used hulks body and tortured hulks mind for power, blaming him for killing innocent people, anyway wasn't hulk and banner never tried to understand what had happened, so hulk naturally turned on him and wants him to experience what he put hulk through.
@Tzunagi actually there was a run a few years ago maybe in the mid nineties where Banner and Hulk were separated and Banner went insane in an effort to refuse with Hulk. The experiments that Banner did on the animals and such around him showed that Hulk actually protects the world from Banner. Not the other way around.
I swear the creator's can't make up their minds anymore, one moment Hulk and banner get along and understand one another the next their trying to kill each other again
The problem is, serious writers go through these more serious stories to develop the characters, then marvel pays whackjob writers to undo all development with stories that ignore the previous ones. Status quo is god... I guess...
@@user-drdestinyhonestly Bruce . Peter willingly chooses his path as honorable and terrible as it is . Bruce had one bad accident that cause the rest of his existence, villain or hero , to be a waking hell . Spider-Man needs to honestly realize you can’t save em all .

Naw, Bruce is a victim, Hulk is an Anti-Villain.
This shit was always inside Bruce the man has confirmed DID. The accident just gave his DID super powers and even then 90% of the time said other personality just wants to be left alone when he's forced to come out. But, then Banner decides to go crazy and torture part of himself.
@@michaeldaniels642 I know that it was inside of him, but that’s not dissimilar to Mutants who were once regular people before their X-Gene activated, it is not DID but an actual presence within him. The Hulk is a representation of Bruce’s reaction to the trauma he witnessed and endured under his father’s abuse, wanting to be left alone is what he wanted as a child from his father. Bruce just wanted to live a normal life, but the Devil inside of him keeps messing up his life.
@@maylabrown4584 no, it is DID. The comics confirmed that the reason other Hulks have a Hulk personality - which they call Hulk Syndrome - is because Banner has Dissociative Identity Disorder. Every Hulk is a manifestation of some aspect of Banner's mind.
@@michaeldaniels642 That's false, The Immortal Hulk Run in the Comics proves that it's more than some mental condition but an actual spiritual presence that was inside of him, Gamma Radiation in Marvel is different than in real life. It's a gateway energy to the place where Life and Death meet, Bruce was born as a bridge between those two places and the Gamma Radiation opened it up, The Hulk is a defense mechanism to protect him from that. But Bruce at the end of the day is just a normal guy who wants to live his life, Hulk is a completely different being to him, forced to be connected to Bruce. He is the Devil inside of him.
@@maylabrown4584 no, it's true gamma radiation has a mystical/spiritual aspect but, it didn't put anything into Bruce. The Immortal Hulk run went into detail explaining almost all of Bruce's different Hulks and each was a representation of some part of him or belief he held. Hell, Joe and Devil even confirm themselves what they represent. The only Banner Hulk they don't explain is The Green Scar or as others call him World Breaker Hulk though I prefer to call him Hero Hulk since he was the main Hulk acting as a hero for the longest time.
Honestly Banner kinda deserves it after Starship Hulk. Like they literally worked out almost everything in Immortal Hulk and then all of a sudden Bruce just decides to use Hulk as fuel for the body like wth
Thank you. Somebody gets it. You wouldn't believe how many comments I have seen that don't understand just how much of a betrayal Starship Hulk was after Immortal Hulk.
