In this video, I'll show you the new Huma Externally Adjustable Inline Regulator (1197), review how it works, how to set it up, how I use it, and show you the old discontinued model as well as the differences between the two.
Regulated fill lines have become part of my routine. I rely on them as a safety device and use them to help me gain an advantage on my competition through training.

Thanks Tom. Satisfied my interest in tethered shooting. Also, for indicating the source of parts. Blessings

That's a brilliant idea, I would love to do a review on this, people need to know about this product, both of my guns non-regulated, at the moment I am shooting from a non-regulated bottle, I think I have to get myself one of this, I believe a lot of people will like to know about this product, thanks for the review.

You’re right, the online instructions leaves a bit to be desired. I was wanting to confirm the 4mm set screw that applies tension to the body to hold your desired setting in place. Thanks.

You actually don't have to bleed the air before adjusting pressure within the "step" setting (on the external adjustable model), HUMA has a vid on their site demonstrating that. When you take out and add washers, you obviously are going to need to degas the regulator, since you are taking it apart. Air trying to flow backwards through a reg doesn't damage it, it just shuts the piston (it has to be able to take the input pressure, so it doesn't matter). How regulators work is there is a small orifice on the High side, and a larger opening on the low side, with a spring and piston in the middle. Only so much force can be applied to the piston through the orifice, which is counteracted by the spring and lower pressure air in the low pressure side, sealing the piston to the seat, shutting off the flow of air. Once pressure drops on the low pressure side, the higher pressure air is able to open the valve again and refills the low pressure side until it reaches the set pressure, when it is shut again. These really are not terribly complicated devices, hobbyists literally make HPA regulators with basic shop tools and hardware store materials (HUMA spends a lot of time and money perfecting theirs, and are still worth a lot of money). It amazes me that so many air gunners don't have a good handle on how these work.

Hey Tom congrats on EBR, nice shooing. I got the air chrony per your recommendation(great chrony. Now I'm ready to jump into a good compressor. I was looking at the coltri mch 6 but don't see much on these compressors. What do you use and has it held up well? Thanks, Bob

Thank you! Check my videos on the Omega Turbo. I haven't had a single issue with it and I like it the best, of the 3 I've reviewed.

If I had this attached to my 4500psi tank and had it set to 250bar, if the reg failed would it shoot the whole 4500psi into my rifle tank?

I can't answer for sure but, one of 2 things would probably occur. Either nothing would flow or there could be no pressure restriction. But, these are mechanical devices. I haven't heard of them failing.

@@Atoyota25 I see that they have a newer version out with two gauges and a higher price tag. Have you looked at one yet?
