Zeus hit him once and broke his ribs and collapsed his lungs. If he wanted to, Zeus could have put him down pretty easily. Obviously, Zeus wasn't trying to do that since he let him escape. He just wanted to make an example out of him which he did pretty easily. Banner had less than zero chance.

People forget that Hulk was fighting other titans and gods before fighting zeus, and Hulk doesn't even want to fight zeus. He wants zeus to help to cure his family. Both agreed on hand to hand combat until Zeus cheated and used magic attacks to hit him so hard. Zeus knew that he can’t keep up with hulk in hand to hand combat, that’s why he resorted to magic and negate hulks healing factor. It’s impossible to negate hulks healing factor unless you use magic attacks. That’s what Zeus did with his magic. Cheat. lol

At this point, I wouldn't even be surprised if Zeus is just trying to become the definition of a cheater. He cheats on his wife and he cheats in hand to hand combat with the hulk by using his powers.

He has all the eye beams, lightning, etc but from prior Marvel comics going back to the 1970's and 1980's I haven't seen anything to suggest this dude with a beard has physical prowess that can match the Hulk, no way.
This could have been done better if hulk spoke to thor about it to see if his father odin will help or if the norse gods will talk to the greek gods about it.

All I know is zues can turn into other shapes and use lighting, hulk WAS, supposed to be a nearly limitless being of gamma energy getting only stronger and stronger with rage, but over time they made hulk weaker and weaker.

World War Hulk ruined the character because that's how people see him 100% of the time now... Banner is not some indestructible force that can never be defeated. Especially when Zeus is concerned. Some say he was holding back? How do hold back so your ribcage and lungs get destroyed in one punch and you puke blood? Freaking ridiculous! He got his ass handed to him and it would happen again 100/100 times.
Some incarnations of Zeus may be treated as a joke but Marvel Zeus is not one of them. According to the marvel guide Zeu's magical power is omnipotent. Exaggeration or not that does confirme that his magic is no joke. Zeus is said to be Odin's equal in power. And marvel has said that if Odin really wanted to he could both destroy and create an entire multiverse. He also casually stopped an attack that would've consumed Yggdrasil, a multiversal tree. And that was with just one hand. Later in the comic after Hulk's beatdown, Hulk asks to be angered so he may break free from his restrains but it is revealed that Zeus wanted Hulk to be punished further for not respecting him. So he used his magic to rob him of his strength, taking away the Hulk's power after defeating him for a few days to teach him a lesson.

It does not take away the fact that Hulk was knock out and spewed out blood,Zeus was clearly stronger in power even if he was cheating and used magic, Dormammu turned hulk to stone and he was only saved by Strange and Umar and then he attacked Dormammu from behind while he was fighting Strange and Umar,in one vs one Dormammu would beat all forms of Hulk except Cosmic immortal Hulk but thats basicly the one below all so it does not count!
Look at gladiator vs hulk fight. If you knew gladiator's power you know the writer makes him dumber so hulk can win against gladiator. Hack gladiator didn't fight hulk with his flight, instead the writer makes gladiator Float In front of hulk! Not to mention that heat vision that almost killed the hulk. Gladiator just forget he can move faster then approaching hulk blasting by heat vision. Same with dormamu he didn't uses the power above on except steroid. The hulk was actually given his powers by mistake. Gods are created with omnipresent powers. They should have the ability to strip the hulk at will. The gods are at another level of reality.

Let me tell you what you and plenty others don't seem to understand - TOAA is the creator of all the Marvel Multiverse , he created everything inside it including these beings calling themselves Gods/ Demons/Deities. TOAA loves being the creator but after some time (several billion yrs) tires of his creations and plans to wipe the board clean to start all over again. Now he loves to create but hates to destroy so he created a being with all his destructive powers inside to do that job. That being after completing his work has his memory wiped and that Destructive power buried deep inside him so not to cause too much destruction whilst TOAA is in his next Creation Stage - that being was The Hulk........ Hulk is so many Billions of yrs old and has Destroyed the entire Marvel Multiverse on multiple occasions and has been shown (Immortal Hulk #25) Destroying the next Multiverse after the current one . However he spends 99% of his time in a fully nerfed basic strength form designed by TOAA , so in this form others can think they have a chance against him but reality is if he is pushed too far enough of his true power will surface to overcome any threat. Actually he has no threats other than TOAA as he is far beyond Death and more Power within him to Destroy anything in front of him , but it's best he does not really know that I'm unsure how Hulk is currently inside Banner , but it could possibly be explained as a reincarnating spirit possibly , and the gamma bomb just awakened Hulk from his slumber.
